Iphone 4 Calendar Alarm Issue

I have a problem with the calendar/alarm in the iPhone 4.
When I book an event with alarm, the alarm alerts you with a lag of 8 hours (vs the time of my location, i.e. Portugal).
Does anyone know how to solve this issue???
Strangely I never had this problem in iPhone 3Gs.

    So this morning I wanted to get up early to vote and set three alarms: 5:30a, 5:45a and 6a. Obsessive behavior aside, I used two "everyday" alarms (repeats everyday) at 5:30a and 6a, and a one-time-only alarm at 5:45a.
    To my chagrin, the 5:30a alarm actually went off at 4:30a. Ditto for the 6a alarm, it went off at 5a. The one-time-only alarm went off at 5:45a, as scheduled. In all cases, the iPhone clock was accurate (so the clock wasn't off) and the alarm settings had not changed (all setting say 5:30a, 5:45a and 6a). It just seems that somewhere deep in the phone is an hour off.
    This has never happened before this morning. I know the Europeans have been having trouble because their alarms *did not* trigger the end of Daylight Savings Time this week. But this almost seems to be the inverse of that problem.
    Anyone else having this issue? Thoughts on how to fix it?

    I have been using the iPhone alarm for years now, and have never had an issue until now. Since I work at a different time every day, I have staggered alarms set to let me know when to wake up, when my shower time is up, and when I need to get my tail out the door. I use the Repeat "Every Day" selected, then I just change the times the night before. Since Sunday, October 31st, all of the alarms have gone off an hour early and with five alarms per day, I find this extraordinarily annoying. I have tried resetting the alarms, rebooting the phone and searching Apple's website for answers. It seems that so far, they have only acknowledged the European alarm issues. I find it very disappointing that they haven't admitted to even being aware of the problem, and following the tech support option only leads me to the pay for support option. It's your bug Apple, own up to it! Who thought it was a good idea to write a program where the alarm doesn't use the system time? A second year Computer Science major should know better...

  • Outlook/ IPhone calendar syncing issue - adding one hr to EST.

    Is there a fix for syncing Outlook 2003 calendar and the IPhone 4s? It continues to add 1 hour to the phone calendar - I have synced it both ways with the Time Zone Support on and off still no change...this is getting frustrating...any help?

    I am having this problem also. It happens with re-occuring events. The Outlook calendar is correct but the iPhone calendar is changing the events by one hour. I have tried the fixes suggested elswehere regarding changing / setting the timezones but as the OP stated this is not fixing the problem.
    Apple please address this.

  • IPhone calendar sync issues with Outlook

    I have a problem with syncing my iPhone calendar with my Outlook 2003 calendar.
    For example, let's say I had a 12pm appointment today displaying both in my outlook and iPhone. However, when I sync my iPhone after the event e.g. at 3pm, the appointment entry in the Outlook is removed, whilst the appointment entry on my phone remains. I did not edit either of the appointment entries. Even if I re-sync my phone, the 12pm appointment still remains in my phone whilst it's missing in my Outlook.
    Are there others encountering the same problem as well? Any ways to fix this problem? Thanks

    I've talked to them. Very helpful, but no solution. The iPhone Specialist I spoke to had not heard of the problem before. At one point he put me on hold and came back to say that he had checked with some people and they had heard of this "emerging" problem but had no answers. He admitted that all problems are "emerging" problems, given that the product has been out for only 2 weeks. We tried a variety of things with no success. I had to tell him about the manual workaround - going into each appointment, setting it to recur, etc. This does make it reappear, but isn't practical for those of us with tons of appointments. I'm not shocked that they don't want to acknowledge this, given that calendar synching is so important to their targeted business customer base. It's hard to believe that they could have screwed up something that every other manufacturer seems to be able to do well and that is at the same time so critical to business users.

  • IPhone calendar alarm too quiet

    Please tell me I'm missing something here. I have the alarm set for my calendar events throughout the day, and my phone seems to only sound out once and only once with a cute little tiny sound that I have some very important meeting to get to in the next 30 minutes.
    This is not an alarm, this is a gentle whisper when it is in a shirt pocket, but when it is in my purse, or briefcase, this is not by any means an alarm, this is but a silent reminder.
    I have relied on my Palm (Treo) for years to get me on time to all of my appointments throughout the day.
    In addition, is there some way to have the "alarm" continue reminding me until I acknowledge that reminder.

    The answer of "if you don't like it take it back" is just not way to approach people that have issues. We all paid $499 or $599 for the iPhone and we all have the right to speak up. If someone has had the iPhone for over a month with the hope that there would be more updates or whatever, there is no return policy.
    If everybody who has an issue with the iPhone were to return it, that would be one heck of a situation. As you can see, there are a lot of people that LUV the iPhone but not everyone is totally happy with the iPhone at this stage of the process. A lot of these people are consumers and have not experienced the realities of a new product and the twist and turns related to being a early adopter.
    There are 597 pages of threads all dedicated to the iPhone. Given that there are a great number of repeat threads such as "ringtones", "volume", etc. that is still a lot of threads of issues and perceived issues. Cut it by 2/3 and it is still 200 pages of questions, comments, etc. X approximately 15 threads per page, that is still 3,000 threads. This doesn't even count the comments by some great people that take the time to respond.
    Just my $.02 worth of comment regarding "return it".

    I realize that it is different for a woman regarding pockets or belts cases. Have you thought about a lanyard for carrying the iPhone? I have seen a number of them advertised and there was even a thread or two on the subject.
    Just a thought.
    Don't return the iPhone. Live the experience of seeing it evolve into a seasoned product.

  • Outlook and iPhone Calendar Sync Issue

    I’m having an issue where any meeting on my Outlook calendar that is after 3AM and spans multiple days (i.e meeting is from Sunday 4AM to Monday 6PM) it actually shows up on my phone as being Monday-Tuesday instead of Sunday-Monday.
    Has anyone else seen this?

    We have had this same issue on the older through to the latest os. I dont know whether the issue is the iphone diary or outlook.
    We have 2 phones syncing to one outlook account. If I put in an all day event on my iphone when it syncs to outlook it spans 2 days and then when synced back to the phone it honors this, so suddenly I have no idea which day the event is on.

  • IPhone calendar event issue- not synching across iCloud

    Events created on my iPhone will not sync across iCloud to display on my Calendar App on my iPad or on my laptop.
    iPhone 5 iOS 8.1.3 - this started yesterday with no changes having been made to any of my iCloud settings.  On my laptop I get a new icon displays in my doc - see attached image, but when I click on it it just goes away and the new event is not synched.  If I don't click on this icon, it eventually disappears and the event is also not added to my calendar.
    I Can create events on my iPad and laptop and have them show on my phone.  I can create Notes on my iPhone and they sync across devices. 
    I have tried changed the iPhone calendarsync settings from 'Events 1 Month Back' to 'All Events' and vice versa.  On the iPhone I have turned Off synching of calendars, waited and re-enabled synching.  I have cycled power to my iPhone.

    Thanks Sterling - I've read through both those articles and performed all the troubleshooting steps in the iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar - Apple Support article.  I have verified bluetooth is on, I'm on the same wireless network, same iCloud account signed into on all devices, etc.
    Still new events entered on my iPhone do not get added to my laptop or iPad calendar.  The handoff icon shows in my doc, but it does not put the new event onto the calendar.
    Through some more testing, I have also found the same issue with reminders; if I create one on my iPhone it will not be displayed on my laptop or iPad.
    Again I have no problems creating these on my laptop or iPad and having them show on All my devices, including my iPhone.  And another family member can create them on their iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3 and they come across to all my devices; laptop, iPad and my iPhone5.
    Please advise what else I can do, as not being able to create events or reminders on my iPhone and have them sync across devices is a problem.

  • Iphone 5 alarm issue

    I want to use my iphone as my alarm clock and i want to wake up to a song, I created a new alarm, set it to the song i wanted, adjusted the time, but when its time to sound, no music. Only seems to work on vibrate or ringtone. I've tried everything, turning off vibrate, making sure my sound was on and volume up. Anybody else having this issue? Before i turned off vibrate entirely, i would just vibrate over and over. Now, this morning, it was just silent, luckily i just woke up. I turned on my phone and it showed the alarm notification but no sound. I'm at a lost trying to figure it out. My Ipad 4th gen, iOS 6, seems to be fine though.

    If that does not resolve the issue, I recommend sections 1, 3, and 5 of our iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/. If you get to step 3 I recommend closing ALL the apps. Here is step 1 to get you started:
    Restart iPhone
    To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
    Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.

    I know this question has been asked plenty of times before and just need a straight resolution. We have just migrated our environment to Exchange 2010 and the major issue is that when an event is created in Outlook 2011 it is not always showing up on their iphone and also vis versa. Is their a resolution to this problem so I can implement it in an emergency change. Thank you for all your help!

    Here let me explain the scenario again any user who logs in to exchange from outlook working fine password not expired and he has iphone active sync working no issues , now while all devices are working when he starts his ipad after a week or so when he
    opens his email on ipad it prompts the password on ipad and same time on iPhone , he does not want to enter the password and wants a technical justification , I told the user something to do with Exchange 2010 sp2 and ios 7 ,but that is invalid justification
    . if you have any other valid justification please let me know. or a solution to this issue. user wants to login without any password prompt while the password is saved in device and not expired , is there any feature in Exchange 2010 sp2 that would recognize
    how many days device has not logged it and would force to enter the password.

    Does anyone know how to put a event on the calendar and have it remind you about the event over more than 2 days??Cause some of my appointments I'll make for the next month but I can only get the calendar to remind me 2 days before it. I like to be reminded more than 2 days before. My last phone I could set the reminder to where it would remind me anytime time like a week before, 2weeks before, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 days before or even hours before or minutes before. Is there a free app for the iphone3gs that can remind me of events at any time I want or atleast more than 2 days?? Please help!!!!!!!!

  • Calendar Alarms & Events In Different Timezones???

    I keep getting my iPhone Calendar alarms 3 hours early. I just noticed today that it says that the calendar event is in EST, but I'm in California.
    How can I change my calendar events in PST so my alarms are correct?
    My phone's timezone is set to Cupertino, so I really have no idea how this is happening.

    Try to turn off Time Zone Support here:
    Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars (at the bottom of the screen will find Time Zone Support for Calendars).
    I really don't understand why Apple decided to separate your calendar timezones from your current time zones... but they did it

  • How can I extend the calendar alarm sound on my iPhone?

    Before I got my iPhone I used my mobile phones (dumb, android, Symbian) to set an alarm with the calendar. I'm having a hard time properly doing so on my iPhone. My brain is lined with teflon and I forget a lot of stuff - up until now my mobile phones have been vital in remedying this.
    Say that I have an important appointment at 14:00 two weeks from now, I punch it in the calendar on my iPhone and let it alert me an hour before the event. When the time comes my iPhone lets out a measly "beep" that no one hears and I miss the appointment - I can go entire work days without looking at my phone (and phone usage is strongly discouraged at my workplace) so this is really a big problem for me. So far I've missed a couple of important meetings, left important stuff undone and forgot to pick my kid up from kindergarten (my wife usually does, but there are those rare, calendar reminder occasions when I have to)!
    On all the other phones I've owned I'd be able to set the calendar alarm so that it would go on and on and on until I reacted, thus minimizing the odds of me missing the alarm. I have no idea how to make my iPhone do this.
    Sure there are workarounds like making the calendar alarm go off a day before to remind me to create an actual alarm clock alarm for the day after but that really seems to be an uneccesary hazzle and a major design flaw - also, what if I'm really busy when the early reminder goes off and I forget to set the alarm? Or perhaps I should attempt to tame myself to constantly check my iPhone for possible alerts? I really love my iPhone, but if it becomes a handicap i'll throw it away in a heartbeat.

    I was not aware of the fact one could use ringtones as alarms, this will suffice! Although I foresee some very awkward times as the sound does not stop once I respond to the reminder (it keeps going for good five - ten seconds after I "stop" the reminder), but it's better than missing it altogether!

    -Modular747: I don't know anyone who actually reads the terms of service agreement, those things are usually up to thirty, small print pages full of legal jargon. Rules, I do read - not the legal documents (also they often contradict the laws in my country, but that's a whole different story).
    I agree with you - the average customer support consultant mostly cares about keeping his job and earning his salary (don't we all?) and thus racking up completted tasks (i.e. getting rid of customers as fast as possible - in a good mood). The "threat" none the less is real, if a cell phone causes me more trouble than it is worth, I will indeed throw it away (I have done so before) - and recommend a different brand to anyone willing to listen.
    Don't get me wrong, I love Apple and I've been faithfully using and recommending their producs for twenty years now, not because of fanboyism, but because they earned it. This calendar issue, however, is like a toaster that doesn't automatically eject the toast at the set time. I see it as a major flaw and after googling around a bit I see that it's been around since at least 2007 (THAT'S SEVEN YEARS!!) so I strongly believe they are aware of this problem by now, but are choosing to ignore it for some mysterious reason and it really ****** me off.
    I will send the feedback but based on my observations I suspect the Send button is merely a cleverly disguised Delete button.
