Iphone 4 - auto-deleted most of my recent calls
Hi,
Just this morning I was making a phone call and all my recent calls were still in the history, and after I finished the call I noticed all my recent calls had been auto-deleted. Does the Iphone auto-delete calls when it gets past a certain time or a certain amount of calls made?

I believe it holds up to 100 calls after that it deletes it.

Hello! Ever since I upgraded my iPhone 5s to IOS 7.1, I am unable to access the iPhone Keyboard if I access contacts using the recent calls tab. I am also unable to access the keyboard if I want to search for a contact as long as I went through the recent calls tab. Has anyone a fix for this problem? Dial a number from your iPhone Keypad. After cutting the call, try to save the number you just dialled to your contacts by choosing the new contact option. You will see that you will not be able to key in the name of your new contact.Works fine for me.
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset. -

I'm trying to recover a file and the app company said to restore from an earlier backup. My iPhone only shows the most recent backup. I've been searching the net for answers - I found the back up file and date sorted them (over 6mb of files). How can I get my iPhone to restore from an earlier backup?
I am on Windows Vista so I don't have Time Machine.
I have backed up the backup folder so if I mess it up, I have it in a separate place.
Can I just delete all the files with todays date in that backup folder and have it forced to the next oldest date?
Why doesn't the iPhone show a list of the least several backups.

Backed up to computer through iTunes (not iCloud)As you backup the iPhone in iTunes, it overwrites the last backup. Files are kept as they are changed, so that would explain how you get different dates in your backup folder. The only backups that are saved and not overwritten are the ones done just prior to a restore. You do have the option to go back in time on a Windows computer, however depending on the last time you set a restore point in Windows, it could be back further than you are willing to go.

I had over 200 e-mails. I went to my webmail and deleted most of them. However, my iPhone still shows 200 e-mails. How can I force my iPhone to update from the e-mail server? Or will I have to delete each e-mail from my iPhone as well? Thanks.
You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

Since updating my iphone 4s to the most recent update it will no longer connect to the wifi at work, where I am not a network administrator and do not have privliges to reset passwords and turn the routers on and off. Try Resetting your iPad: Hold down the sleep and home buttons, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons.

After restore I did restore from back up only, as I didn't want to end up without contacts details on my phone. If I restore as new device how do I get my all contacts? I need to recover deleted data from my iPhone 4S but don't have a recent backup. I thought by pressing sync on my macbook this would back up…but I was wrong. There are no backups on my macbook and the latest backup on iCloud was Jan 2012. My mum died in May and I had lots of text messages that I wanted to keep. I really want to get them back. Is there any way at all I can get that deleted data from the phone?
Since it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer. As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you. I'm sure you'll pay, however.
Let this be a very important lesson learned.

Follow the Account management options until you are offered and email contact.
Explain the issue via email as only someone in Support can now remove your iPhone Number from iMessages if it has not "de-registered" itself correctly.

You have been using an iPhone since 2011 with an iCloud ID that is not yours, how do you explain that?
I saw a message that said your phone was lost and erased, and I was asked to activate my iPhone with my Apple ID.
Since you know it was lost but not by you, you have an iPhone that is not legitimate. Your receipt may get you out of trouble with the police but that doesn't make the iPhone yours.
Activation Lock cannot be bypassed and if the your story is true then you should sort it out with Best.

When will iPhone offer an "range" option when deleting recent calls. The currents options of "one" or "all" are not practical.

You've never used Excel? You can delete multiple rows or columns with ease.
Yahoo mail gives you an option, by checking a box preceeding the messages, to move or cancel selected (range) messages in mass. I use it daily.
Outlook and Outlook Express both give you the option to cancel a range of messages, highlight the first message, shift key held, highlight the last message, delete.

Podcasts no longer "Auto Delete"

Wasn't sure which forum was best for this but just wanted to voice my frustration with Itunes 7.7 and the fact that my podcasts no longer "Auto-Delete" after being played. I checked my settings for each podcast and they are still set to "AUto-Delete". If anyone has any suggestions, please respond.
Thanks!The auto-delete functionality in iTunes refers to deleting the podcasts from your computer. The control for removing played podcasts from the device is on the podcasts tab available when the device is attached.
Whether or not podcasts are auto-deleted from you computer is based on the podcasts settings in iTunes. The settings button is on the bottom of the podcasts page (next to the undelete button). In the popup window under "Settings for:", select "Podcast Defaults" to change to default for all podcasts, or a specific podcast that you want to behave differently from the default settings.
When choosing "Podcast Defaults", the two selections at the bottom of the window will be unlocked. When choosing any single podcast, uncheck the "Use Defaults" checkbox to unlock these fields.
Changing the selection "When new episodes are available:" will affect how many (zero, one, or all) podcasts to download.
Changing the selection "Episodes to keep:" will affect which, if any, podcasts are auto-deleted.
As to removing podcasts from the device, this changed for me with the most recent update to the iPod software. Podcasts are removed from the iPhone if they have been played, but they remain on the iPod until they have been deleted from iTunes. I have not experienced a case where a podcast persisted on the device after it was deleted from the computer. I am hopeful that Apple will fix this with the next iPod software update. -

* I've set ALL my podcasts to "Do Not Auto-Delete"
* My podcast prefs are check "Manually" / "download most recent" / keep "all episodes"
* I listen to a portion of a podcast on my ipod (NOT all of it)
* I updated my subscriptions
* I sync the iPod
* The podcast I listened to (a small part of) is deleted from my ipod.
PLEASE fix this.Argh! Another iTunes update and still no fix.

Why is this feature important to you?
easier editability on the fly with the magnetic pen tool..Many people seem to confuse joining with averaging. Like Ray says, only endpoints can be joined. In your case you don't need to join the points. Select the points you want to have in the same position and Cmd-alt-J, Both, and all the points will hop to the average position.
Alternatively you can snap an endpoint to an anchor point. Put your cursor on the selected endpoint that you want to move and drag it till it snaps onto the anchor point you're aiming at.
