IPhone 4 Defective - Other Issue

Hi I have a question,
I made a Genius Bar appointment for this already, and here is my issue:
I purchased my iPhone 4 32GB from an Apple Store about 27 days ago. I never had this problem before, but I just noticed about a week ago, on the display right about in the center a little up there is a small circle (in a black outline). The circle isn't filled with a color, it's just a black outline odd shaped circle. I gave it a week to see if it might go away, but I still have the problem.
Now, if I take my iPhone 4 32GB to the genius bar appointment, will they give me a brand new iPhone since it hasn't been 30 full days yet? Stuff like this really dissapoint me that I pay close to $400 for a device, and things like this occur, and I would be just as disapointed if Apple gives me a "refurbished" device instead of brand new..

The iPhone has a proximity and light sensor which is located above the earpiece with the iPhone 4. These are located above the earpiece with the original iPhone as well and are located to the left of the earpiece with the 3G and 3GS.
Per the written warranty, an exchange under warranty will be a new or refurbished iPhone with no way to tell the difference, and the exchange remains under the warranty for the original purchase. An exchange under warranty is called a service unit and is provided in a plain box with the iPhone only regardless if the exchange is new or refurbished. A refurbished iPhone includes a new exterior and a new battery, and all other components are inspected and tested and replaced if needed. When a new iPhone model is released, it isn't likely that Apple will have any refurbished iPhones available for an exchange under warranty within the first 30 days after the initial release date, and a 27 day old iPhone that has been activated and used for 27 days is no longer new. Would you prefer that Apple take your existing iPhone apart and repair/replace whatever needs to be repaired or replaced if needed?
It doesn't matter how much an electronic device or any type of product costs. As long as humans are involved, there will be hardware failures. As an example, a Mercedes costs more than the average car - visit a local Mercedes dealership and it will be full or Mercedes being worked on for items covered under the vehicle's warranty.

I bought my iPhone 5S, after owning an iPhone 5. I have to say I like my iPhone 5 better. Does anyone else with the iPhone 5S have problems with lots of apps, even apps that come with the phone, just automatically closing or having problems with there phone just automatically restarting it's self when you are using it and the apple logo appearing? Hopefully, not. Maybe I just got a dud. Also, anyone seem like the battery is bad?

Hey so my iphone has been doing the same thing I've had it replaced already 3 times in less then 3 days and so now I'm with señor advisor and she told me to uninstall all my apps and tbh since I've done that my phone has not been freezing or giving me any issue at all at times the screen would like flash or glitch but since removing my apps it hasn't done that so I'm guessing it has to be an app I have that's causing the iphone to do that?
But when I go on safari it would freeze but the rep told me no matter what the app could still be causing the phone to freeze since it updates in the background so I'm starting to think its snapchat do you happen to have snapchat on your phone?
If yes uninstall the app and see what goes on cause I noticed most of my crashes in diagnostic and usage say snapchat on their so I'm suspecting its snapchat but it's just a guess I could be wrong

An alternative is to use a 12v USB power plug and then just use the standard lightning cable to connect with a length of your choice ( to some degree)
Same rules apply use a premium manufacturer rather than a cheap no-name from eBay

Iphone 4s phone call issues

I just bought an iphone4s, white, 32gb. Sometimes when I make a phone call the person that I am ringing cannot hear me but I can hear them. I have to turn the phone off and then on again, then call them before they can hear me. I dont have the phone in a cover as yet. Is anyone else having the same problem and is there a solution?

New apple iPhone 5S heating up issues in a day. Please give a solution or why it is happening ?

I was having the same problem and also loosing battery life - it suddenly happened. I went online and saw where someone said to get rid of all the unused apps still sitting there, deleted all the old posts and yea! suddenly the problem has been fixed. Hadn't deleted the unused apps in quite sometime, so obviously draining everything.

It seems cranky sometimes works, somtimes not. My other issue - is there a way to create a mail signature using the font I use in Outlook (or can I import that signature)?

Twist charm swipes not working and other issues

Hi all,
I just got a new Twist a few days ago and am having some issues with it. I got it on line from Staples who have a very limited return policy so I need to get these problems resolved quickly or will have to return it in a few days. I really like it a lot and would hate to return it and deal with the replacement, double charge on my CC until they get the defective Twist and refund the bucks, not to mention the shipping hassles.
I've installed all updates including the Lenovo updates, updated the Bios, did a factory refresh and went through the update process all over again and also calibrated the screen.
So the problems I'm seeing are the swipes from top to close an app, left to view open apps, and right for the charms will intermittently stop working but you can still tap on apps to open them and slide the app screen left \ right.
The other issue is that occasionally the app screen will shrink and expand or open an app without being touched, I would have it on a stand in tablet mode and watch it expand \ contract, and suddenly bring up an app like Remote Desktop. I contacted Lenovo support they said it was a hardware issue and recommended returning it but I'm reluctant to do this and hope there's a solution for it.
I did notice was that moving to portrait mode would usually work to bring back the swipe functionality. Digging into it a bit more, I think I found the root cause, when it is in tablet mode with the keyboard folded back, the keyboard isn’t getting fully disabled, watching it closely I noticed that a cursor would sometimes appear \ disappear momentarily.
Any thoughts or advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!

okay, let's make really sure it is the entire iTunes folder. a typical one looks like this on the inside
the red arrow points to the heart of your iTunes library - the iTunes library file, the iTunes database. you will want to treat this file as the apple of your eye !
anyhoo, if indeed the entire iTunes folder is on the external, simply drag it from there to <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music on the new Mac.
since a folder by the same name is already in that location, the finder will tell you so and ask you if you want to "replace it with the one you're moving". confirm that you want that.
when the copying has finished, fire up iTunes and you should be taken to the exact same library you were used to from your old Mac.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

THE use of the apple support is a mess also.
I want to be able to use my MAC fully and easily like I used to with Snow Leopard.

The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ...

This is a very good question without a straight forward answer! I searched high & low & even went to the apple store to get it figured out. there are many ways to recover some other but 30+gig ? I have a 4s 64gig phone with 30+gig of other & no one could tell me what other is or how to remove it without a clean wipe of the phone, which does not get to the bottom of the issue anyway.
I have been really angry with apple on this subject. Well today I figured out what my 30+gig Other was It is anything that itunes & or iphoto cannot control or chooses not to control size wise. I'm not sure how big the files need to be before Itunes & Iphoto crap out but I use my I phone like a universal utility tool. Today I found 2 camera video files that itunes & Iphoto would and or could not recognize or download = other files Geeeeezzzz are you kidding me??? Anyways I had to use an app to remove these files from my phone & bammm I got my 30+gig back
this is the app I used (iMacsoft iPhone to Mac Transfer.app) since apple Iphoto, Itunes & image capture could not POS!

Reception vs. Other Issues

Many have complaints about the now well-known reception issue. Personally, I'm not troubled by it since my iPhone 4 has been in a case since June 24. That seems the solution that works for many. Yet we still have about half the posts here on that topic -- something we know only Apple (or a case) can resolve.
Some users are having other issues and come here for help which other users in this user-to-user forum might be able to help them with. But their posts are getting buried in a deluge of "Apple must fix the reception problem" rants, including some to the effect "I know a case will solve the problem but I shouldn't have to buy a case".
Folks, if you have a reception (aka "Deathgrip") problem don't bring it here. Apple knows about it. The New York Times knows about it. And everyone here knows about it. Get a case. Get Apple support. Return the phone. Whatever.
My personal choice will probably be to go elsewhere for my iPhone discussions. I have a case and my iPhone 4 works great inside it.

I agree, the issue is significant and reported by the major news agencies across the globe. The root cause however is that Apple have not put together a consolidated and clear response, this allows noise to continue.
There are many forums out there to discuss technical for sure. Most users will look up the manufacturers in some slim hope they will get an official response. Not condoning this, its part of the human value stream

You can get faster help by posting the Mac OS version you have and more details about your iMac. They have been in continuous productionsince 1998 with four distinct procesor families, and each ahve different troubleshooting steps. If you called a Ford dealer about a car problem, the first thing ithey will ask is "which Ford model and year?" Same deal here.
The processor description is found when you do "About this Mac" and will be a good start for identifying your iMac model; the Mac OSX will be there too.
