Iphone 4 deactivated. Unable to connect to iTunes due to passcode (known)

Hi,
I met this issue and don't know what to do next:
I put my iphone 4 into deactivated mode without removing the passcode first.
When I connect to itune, itune complains about the passcode. However, on the iphone 4, only emergy call mode is available. There is nowhere I can input the passcode.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

What EXACTLY did you do?  There is no "deactivated mode". It's not something you can select from a menu on the phone.  Do you mean you input the incorrect passcode too many times?
If so, you will need to restore it using the computer you normally sync with. If the passcode was set AFTER you backed it up the last time, you will need to put it in DFU mode and restore it as a new device.

  • IPhone 4S unable to connect to iTunes

    I don't usually connect my iTunes to my iPhone, so when I started trying today to transfer music from my iTunes library to my iPhone, neither my computer nor my iTunes detected my iPhone as a device. When I connected it to my computer, it does show that it's charging, but it just doesn't show up on my compupter at all. Even when I tried the iTunes-Wifi sync, it couldn't detect my computer. Later on, I tried using dfu mode and updating/redownloading iTunes too but it didn't work. Anyone can help me with this issue here? x.x

  • Iphone 5S unable to connect to Itunes

    Like many others I updated my Itunes a few weeks ago to the newest version; my Iphone was also already updated to the newest version, and before I updated my Itunes it was able to connect and sync without a problem. Afterwards however I haven't been able to get it to sync. I see others have had similar problems on here. Anyone figured out a way to fix this issue yet?

    I assume that your phone is not seen at all? If not, this is commonly security software. Follow this and it should get you up and running: iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

    Yesterday I reset my settings on my iphone 4 to correct a problem. Today I am unable to connect to itunes to sync my phone. The device does not show up on the screen. What can I do?

    Best practices says plug the USB cable into the computer, then plug the 30 pin connector into the iPhone.
    If everything is working correctly, you should be able to plug the iPhone in at any time. Before or after opening iTunes.
    Depending on what settings are selected in iTunes, the program may or may not automatically open when you connect the device.

    Hi,
    Thanks.
    I have tried signing out and in, still does not work.
    Still just get the previously mentioned "messages".
    I wanted to restore, but then you have to turn off "find my ipad/iphone" but this is not allowed, as I cannot connect to the itunes/icloud or app store. The units work with current apps. EG; email etc, and with apps that do not require current updates.
    Thanks

    I had the same problem. It appears that the servers chuck a hissy fit if you don't download your purchases in a timely fashion. I used the 'report a problem' feature in my iTunes account to contact customer support via email. They replied about 24 hours later, reset my download cue and the problem has now been resolved.
    Hope this helps you solve your issue.

I have tried signing into my account in the general settings iTunes & App Store settings and it says the same message, unable to connect to itunes. My iPhone connects just fine, and it is the same account. Anyone else having this problem??

    Same problem, except it isn't working on my iPhone either. Started about 20 minutes ago.

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
  • HT1904 unable to connect to itunes store
    I have been unable to download apps on my IPad. It gives me an error UNABLE TO CONNECT TO ITUNES STORE. Is anyone else getting this error and if so how can I fix it????
    Been getting it off and on the last week or so on my iPhone. Right now, in fact. Usually I shut the app down, then re-start it and it works. Not this time though. Can't get it working no matter what.
    I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
    As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
    I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
    As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.
    Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
    Unfortunately, the data on your phone is already gone if you're seeing the connect to iTunes logo.
  • Unable to Connect to iTunes Store for Apple TV Purchases
    For the past 2 days I have been unable to make purchases from the iTunes store with Apple TV. I get the message "Unable to connect to iTunes Store. Temporarily unavailable. Try again later."  Despite this message, I have a valid internet connection and I can still connect to the iTunes store to preview movies and TV shows content with my Apple TV. I just cannot make any purchases. My Apple TV software is currently up to date and I have valid credit in my iTunes account.
    Apple support have suggested that I contact their support community to see if anyone can help me resolve this problem.
    Also having issue, it is ridiculous. Kinda defeats the purpose of having TV if you can't stream any content from iTunes since the change to no hard drive. Come on Apple, I think your better than this.
    I have read on a couple forums that they suspect Family Share as the issue, does everyone have Family Share on? I for one do.
