I'm having same problem with my 3G. When I adjust my ringer volume it says headphone in parentheses. I can still hear thru headphones. Until u get it fixed maybe u could try this as a temp solution. Good luck.

It means nothing is wrong with the Speakers.. but something MAY be wrong with the Microphone...I suggest..the best thing is to get the phone inspected at Nokia Care..

After we installed a new airport extreme, the imac running snow leopard displays black box msgs saying to hold down the power button and or the reset button and then restart your computer. Can anyone provide info that can help resolve this issue?

Experiencing similar issues on both imac and power book: after replacing an original airport extreme with a new airport extreme both computers display a black box msgs that reads: "...turn off your computer by holding down the power button and or the reset button for a few seconds and then restart your computer."...
one of the printers are usb'd to the imac. The printer is not "seeing" the imac nor will it print wireless from the powerbook which was the norm prior to the upgrade on the airport extreme.
Upon restart, the imac does not "see" the wireless keyboard or the mouse until it is "found" again.
At this time the imac or the powerbook can get on line.

It sounds like your computer is getting Kernel Panics. Please look at About "You need to restart your computer" (kernel panic) messages and if the message seen on your display is like the one in the link then you have confirmed you had a KP. KP's can be tough to track down because they can be caused by software or hardware. The first place to start is to post the complete crash log so we can look at it, often there are clues in the log. You can find it at:

I have got a Iphone 4 that was working till recently.All of a sudden my phone started playing up.The caller cannot hear my voice.some local expert suggested that it could be the soound chip.Is there any solution for this problem?

Try these steps as needed:
1. Reset phone (no data loss): press both the home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears
2. Restore in iTunes using a backup
3. Restore in iTunes as new

If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware problem that needs evaluation by Apple.

If the volume buttons don't work then you can go into settings, general, scroll all the way down to accessibility, click it, turn on assistive touch, go back and a little gray square with a white circle should appear. Click that and then click devices and there should be a volume control there.

I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not powering on. I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this. I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.

Place iPhone on Wall Charger for at least 10 minutes. That is because that Firefox 3.6.x version has been released later than the Firefox 4 version.
If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

Iphone 5 other person can't hear my voice - possible fix.

Hi all
I have a 2 month old iphone 5 replacement from Apple.
Randomly around 1 in 10 calls the receiver says they can't hear my voice. Normally I will stop the call and it takes around 3-4 more calls straight away to rectify the issue. Highly annoying. This happens on the car kit bluetooth parrot as well as pulling over and calling normally.
It was always my wife's number that seem to have the issue so I called OneNet (vodafone) to see if they could see any issues and after around 10 examples and call logs they can't find an issue. I actually got the same issues with some other landlines also so know it's not just one number now.
Anyway ... Having read many similar iphone 4 and 5 5s threads I tried:
1. Reset my handset and restored by iTunes to 7.04 and then my iCloud backup.
2. Changed the sound settings to hearing aid mode and mono sound and also disabled the sound cancellation option. (Incase it was a mic issue)
3. Tested at home and when the call failed once out of 5 attempts, found out that it is fine if you turn on the speaker mode.
However ....
I have had the call voice fail again and this time I sat there with the two handsets wondering why it wasn't working. Pressing the mute, and speakerphone etc.
I then found out that if I pressed the home screen button and then "setting" followed by the turning off the bluetooth the voice suddenly came back on the handset!!!
Is this a iphone bluetooth bug??? Does the iphone think that it stuck on a bluetooth device when you jump out of a car? Or if you are in a busy Supermarket and it's trying to find bluetooth devices? Does the bluetooth being on confuse the mics?
Why when I turn off the bluetooth does the audio return to the receivers iphone? It must be that the iphone thinks it has a bluetooth device connected. This is why when you select speakerphone it works also.
As I have said this has worked twice now so I will be leaving my bluetooth off unless I am driving to see if it cures the issue.
I am certain this is not a hardware fault as my wife has had this with her iphone to me also once so why would she also have the issue on her iphone 5c?
I know this is not the fix for everyone as some users do have hardware issues and are hitting their devices and some are putting cardboard into the iphone.
Apple if this is a fault with the bluetooth then please look more into it on your next update, however it may just be that it's my old carkit or any other bluetooth devices interfering with our iPhones.
Perhaps having the bluetooth on confuses the iphone randomly into thinking it's connected to a listed device when it's not, muting the mics.
Any other thoughts on this?

I have bought a iPhone 4 in Apple Store in Xanadu (Madrid/Spain)when I am in spain for a formal meeting, in Dec.17.2010. After my bussines trip, I have turned back my home and I have activated my new iPhone 4 by iTunes 10. But there is a problem now. When I am calling someone or receiving a call, I can't hear any voice. But they can hear me. This is very interesting issue for me. I have never got any problems like this with my iPhone 3GS. I had a same problem after dropping my IPHONE 4. (No sound from earphone during calls but speaker and headphone working) I tried all software solutions but they didn't work. finally I solve it.
Just drop it again in the same way it causes the problem. ( drop it vertically from the height of 10 cm on a carpet)
and know it is working. It is really strange but it solve my problem and it seem the cause is a loose connection.

For me the problem occurs on outgoing calls.
The person I am calling can not hear me. I hang up and call again and they can hear me.
Issue occurs randomly approximately 1 out of every 4 calls.
I'm using an iphone 3GS with IOS 4.3.3 installed using Optus network (Australia).
When the issue occurs the person at the other end cannot hear anything no matter how loudly I yell into the microphone. I'm not accidentally putting the phone on mute because it is not indicated on the phone that I have and it does not matter whether I am using the microphone headset or not. I'm getting sick of having to apologise to my customers for my phone not working properly.
I tried replacing my iphone 3GS with another iphone 3GS, restored it from my backup and using my original SIM card. Problem still occurs.
Since replacing the iphone did not resolve the problem it must be related to IOS, SIM card or cell carrier.

Hi - we need more info in order to answer your question:
1. What type and model modem do you have?
2. Do you have a Windows 7 laptop with AU version 5.6.1?
3. How far have you gotten in the setup and is the Extreme still in factory mode?
