IPhone 4 (bought in December) power button is stuck. Apple won't replace it. Why?
Well that's exactly it.
I have an iPhone 4 that was purchased in December of 2011. I took the phone to the Apple Store to get it looked at, and they won't replace it for free. They are asking for $150 for the entire phone to be replaced, which doesn't make any sense.
The phone doesn't have any type of physical damage, it hasn't been dropped nor hitten. What can I do? If this is how Apple is going to treat their customers, I would rather take my business elsewhere. I've purchased multiple Apple products, this being my fourth iPhone and I've never had a problem before.
Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Ditoh1
Go back to the Apple Store and ask why?

IPhone 4 just turned off, power button doesn't work, won't charge
I was using my phone and it had 30% left, when I went to use it again it was unresponsive, won't turn on. I tried plugging it in and that does not turn it on either. Unfortunately my top power button does not work so I can't reset it and a computer won't recognize it, can anything be done to fix it or at least recover numbers and photos?

To fix it you need to get the sleep button fixed.
No way to recover photos or data from a non responsive iphone. -

Yes, but you'll need to have it serviced by either Apple or a 3rd party repair company of your choice. Not much else for options at this point.

Hi! I bought my iPhone from USA and the power button doesn't work. I have warranty. I will come to UK soon. I wanna learn; can i benefit my warranty in UK?
The warranty is not and has never been International. Warranty and support are only valid in the country of origin. The only exception is for devices sold in the EU where the EU is treated as one country for warranty and support purposes.

I have a virgin moble iphone that i found, the power button doesn't work and the phone is saying disabled, what can i do to fix it?
Probably nothing, the phone has a high likelihood of being stolen and if you try to Restore it you will run into Activation Lock. Turn it in to the local authorities.

Iphone 4 power button is stuck down and iphone won't turn on
My iPhone 4 power button is stuck down, and it won't come back up. The next best part is, my phone is either off or dead i don't know which, and i plug it into my computer/wall charger and nothing happens.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My iphone 4s power button is stuck. Is there any chance that it can be fix?
My iphone 4s power button is stuck. is there any chance that it can be fix?
This will be covered for free under Apple Warranty. Until you do this, a software workaround is a Virtual Lock Button in Assistive Touch on iPhone. Tap Settings App>General>Accessibility>Assitive Touch>ON>Tap new Virtual White Screen Button>tap Device> tap Lock Screen. If you hold down on the Lock Screen Icon it will give you the "slide to power off". To turn iPhone ON, connect to Power Source with USB Cable, via Charger or Computer USB Port.

Just got my iphone 5 last week and the power button is stuck now what
is my phone under warranty and can anything be done?
If there's no evidence of user damage (like you dropped it and that's why the power button is stuck), then your phone will be replaced without charge.

My 4s is locked out because we forgot the passcode. I can't restore it from iTunes backup since I can't turn it off because the power button doesn't work. If I treat it as a stolen phone and erase via Find My iPhone, will I need that power button to work in order to get it up and going again after restoring?
The phone is pretty much disabled if either button doesn't work.

how can i fix a stuck power button on an apple ipjone 4s
If there is Warranty or AppleCare take to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, it is a difficult fix, but possible. Apple handles this with perfect replacement iPhone 4S exactly like yours for $199. A simple work around is Assistive Touch, Settings App > General > Accessibilty > Assistive Touch > ON > Device > Lock Screen. This can even be used to turn iPhone OFF, to turn ON connect to power, charger or USB of computer.

My iPod Touch power button is stuck and will not pop back up. My iPod Touch Repairs and Service Coverage is still active, Does that mean I can get a new iPod Touch?
Apple will most likely exchange it. The one you receive will be refurbished.

My power button is stuck and I have the white screen of death!
Hello and thank you for reading this post, the answer is desperatly needed.
What's the problem?
Okay, a couple of months ago I smashed my iPod 4th Gen screen unfortunatly. I ordered a new screen and decided to fit it last night. Upon powering the iPod only a white screen shows, I was told that I have to hold the power button and the home button for 10 seconds. One day, before the screen was broken, I pushed the power button and it got stuck down and wouldn't come back up so I have always had to use the assistive touch and plug it in whenever I would like to turn it on. Obviously, because the power button is stuck down I cannot hold it down and press the home button to reset the iPod.
Is there another way around this or is there a way to get the power button to come back out?
Thank you
- Stay SafeYou can't backup the iPod then.
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs and restore via iTunes:
For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
or
http://joshuabailey1997.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/recboot-v1-3/
If necessary:
Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
and
RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
For MAC or PC
The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
Installs blootware on PC too
For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If data is not in the backup then:
- If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
- Maybe you can get some info from the restored iPod via How to perform iPad recovery for photos, videos

Power button is stuck on my 6th generation ipod nano (two ipod same problem)
I've got two I pod nano touch 6th generation, and both of them have the same problem: power button is stuck.
both have 1 year and some months, so the warranty is over
One of them has 2 button stuck, the up volume and the power button.
I've read many users had the same problem, Apple should do a recall, because too many ipods are affected by the button stuck problem!!!
I feel really dissapointed by Apple...
Any Help?
ThanksThis is a known and very common issue with the 6th generation, the buttons on the newly bought 6ht gen nanos last about a year and all refurbished ipods (the ones you get when you send your ipod in for repairs) last 6 months if you are lucky. A refurbished ipod is basically someone elses ipod that had another problem. You should not buy or send them in to be repaired, or buy this model new because it will break and you will be dissapointed. My fourth 6th gen broke last night, the power button is stuck, like my last 3 ipod 6th gen nanos.
