IPhone 4 died while trying to update iOS 4.0.1
Hi,
I am currently in Australia and I just purchased my iPhone 4 from the Apple Store yesterday. I downloaded a number of applications after and I tried to update my iOS tonight via iTunes however, my iPhone just died after it finish updating. I couldn't even restore it anymore. Are you kidding me Apple?
What should I do now?
I'm in NZ, and have basically had the same issue. Finally bought the phone after a complete drama with the release, got to own it for a total of 18 hours before it completely died and I had to take it back to the store.
i was replying to a text message and a call came in at the same time - it completely crashed. Plugged it into itunes(PC) and it initially said that it was in recovery mode, I turned away and looked back about 10seconds later and that option had disappeared and the iphone would not do anything after that. It was fully charged (it had JUST been taken off the charger) and after a call to apple they declared it a hardware fault and to take it back.
Now I have to sit and wait for stock to come in before they can replace it. UGH.

I'm trying to update my ios from 4.1 to the newest one but each time i try to do it, I get an error message 3194, I tried to trouble shoot by turning off my virus protection as well as delete and reinstall itunes but nothing works which was suggested by the FAQ's from itunes. im facing problem while trying to update my iphone 4 from version 4.3.1 to iOS 5. While processing the downloaded 774mb file, it comes with the statement that the network connection timed out. why???
i have been dealing with this same issue, tried to turn off firewall and even turn of antivirud but still it gave me the same error.

I keep getting an error while trying to update to iOS 5. I update iTunes this morning to the lastest version so I know that isn't the problem. I have tried restarting both my computer and my phone, but contine getting "The iPhone could not be restore. An unknow error occurred (3194)." PLease help! Thanks in advance
I am also getting the error 43 when the update tries to back the phone up. Im using the latest version of itunes. This is on an iphone4, I am in the UK.
I tried deleting all of the historical backups to see if a fresh backup folder helps. It did not.
Ive tried running iTunes in 'administrator' mode on my Windows 7 machine. This made no difference.
Ive tried putting the phone in airplane mode. No difference.
I tried getting it into restore mode just to see if it worked on a iphone4. However it did not seem to want to do it.
Im not not too sure about proceeding with this update as I done want to loose any of the apps I have. (or 3 my 3 stars in every angry birds level on all 3 versions of the game!!)

I get a message that my network connection has timed out while trying to update my iPhone on iTunes. Has anyone else had that problem and if so what solutions have you found? I was told to turn off my firewall and/or virus protection while updating but am nervous about doing that for obvious reasons. I'm also disgusted with Apple not providing free tech support.
