IPhone 4 bumper/Apple dock not compatible

Sorry to have to tell users this, but the $29 Apple bumpers that supposedly improve iPhone 4 reception will render the phone incompatible with Apple's $29 dock. It's easy enough to take the bumper off every night and put it on again the next morning, but it's also inconvenient and not in keeping with Apple's "everything works" technology.

Okay, so I am mistaken, but it is also not clear with Apple Airplay, what video streaming will work. Apple should be clearer on what does not currently supported airplay such as movie or Quicktime. I am a big fan of lists that have checkboxes next to the items that are supported. However, with iOS 4.3 I think my "imagination" and "mistakenness" will finally be reality...so my question is mute.

IPhone 3G Dock not compatible with iPhone 3G (or 3G s)

I bought an iPhone 3G dock a few months ago and I'm having problems with it. I had an iPhone 3G and recently upgraded to the 3Gs. This problem is on both phones, but more often seen with the 3Gs. When I plug it in, I get the message telling me "this accessory is not compatible with the iPhone and asks me to turn on airplane mode. When I say no, the message haunts me multiple times. It's really annoying when I charge the phone at night since the screen turns on multiple times, waking me up; or when I have it charging on the dock and an audio out cable plugged into external speakers. (When the message comes up, the audio stops). I've heard a few people talking about this but haven't found a solution. Is this just "the way" it is with 3G docks, or is mine faulty? If so, has Apple recognized it and honors a warranty? It's pretty annoying IMHO and seems pretty out of character for Apple Quality Control...

I occasionally get that message with a standard iPhone usb cable -- the once that came with my 3GS. This could be due to debris in the connectors: It would not take much to make for a bad connection.
You might want to try cleaning them by using a clean dry toothbrush.

Sony iPod Dock Not Compatible with iOS 4

I play a 3GS through a Sony HD-radio with a dock on the top. Upgrading the 3GS to 4.0 resulted in a popup that says "this accessory is not compatible with iPhone." It was yesterday - now it isn't. Apple: Did you break accessory compatibility on purpose? If not, will you please fix?

I invested in a nice expensive Sony wireless speakers sound system with an iphone dock. Worked perfectly until the stupid 4.0 update came out, and now it brings out the same stupid error message all the time and I can't play any streaming media, on the sound system, which was the main reason I bought the originally compatible sound system. Great job apple !! They are trying to expand too fast, and now they are producing mediocre products ! I am really upset about this ! I just want to downgrade the **** software back to 3.1 and then never update it again :?

Accurian iPod Dock Not Compatible?

I just bought an Accurian iPod Dock for my 80GB Classic iPod. However, it does not work when I try to connect it to the composite out in my TV. The iPod just says, "TV Out Enabled, Please Connect Video Accessory." I'm guessing it's not compatible, but is there a way to make it work? Or should I just return it?

There have been many many reports both here and elsewhere of the iPod Classic not working with 3rd party accessories.
It seems Apple have changed the way the Classic interacts with these accessories.

Dock not compatible?

I get the "this accessory is not made to work with iPhone" when I put my iPhone on the dock to synch. I would imagine the Apple dock would be made to work with the iPhone, Anyone else get this message? Any thoughts on what I should do? I don't get the message when I use the cable only, just when I use the dock.

That's merely an indicator that the dock is not shielded against interference from the cellular transmissions of the phone, so you may hear some static (but you probably will not). You can simply tap No and the dock will work fine. Annoying, yes, but not otherwise a problem.

Apple programs not compatible with iPad

I have a iPad and use Apple's remote with it to control my iTunes music.
I have to extend the (iPhone)Remote software to 2x. Why isn't Apple support his own software to use with the iPad?
Why isn't there a iPad version (hiRes) to use on the iPad?
This is just an examble .. there are other Apple iPhone programs that are not available in a iPad version.

Is the iPhone 3G's dock connector compatible with the 3GS?

A few days ago, my iPhone 3GS stopped charging. After some research I've determined this is due to a faulty dock connector. I'm out of warranty so I can't get a replacement from Apple, and I don't want to purchase a new phone since a new iPhone is rumored to be announced as early as next month. I've been using my brother's old iPhone 3G in the meantime, but now I'm wondering if I can just take the dock connector out of the 3G and put it into the 3GS. Does anyone know if this will work? If they aren't compatible, I noticed that Amazon sells some cheap third party dock connectors. Reviews suggest that people have had varying experiences with them. Does anyone have a recommendation for an inexpensive third party connector?

I've just spent 2 hours before work last night, and another 3 since getting back, trying to figure out why iPhone 3G syncs kept dropping my Skype and Shazam apps.
Performed 3 full time-consuming restores.
Then every other bit of online advice I could find.
Clicking "reset warnings" finally revealed this ( image included )
I had always trusted iTunes to know *** phone I had . . but I guess not.
Then a chat with a Skype agent reveals they don't support older versions . . or my 3G phone without iSO.4 !
Are ALL companies so out of touch with those struggling in the economic realities since 2008 ?!

To answer that question you would have to ask those companies.
To get around the issue, you could always install the older versions of those apps that do support iOS4, if you still have them or can find them.

New Apple Keyboard not compatible??

I was looking to purchase a new Apple Keyboard (wired) for a G4 Powerbook but the system requirements say the machine must have OS 10.5 or higher. Is this true? The Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad only requires 10.4.
I wouldn't have thought that a keyboard would not be compatible with a G4.

You can go to the System Preferences --> Keyboard and Mouse and check "Use F1, F2 etc keys..." and F7 and F8 will work.
But I don't know where the function key is on those new keyboards.

Send to iPhone from Apple Maps not working!

I'm sure this question has been discussed many times here, but yet I'm posting it again because I didn't find an answer for the issue I'm facing.
I installed Mavericks yesterday and was testing the 'Send to iPhone' feature of the Apple Maps. Clicking the Share button did display my iPhone, and the maps did its animation of swooshing the screen to my iPhone. But, I didn't receive anything on my iPhone. No notifications. My iPhone is running iOS 7.0.3 and has iCloud enabled and everything else syncs between my iPhone and Mac (like Reminders, Calendars, Notes etc), but not Maps. I don't know why.. I predominantly use Google Maps on my iphone, but I thought this would be a cool feature with Apple Maps.. Oddly, I don't even see Apple Maps in the notification center.. I don't know why that is.. I have enabled Apple Maps within the location services, but this app couldn't be seen within the notification center (not even in the Do Not Include list of Notification center).
Can someone help me with this. Also, if you could let me know why I don't see Apple Maps in the notification center, that would be greatly helpful..

FWIW: I've only tried it once and I saw nothing on the iPhone to indicate it had received anything, but when I went into the bookmarks area of Maps, the address I had sent was there. Is this how it's supposed to work -- or should there be a notification appear on-screen?

Iphone 4S in UAE not compatible wih Norwegian itunes settings

i bought a brand new iphone 4s in Dubai UAE but when i restore it from my itunes(originally created and used in Norway) i can not access the internet on 3G....does any one know why and what i can do in this case?

I simply used the method mentioned above, but used the downloaded ispw. file that came from Apple. You see everytime iTunes downloaded it, it deleted it into my trash because it failed to update, so I just used that ispw file instead of finding one from some unknown host site.
Anyways I managed to use that ispw file and yes it worked, but what happened was when it asked me to set my device up as new or from back up it wouldn't allow me to use the most current backup that I just synced.
It kept giving me that error message about no being able to restore from back up because the session failed. So, I had to set up as a new device and lost all my app data.
At that point I went back and tried to restore from that back up again only to find that it was gone and replaced with the newest one.
So I have to play through Angry Birds again and slice up some more fruit in Fruit Ninja, no big deal. Just wondered if there was a way to get that previous file to work.
Why did this happen to begin with? Is it going to happen again? Is this a hardware problem? Should I call Apple?

Iphone, ipad, apple tv not showing up in iTunes

I have 4 devices, iphone 4s, iphone 4, ipad2, and apple tv 1st gen. all were showing under devices in itunes. now none are. I remember a messege came up the last time they did show in itunes, that said, "could not sync device, unable to fine file". now no devices in itunes. what do I need to do?

I went ahead and tried reinstalling iTunes, but it did not help. I then tried resetting the AppleTV to factory settings. It has shown up in the Devices list again, but it immediately started "syncing" or so it said, but I'm not sure how thats possible since all of my data is stored in an external drive which was disconnected at the time because i had my laptop with my in front of the TV trying to get this all working. I must say, I'm not too impressed with the Apple TV so far. It does not yet seem to have the polish of most Apple products. Hopefully the new firmware will resolve a lot of these issues. I think I may have jumped the gun in canceling my cable service.

Greetings. Trying to set up new iphone 5. Backed up iphone 4 (old phone) with icloud. In going through the set up process with iphone 5 (new phone) I am stuck at the "choose backup". It is not allowing me to select the most recent back up because "No iCloud backups are compatible with the versin of IOS (6.0.1) on this iPhone). Any suggestions? Thanks.

You will have to setup as New, then re-install your content from your iTunes Library or re-downloading: Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

Iphone 5 apple store not working

The Apple Store is not working. It wont show apps in Charts, Featured, Search. It was working yesterday. I've rebooted, but it still does not work.
