Iphone 4 frozen and can not reset by sleep button

my iphone 4 is frozen and I can not reset by pressing sleep button since the spring in it conveniently broke after the warranty ran out. I need help, this is my young daughter phone and she is out of town and she has it with her. Trying to reset it on icloud but it only says to go to your mac computer which I have windows computer to reset the phone. Anybody know what to do?

If you have a Mac computer (I'm not sure if you do or not), try to reset the phone by syncing it with the Mac. Unfortunately, I don't know of any other ways to fix this issue -- the broken spring presents a large problem. You might need to end up going into an Apple store and buying a new phone. You should be able to have the sim card in the current phone be put into the new phone, but since the warranty has run out, you unfortunately will probably not be able to get a replacement phone.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

my iphone will not get out of a locked function. The phone at the bottom where you usually slide to unlock in changing in Japanese, and other symbols. As well as I can not see anything or turn the phone on when unplugged. after the screen has done the Japanese thing it acts like it needs to be plugged into computer to download itunes and states that it needs itunes to be restored. Once I plug it into computer it only shows apple screen. Any help?

Try forcing a reboot on your iPhone. Hold down the Home button and Sleep button simultaneously for about ten seconds. Ignore anything the phone does and do not release until the screen goes dark and you see the Apple symbol. If your iPhone still wants to connect to iTunes, do so and see what happens. If there is still a problem, click Restore on your iPhone's summary page in iTunes. First restore from backup to try and preserve your content, but if this fails, you may have to restore your iPhone as new and manually set it up again. Good luck!

You have to set up your phone and activate it using iTunes before you can use it. Start iTunes on your computer, plug in your iPhone and follow the instructions for activating it.

J2EE_ADMIN locked during the upgrade and can not reset it

I am doing Solution Manager upgrade and it is stuck because j2ee_admin password is not correct.
I want to unlock and reset the password but this is what happening .:
1. I try to login with old j2ee_admin password but it is not correct.
2. I re-check with updating same to configtool but no luck
3.I have enabled emergency SAP* ID and can login to Visual Admin so
4. when I try to access UserAdmin so that I can unlock j2ee_admin it gives me error as Application error occurred
during request processing
Is there any way to reset /Unlock j2ee_admin even though NWA/ user admin is not available.
Please help me so that I can move ahead with upgrade

Lost "Encrypt iPhone Backup PW and can not Restore iPhone from iTunes?

Late LATE night attempt to Reset iPhone via USB connection to iTunes ened up insread with me Erasing All Content and Settings from iPhone directly after encrypted back up of phone to Macbook then attempting Restore from Macbook to iPhone. Lost most of my iPhone contacts and still cannot remember or find copy of pw for encrypted backup UNLESS that is because my Macbook is now encrypted with FileVault. I put a copy of the password for encrypting iPhone Backup in my 1password app and am positive it is good is only being rejected because Macbook in now encrypted. All I want is my iPhone contacts. So I am de-encrypting my Macbook now. Kind of in a pickle when you loose the only copy of you resonal contacts. Can anyone help sort this mess out? My level of computer competence is really lacking.
If they would just stop spying so much these things (encryptions, FileVault etc) would not be nessaccary.

The syncing is happening through the cell network not the wifi so it didn't help to turn off the router. Here's what I ended up doing that finally worked:
I restored the backup. Before I could use the phone, it takes me through a few steps. On the icloud step, I actually skipped it, so I didn't enter my password. At that point the phone was usable again so I went to settings>icloud and turned off Contacts. I double checked and my contacts were still on my phone. THen I went to settings>icloud and entered my password and the turned contacts back on. At that point it asked me if I wanted the contacts merged and I said yes. A few minutes later my contacts were still on my phone and I checked my icloud account online and the contacts had been syced there as well. Finally! It worked!

Password does not work after time machine restore and can not reset from CD

The hard drive failed on my Power Mac G5. I replaced it and restored everything from Time Machine. The two non -admin accounts I can log into fine but my password for the admin account does not. I tried resetting it booting from the OSX CD and using the password reset utility. It says it has done its thing but then I reboot and try to log in same problem. It even has the old password hint. I changed that so I could see if it worked. I tried both my account and the root account out of desperation. Any help appreciated!

IPhone 4 - bought and can not activate

Can anyone out there help me, as I am going around in circles!!!!
Lost my iPhone 4 just before Christmas, insurance company will not cover loss (don't go there!) so I have had to purchase a handset only iPhone 4.
To try and save a bot of money at Xmas, I purchased through a private sale. Phone arrived, no problems and inserted the new microsim O2 had sent for when I got a new phone. Activated sim with O2 and inserted into phone.
The phone I believe has never been used therefore I need to go through the configuration, i.e telling it British, UK region, location services, Wi-Fi networks, then when activating phone it says 'only compatible SIM cards from a supported Carrier maybe used to activate iPhone. Phoned O2 who say sim is fine and activated, they said it seems the phone maybe blocked.
Went to Apple Store in London, and they said it was purchased in Ireland and therefore maybe blocked by carrier over there. I contacted the guy who sold me the phone and he said although he had not used the phone in Ireland, he had put in an Irish sim to test phone before he sent it to me.
How do I go about unlocking the phone so I can use it?????

ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Most require that you are a current customer with several months of service AT LEAST under your belt before they will unlock, and then there is a charge.
According to this list: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1937 All of the carriers in Ireland offer unlocking. Contact the carrier it is locked to and find out what their requirements are. In some cases, carriers may not unlock phones except for the ORIGINAL purchaser.

I would read the document in full, but here are the applicable steps for you:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.

If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.

Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).

Do you get the international Google.com website if you open google.com via the location bar?
Some sites like google automatically redirect you to a localized vrsion of the website, based on where your IP locates you.
Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
