Iphone 4 Camera is shooting in purple

Was taking pictures and then next thing I knew everything was fuzzy purple but and still make out an image in the backround. What can I do?

I am happy (but unhappy) to see that others are not happy with the new camera! It is awful, i bet i have 100 blurry photos of kids in my house and if i force flash ON, they are washed out of grayish looking. I ONLY bought this phone for the camera. I used my kid's ihpone 4 and no matter WHAT i took a photo of, it had perfect light balance and i said I HAVE TO HAVE THIS PHONE!. unlight my real cameras, even my Canon 50D did not judge light as good as the iphone 4 this last summer 2011. I havent really gotten a good photo from my iphone 4s CRAP is a good word, CRAPPY CRAPPY CRAPPY. I am so dissappointed I could sob.
I also noticed this week that after my daughter updated with the new ios 5, her camera is crappy indoors too.
PLEASE APPLE - hear us, low light without flash isnt a good way to get kids or pets that are moving indoors. and what happened to the PERFECT ios on the ihone 4 from this last summer, I WANT IT BACK, PLEEEEEEESE......Kris

Iphone 3G camera has green and purple stripes

I have a 3G iphone that was working perfectly. All of the sudden, these green and purple "noise" lines started showing up just in the camera app. I restored the software and that didn't get rid of it. I also pinched the case to see if maybe something was loose- still no go.
I know that I'm not the first person to experience this problem but I was wondering if someone had figured out what exactly is causing the problem. Is it the camera itself? Like I said, it was working fine.

it was from the display protector on the screen?
Most likely that is the reason. I have a screen protector on and see similar issues when the iPhone is not on. They're not noticeable when turned on. Remove it and see the difference.

While I was taking snap shot in brighter light using iphone 5 camera, I got the strange result: All picture has Purple Flare because light is trying to enter in camera. I dont know why camera is taking perfect picture.

So it looks like I ran out of AppleCare two weeks ago, what a shame. I guess it's not worth $260 to receive a new handset simply for a dusty camera. However this is still annoying due to the fact that the phone shouldn't have dust behind the lens anyway. I think this situation is a bit unfair since this is a malfuntion of hardware and it is also disappointing that so many people have this problem with the iPhone 5 in particular. :X

Flickering Purple Stripes with iPhone 5 Camera

Hello, I'm getting flickering purple stripes with the iPhone 5 camera sometimes. It mostly appears while taking hi-light scenes ( sunlight, snow ect)
It affects taken pictures and video. Having it since iOS 6.0.0. to 6.0.2. Used to fix it by closing the app and restarting the device. Issue disappeared for weeks. However I found this do not help this time for me.
Anybody with same problem?

Another update guys,
I just talked to Apple Chat Support and the issue was resolved....
The tech support rep asked my phones Serial Number and ask me to do this. This from chat transcript sent to my e-mail and it does resolve my issue... The tech support rep mentioned to contact back if the issue persist...
Maybe this is the start of the troubleshooting for this issue... I just forgot the power button/home button reset routine... Try it guys!
Please reset iOS Device using the following instructions:
1. Hold power button (top right) & home button (below screen) at the same time
2. Keep holding these 2 buttons until a silver Apple logo appears
3. Once you see an Apple logo, release buttons (allow a few minutes for device to restart)

Can I remotely view my iPhone 4s camera's view, from my Macbook Pro?

(I "understand" this can be done with a "JB'd" iPhone. I don't want to go this route.)
And, I also do not want to view the cameras feed through a wireless network, or the internet. (Like the "Mini Webcam" app offers.
I am shooting "static video interviews, tripod mounted, with a Sennheiser shotgun mic.
I can easily tether the iPhone to my MBP, and do so sometimes to save battery power.
It would be helpful both for composing, as well as so my collaborators can see the subject, if the iPhones camera view was visible on the MBP, even if we couldn't see a full resolution image.
I see there is an Apple Digital AV Adapter, for dock connector to HDMI but I suspect this will only work for playing video from the iPhone to an HDTV.
Can anyone cofirm that this connection could work in Camera mode?
Otherwise, is there any way to see my iPhones live camera image on a monitor?

I have unusual dust in my iPhone 5 camera

All my photos taken with my iPhone 5 camera are ruined due to multiple dust spots and even weird purple points (see photo).
this is not normal for a phone which is just 2 years old.

I recently noticed a few purple spots on my iPhone's camera. They don't move, and are always present in my pictures. I tried cleaning the lens cover, and don't see any dust or scratches. Could this be an internal hardware problem? Here are a couple pictures, I zoomed in on the second one so you can see it better. Reason I ask is because it would help me out at my job, and might be helpful to someone else.
I work a resident manager at a storage facility (live on site) and we have to mirror check units to make sure people aren't storing what they are not suppose to and sometimes I have pull out the bulky 8 foot ladder. Or to see if they move out of the unit and left their lock on the unit.
I was wondering if there was a camera/device you can plug into the lightning connector and use your iphone5 as a view finder like a borscope/endoscope.
Because the camera on the back if you reach over a storage unit you can not see the screen, and then if i flip it around to use the face camera i cant use the LED light... also taking a photo using the flash on the back camera does not get a clear picture at all

I have an external HDD that I use for backups once in a while, BUT to be honest with you I last backed up my iTunes stuff (around 30K songs) over a year ago. Maybe it is time for another backup.
In all fairness, the whole time I have been using Mac's (since 2001) I have never had a major crash (knock on wood) so it has not been high on my priority list tbh. This said, how Apple have been acting lately I feel they have become a little too big for them selves and I have started to notice errors here and there, something that was unheard of earlier
Anyway, in most cases it is never the HDD that causes problems and extracting data from these are not a major hinder so I'm good...

The iPhone 5 has a 16:9 screen, yet the photos are still produced in a 4:3 ratio. So what you see on the screen while framing the shot with the native camera app is not the same as the photo you end up with on your camera roll.
Is there any way to fix this? I want my photos to look exactly like how they appear on the screen before I hit the shutter.

I just realized this just now cause there is always some extra frame added when I review my pics on camera roll. This site might illustrate the problem further..

The only solution Ive found is to use an ap Like Camera Asesome or Kitcam App they do use a 4:3 framing and take pics of exactly what you see on screen..
However, I feel this is a design flaw by apple, you should be able to take a pic exactly to what you see on screen... I dont care if there is a black bar on top or in bottom(or both) on screen, rather than having an overscan of what your actually are saving on your phone. And its completely ridicoulous cause images appear with black bars when you review them on Camera Roll where the overscan would be nice (estetically wise , and a double click would reframe to what you actually took)

Looks like that's a "rweturn to store" fault I'm afraid.
Best bet is go through the restore as a new phone procedure, re-sync your files and see what happens but looks like a hardware fault.
Read the Restore procedure to make sure you understand what's involved
