IPhone 4 Alarm time since daylight savings started

Hi, I'm in Adelaide Australia and our daylight savings started Sunday morning. Since then, clock automatically updated like it should. However, when my alarm went off, it went of at 7am instead of 8am (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SET TO 8AM), and just then, my 6pm alarm has gone off at 5pm! It seems like the alarm part of the iPhone hasn't registered the rest of the phone has changed to daylight savings time. This has also happened to a friend of mine at work. Help! I don't want to change my alarm to 9am to wake up at 8am, something about that just would not sit well with me. Thanks.

There is a fix coming... this has been brought up before.
4.2 beta fixes it, so it should be all over in November.
Look, I agree that this is annoying.
I have to set my alarm each night, or set it in the calendar if I want it recurring.
That's not too hard.
They should fix this, and we will all go nuts if they don't.
But to say you can't roll out 40 iphones till this is fixed is surely mad?
We're talking about alarms, in the clock,
not the calendar.
I would be more worried about the apparent proximity sensor, glass breaking, antenna issues, and the poor people who despair over the lack of bluetooth file sending that seems to keep popping up on this forum daily!

  • Having problems setting alarm time since daylight savings time change today

Since the change to Daylight Savings time this morning, I am unable to set my alarm correctly.  I set it to 2:40 a.m. but the time on the alarm shows 3:40 a.m.  I have all the proper settings correctly done.  I have powered down the phone numerous times, and still the same result. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I've cleared the clock cache, powered off the phone and the problem remains the same. I have the Automatic date & time checked, and the same for Automatic time zone (GMT-5:00, Eastern Daylight Time).  I have even unchecked both and still get the same result.
What is weird, I can set the alarm for any other time, but unable to set it at 2:40 a.m. When I do this, it sets to 3:40 a.m.  Any time that I set from 2:00 a.m. to 2:59 a.m. goes to that time setting in the 3 a.m. time.

  • Time isn't right since Daylight Savings started - is yours?

I've got my time displaying in the title bar, and since the time change last night it is reporting Greenwich time instead of my CDT. I'm in -6 from GMT but with daylight savings time adjustment the iPod is 5 hours ahead of me.
I've tried rebooting the iPod and doing a restore, neither one seem to be working. Anyone else?

Found out later that the time zone had (without my help) reset to Hawaii! Fixed it.

  • Alarm incorrectly going off since Daylight Savings Time

My alarm is always set for 6:30AM Monday through Friday.
Since Daylight Savings last week, my phone has consistently gone off at 5:30AM, and the 6:30 alarm doesn't go off. If I set a later alarm, say for 6:31AM (in addition to the 6:30AM alarm), my phone will go off at 5:30, and then 6:31... disregarding the 6:30 alarm.
I have deleted my alarms and then rebooted the phone, and then added the alarms back in. Unfortunately, my phone keeps going off an hour earlier than it should.
Last night I set an alarm for 6:31AM and deleted the 6:30 alarm, and my phone went off at 5:31, disregarding the 6:31 alarm.
Any ideas on how to fix this, or am I doomed to wake up at 5:30 the rest of my life?

Or you could expect a product that you pay for to work as it's supposed to.
    I don't disagree with that.
The iPhone, and ALL smart phones are highly complex devices. There are several hundred different programs all interacting with each other, in addition to the phone operating system.
This software is constantly being changed and updated. Certain versions will be stable with certain applications. Updates can cause bugs (like the clock not working).
I am a pilot. I do not use the navigation programs on the iPhone. I use a FAA certified navigation system, because I need something more reliable.

  • Daylight Savings started in my country... Alarm clock time did not change

    Hi,
DST began in mexico. My iphone clock is set to "Mexico City" time zone and the clock indeed adjusted automatically to DST this past sunday.
The iphone alarm (not a 3rd party app, but the original iphone alarm app) is what had a weird behavior... the time for "Alarm 1" was displayed to be set at, say 7am. But the alarm went off at 8am!
The time shown in the app for all my alarms is correct but they are all coming off one our late of the time shown; as if set at the pre daylight savings time.
    Please Help.
FWIW, all my calendar (exchange-synconized) appointments are working correctly.

I found that even though the correct time and time zone where set on my iPhone, it depended on what my iTunes account time zone was set to. I had relocated country recently, and because I had to open a new iTunes account in my new country of residence, my iPhone alarms and calendar reminders would pop up depending on what iTunes account I happened to be singed in with. So I closed my old iTunes account, and thus elimiated the problem of accidentally singing in with my old itunes account that was set to a different time zone. Hope this helps someone, as I was frustrated for months before I discovered this. Cheers.

  • Iphone is changing of times of appts on calendar - since daylight savings

all my appointments made prior to daylight savings, on Outlook, and synced, have been moved to an hour later on my iphone! Help!

I'm also having a similar problem and as far as I know it started, after daylight savings time started. Only my problem with the iPhone and Outlook, is that when I enter an all-day event in Outlook, it will show up a day earlier on my iPhone. If I on the other hand enter an all-day event on my iPhone and sync it with Outlook it will show up one hour off (time on iphone 12am-12am - time in Outlook 1am - 1am).

  • IPhone not picking up Daylight Savings Time

In reviewing last year, I see that there was an issue with iPhones making the time switch to Daylight Savings Time (it appeared to be limited to New Mexico).
Well, it seems to be happening again. My wife and I are in New Jersey and neither of our iPhones made the auto switch. I assume it is an AT&T issue (again) but I'm curious if anybody else is seeing this?
I guess the work around for now is to turn off auto and set it yourself. Irritating.

You may get your wish one day which at the earliest would be sometime in 2010 and if so, then you will be talking to a bunch of idiots at whichever provider for the iPhone as none of the front line folks who answer the phone for technical support issues and questions with cellular providers are overpaid by any means, and some are not going to become a rocket scientist.
The few times I've called AT&T customer or technical support, I have no complaints whatsoever, which has been about the same with every provider I've used.
There are Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile subscribers who say the very same thing at times - "I just got off the phone with a bunch of idiots at - fill in the blank".

  • Time Zone/Daylight Savings Conflict between Windows 7 and Illustrator CS6

When Daylight Savings did its change this spring I started having problems saving files in Illustrator. I will go to save files, mainly .eps format, and it crashes Illustrator. I have changed my time zone to a zone that has not switched yet due to Daylight savings, and it works. Unfortunately as I find a new time zone, it also ends up hitting Daylight Savings, and I am back to square one. I have been searching both the Adobe site and the Windows site to find an answer to my problem, but am having no luck.
    My proper time zone is
(UTC-07:00) Mountain Time (US & Canada)
I have even tried using Saskatchewan as they do not follow Daylight Savings, but it also creates crashes. I have tried many other time zones, the two that have worked so far are
(UTC-06:00) Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey (worked for a little while but a time change a few weeks later messed it up)
(UTC) Casablanca (working on this time zone now, but an alert on my computer says time change coming up on the 28th)
Does anyone know if there is a fix to this problem? I feel like I am running out of time, as I am not sure how many more time zones will work.

I have finally found the solution!!! My account is set up as an Administrator, yet for some reason Illustrator was not opening with Adminsitrator permissions. I have to go into my startup menu, right click on Illustrator, and open as an administrator. Suddenly, everything works faster, smoother, and properly! I don't understand the reason behind this, but at least it is working proper now.

  • JDev log times and Daylight Savings

    Nothing major.
I've noticed that the log messages appearing in JDev are not respecting my daylight saving time. Log times are appearing as 1 hour earlier than my computers time.
My platform is WinXP with Western Australian Daylight Savings patch applied.

All of my calendar appointments are now off by 1 hr after daylight savings.  I live in Arizona where we do not use daylight.  How do I fix this.

jacky3brown, Welcome to the discussion area!
It sounds like the clock on the "Linux-server" did not make the daylight savings change.

  • Iphone 5s time since last full charge blank

I charge it over night and when I check the usage, it works. When I check it later on, it only shows -. help?

The 5s specifications state that the battery life should be slightly longer than an iPhone 4.
However, as with any phone - it depends how you are using it.
I know when I got my 5s, the battery life seemed a little short, but I soon realised that was because I hadnt put the thing down (as you tend to do with new toys!).
    Cheers.

  • Iphone alarm issue

    hi there,
I have an iphone 3gs running ios4.1 (windows based, itunes 10.01.22).
since the daylight savings changeover here in New Zealand my alarm has been going off an hour early every day, this is for scheduled alarms, one off alarms seem to be working ok.
I have attached several local articles about this and clearly it is not a one off problem.
Im sure someone has already asked, but is there an official solution to this?
    see attached articles.
    http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology/gadgets/4170853/iPhone-alarms-ring-early-in-da ylight-savings-glitch
    http://www.iphonewzealand.co.nz/2010/all/iphone-alarm-borked-by-daylight-savings /

I was late to update to iOS 4.1 but when I did the battery on my phone would drain at a drastic rate. I did a lot of things such as turning off push etc. to resolve this problem but to no avail.
This morning my phone alarm went off one hour early as some others have said. I live in North America so have not rolled the time back so this really doesn't explain the problem. After doing some online research I did a test on my phone and found that if the alarm is not set to repeat it goes off at the correct time, but if set to repeat (everyday) it will go off an hour early.
Furthermore my battery drain issue seems to be fixed as of today. I have used my phone very little today, as I have gotten used to using it sparingly, and my battery is still at 93%. In days recently passed with similar usage it would be down to 50% - 60%
Bottom line, something in the phone software (iOS 4.1) seems to have been set to change today 1 Nov. 2010 and apparently fixed a battery drain issue but screwed up the alarm.

  • Daylight savings affecting reminders/alarms on iphone calendar

I've seen numerous posts about daylight savings affecting the time on the iphone, but haven't seen any responses to this particular question yet.  Since daylight savings went into effect last weekend, my reminders are going off an hour early, even though the time on my iphone shows the current, proper time.  My phone says it is 8:00 AM (CST).  However, an alarm that I set for 8am went off at 7am this morning.  Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
    Thanks so much!

Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?
