IPhone 4 Canada Release!?

I know it should be sometime in July, but was wondering if us canadians will have the option to preorder or will we just have a release date and does anyone know of when this will be?

Apple updated the online Canadian Apple Store for ordering of the iPhone 3GS, 8Gb version today. It says that it will ship by June 24th, but the iPhone 4 has Coming Soon. On a side note it would appear as if any iPhone sold through the Apple Store would be for full cost, but apparently unlocked to all carriers. The only info for the subsidized price is that the iPhone needs to be purchased in store.
Unless Apple releases more info, or the cellular providers give more info we do not know any other info. There is a link for Apple to notify you of any changes or updates so I would suggest you sign up for that if you want to know the most up-to-date info.

Most of the carriers also have a similar page that interested parties can sign up for so they receive more info when it is released. If you are interested in the subsidized price from a carrier I would suggest signing up with that carrier.

You can find a local shop and pay to get it fixed or you will need to send the phone to someone you know in Canada and have them take the phone into Apple for service. Then they will need to ship the phone back to you. The warranty is based in the original country of purchase.

I am a "stupid-phone" user, with an upgrade option. I see that Verizon will give me $100 for upgrading now, which makes the price on the iPhone 4 effectively $100. With the anticipated release of the iPhone 5 in a few weeks, do you think Verizon will continue to sell iPhone 4s? Will the price be lower than $100?

It's likely that you will still be able to purchase an iPhone 4 after the release of the 5 BUT that $100 trade-in promo might not still be in effect (my understanding is that it is for a limited time but doesn't say when it ends). Do you have a New Every 2 credit remaining on your account? If so, then you can use that (it would be the last time available to use it since VZW did away with the program earlier this year for new customers, but current customers still have/had one more chance to use theirs when their account became eligible for upgrade). Also, since you mentioned that cost is a factor and you're wanting to upgrade from a "dumb" phone to a smartphone then you should be aware that you're monthly bill will go up based on the data plan you choose. That might not matter to you if the cost factor you were referring to was solely based on the cost of a new handset, but sometimes people aren't aware that they don't have the choice of not having a data plan with a smartphone.

If officially unlocked, yes. Bear in mind, if you purchase the phone in Saudi Arabia, your warranty/support will only be valid there, & you won't have FaceTime. FaceTime is banned, by law, on all iPhones sold in Sausi Arabia, & there's no way to add it back.

In what way did you buy your iPhone? If you paid full price at the Apple Store then your phone should be provider unlocked and should work with practically any SIM card you choose to insert in it. If you bought it cheaper with a contract then it's provider locked then your best bet is to call your cellular provider in Canada. Be sure to note your IMEI number (Settings > General > About) as they're going to need it to do an unlock. Be aware they may or may not charge for this.

If buy a unlocked iPhone from Canada and want to use it in the states, can i still get warranty services and apple support in the states ?

If you have to get a replacement phone for any reason, you will probably have to get it from Canada. The service replacements stocked at US Apple Stores are locked to AT&T.

This is not the iPhone forum. If you'd looked there, you have learned already that we are all just fellow users here and have no idea when the iPhone 5 will be released in any country where Apple has not yet announced a date. Keep in touch with the cell carriers in the UAE; they'll know the release date as soon as anyone will. Or keep checking the online Apple Store for the UAE, where Apple will, I'm sure, post the release date as soon as it's set and announced.
