Iphone 4 Email problem, cannot reply or send an email only receive.

I have my new iphone4 setup and working perfectly interms of receiving email from my various accounts. However, when I attempt to replay or initiate an email nothing happens.
I have reviewed all the setup options and cannot locate where the problem lies. Has anyone else had any problems and if so can you share the solution.

I only recently started having this problem in the last week or so. I've had my iPhone4 since the end of June and suddenly, I start experiencing weird quirks and this was one. This morning, I finally powered down and restarted the phone and responding to and creating email works again. Give that a shot. If that doesnt work, perhaps try removing your email account from the phone and re-adding it. <<shrug>> I dunno... Anyway, good luck!

I resolved both my problems. The problems with Walgreens is that my own Frontier internet connection is very slow and will allow only minimal downloads. When I used a Verizon Hot Spot to download pictures they downloaded without any problem. So I am working iwth Frontier to resolve my slow internet speed. The problem with pictures be syncronized to a gallery was resolved by using the Help column and the pictures were easily deleted by following their instructions.

I was facing similar problems. I could easily send email from all of my accounts at work, because we have our own mail server, and I could make sure I had the correct settings. However, at home I had to use edge. Sending mail over WiFi was a no-go. Your idea to use the gmail smtp server was the perfect answer. Now my email is sending no matter what network I am on. Thanks.

Your email provider has blocked the standard mail port 25 for sending emails and is requiring a different port. This is to avoid mail relays that use mail clients to send spam. You need to find the port that is used by your provider for sending outgoing mail. Then change the settings in your email account on your phone to match the port. You will also have to provide some security credentials for the account.
You can also try deleting the email account from your iphone, and the adding the email account back as this will many times set the correct port for sending emails.
You could also do a Google search on the the settings for your device with your email provider. That will provide you with the proper settings.

My phone isn't sending texts and only receiving some and I can't ise any Apps or Safari on cellular data.

I think I can help with the Cell usage issue.
You may in fact have cell data turned on, but it may be turned off for specific apps.
Please go to Settings...Cellular.
First, ensure that Cellular Data is turned on.
Next, scroll down the page and you should see a list of all your apps.
Make sure Cell data is turned on for the apps in question.

Clearly there's something wrong with the configuration. Reverting to some other mail application (whatever the 'standard' one is...) won't help.
What does the Connection Doctor (Mail -> Window -> Connection Doctor) have to say about it?
Chances are your username/password for your SMTP server are incorrect.

Verizon Email Problem, cannot send to email address with new gTLD

I found out that Verizon Email system does not allow me to send any emails to those new domains with more than 3 characters in their last portion. e.g. [email protected]

1. I've never seen that happen. Could you copy the error you're getting? I'd like to try to duplicate it for my own edification.
2. You report it by contacting Verizon tech support. There are options on their Contact Us page in the footer.

I receive emails but cannot reply and when I compose a new email it cannot be sent out. Help!

My email worked well for a year. But this week I cannot reply to any email I receive. PLus if I compose a email I cannot send it out. Other people in my company are not having this problem. It has to be something I did but cannot figure it out. And ideas?

Migration problem - cannot REPLY / still showing o...

I've just been migrated - it went very smoothly - well done at that stage.
I then opened my In-Box and found two problems:
1. Major problem - When I click on Reply it creates a new email from me to the sender and shows sender's email (all as before) but it won't let me enter my reply. The mouse marker doesn't show. SOS please!
2. Minor problem - I've changed my email address in an attempt to get away from the 20/30 daily spam emails. I've changed from (1st name).(surname)@btinternet.com to "aaaa.nnn@" etc but when I enter my mailbox, it still says "Hello, old email address". Only a niggle - will it go away by itself?

I've probably caused the problem and have made it worse!
I got the Welcome email from BTMail and opened my inbox. At the top were two urgent emails both needing urgent reply. I replied to the first one but when I tried to reply to the second one I got the problem outlined above so I closed it down and posted here.
I've just tried to go back in again but I'm locked out because I forgot to click on the link in my first Welcome email to confirm my email address!
It's telling me that I can't enter my In Box until I click on the link but I can't do that because I can't get in to my In Box to see the blasted thing!!
I tried asking for another email but it still won't let me in. I will not change my email address again so have I an alternative?
PS Presumably the fact that I didn't click on the link has stopped me from replying for a second time - i.e. the system is programmed to allow one reply (to the link).
PPS There's a copy of the Welcome email in my old name inbox but there's no link shown.

Iphone 3g pop3 email problems when having more than 1 email account.

after checking and re-checking settings for pop email accounts [ follow the apple settings example for setting the first email account] i found that the iphone 3G does not support having more then one smtp server in other words it does not supports - different smtp servers.] so the only way to make two or more email accounts to work correctly is to use only one smtp server for all the email accounts and this will allow to send emails from more than one email account.
i think this is a bug on the iphone 3G......!!

I access two email accounts with the iPhone's Mail client - an IMAP account and a POP account. The accounts have different authenticated SMTP servers and I have no problems sending with either account.

What di I need to do to get this corrected? Being able to respond to emails when not at the office was a key reason I went with this phone. Can someone help?

You need to contact Bell South to make sure that you can send emails through your email account while on a different network. I hace Charter for my isp at home, and they do NOT allow emails to be sent through their email servers if your not on the Charter network using Outlook or simular email client. The only way I can send emails if I am out of town, is to use their web interface. This is incorrect. They have instructions on their website to set up an iPhone, BB, or Droid to send and receive email. . I have been receiving and sending mail on my Droid since I picked it up in April. In fact if you look around the Incredible board, I have detailed instructions on how to set up your phone for Charter. I am sure BellSouth has settings also. They do this to cut down on spam being sent through their systems (thus reducing the load on their servers)

The phrase "Powered by Yahoo" is just a customization of the IE brower. It is a registry setting that can be changed to say anything you want, or remove it all together. It does not have anything to do with Yahoo for access or emails of any sort.

Here is my scenario...
User fill a form and then send it via an email button.
Is it possible the receptian of the form to reply click on an email button to the sender?
The Reply email button will get(with a script) always the value(Email address of the Sender).
We are using Outlook.

To be honest, I think that a visible field for the user to input their email address is going to be the best way.
Acrobat has a property called 'identity' in the Edit > Preferences menu, which contains user information, including email address. However this information only exists if the user has manually typed this into the preferences.
You can access the identify properties using a trusted function, however this can be troublesome, because you need to distribute and install the javascript file into a specific folder on ALL of your user's computers.
In addition if the user has not specified their email address in the preferences, you cannot get this data.
Lastly, there appears to be an issue if the form is Reader Enabled in Acrobat. There is a discussion here: Keep user from printing and seeing certain pages
All in all the trusted function is flaky and liable to failure. Outside of databases or some back end system, I can't see an easy to automatically harvest a users email address.
