Iphone 4 gevey sim cannot be updated for other IOS
I have an iphone 4. It was given to me by my friend from Japan. And i used this here in Philippines using w/ gevey sim. My phone has a Version of 4.3.5 (8L1) and has a Modem Firmware with 04.10.01. I did not updated the version using my itunes in my pc because i heard it would cause a trouble in Signal. I ask a lot of technicians, but they refuses to update the higher IOS due to a same reasons. Can anyone know how could I update my Iphone4 to a higher version, so I could download some games with a higher IOS requirment. Please i need help..
Your phone was hacked to provide unlocking. An upgrade will most likely re-lock it to its original cellular provider.

This is not allowed by firewall/proxy, so this obviously fails.This server is located in a secured vlan and should not have access to internet in any way. I suppose client should fetch the .cab from wsus?

I can set the cab path myself if I use
vbscript to register the microsoft update service, but I don't know which cab url I should use for this.
I've used the same install image before, but I think all servers had access to internet (via proxy) when doing the first windowsupdate. this is no longer allowed. the image is an MDT installation image that attempt to enable the Microsoft update setting
with vbs as described in link above.
Please advice how to resolve this issue.

Well, no, not really. Presumably there is no need to do so. The two environments use completely different classification methodologies which have almost zero relationship to one another.
The issue is this is checked for in the server security audit, all servers have this setting, but this one hasn't. I will need to be able to motivate/proof this point to our security department.
I would say your security department maybe needs to do some of their own self-education on how Microsoft's patch management system has worked for the past twenty years, and more recently, how it has worked with SUS/WSUS for the past eleven years. This is not
new stuff! :-)
Also odd is that on this server I only have one service in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\RequestedAppCategories.
Don't really know much about what's in the ~\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate key either as it's also irrelevant to the WSUS environment.

If so, try instead updating to iTunes 10.6.3.25. (That supports earlier models of iPhones running iOS 6, even though it can't run the new iPhone 5s.)

My iphone 5 has just had an update for candy crush and ever since i opened it the screen has been black and I can't get it to do anything what can I do?
- Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear. (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.) Relaunch the App and try again.
- Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
- Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
- Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
- Delete the App, then reinstall it.
Test the issue after each step. Make sure to quit the app as described before each followup step. -

What do I need to do to fix this?
I have a MacBook Pro, with a Retina Display.No I did not. These apps came with the MacBook Pro I recently purchased. I merely logged into the AppStore and checked for updates. Updates for iMovie and iPhoto both showed up and I clicked on update all and I got the message "You have updates for available for other accounts. To update this application sign into the account you used to purchase it."

As peter says, this is evidence that your phone was previously hacked and was re-locked by the upgrade.
ONLY the carrier it is locked to can unlock it. There is nothing else we can suggest. -

You are in Recovery Mode. Follow the instructions below to recover your iPad.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost. -

Since an iPhone 3G cannot be updated past iOS 4.2.1...the end of the line for that model iPhone...you can't do what you want, so there's nothing to be fearful of.

i have apps to be updated but when i try to update them a message pops out saying "You have updates for other accounts, please sigh in with the other id". Can some one help me how can i still update the same with the new apple id ive created. As i dont have the access to the earlier id anymore.
You cannot. The apps are assigned to that Apple ID and there is nothing you can do to change that. You could choose to download them again with the new Apple ID, any paid apps will need to be purchased again.

As of recently any photos I add to a shared photostream will not update for others and I don't see the updated photos on my other devices. Only I can see them from the device that i've posted from. How come others sharing this photostream are no longer getting the new photos? My iphone (the device i'm adding from) shows 20 pictures in this shared photostream and yet 4 other people that I share this photostream album with and my ipad only show 12 photos. For the past week I keep adding photos thinking people will see them but it just won't update the new ones. Any ideas how to fix this?
You can stop new photos being automatically added to Photostream in iPhoto from iPhoto preferences > Photostream.

Can't get Windows update to download updates for other MS products

Installed W7 Home Premium on a single system and for one or another reason I cannot get Windows Update to download updates for other Microsoft products. MS Office University 365, MS Visual Studio Pro 2013 and Microsoft Expression are also installed on this
system.
I click on Find Out More in the Windows Update page and IE 11 opens. It first goes to http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/vistadefault.aspx?ln=en-au and then redirects to http://www.update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/thanks.aspx?ln=en&&thankspage=5

As you can see there is no change settings button as described at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/change-windows-update-installation-notification#1TC=windows-7 .There is no way I can change settings so updates for other MS products are also downloaded.
Firefox is my default browser; even if I load the link in Firefox I get the same result.

ImranDon't use a web browser to do that. Since Vista, WindowsUpdates are no longer performed in a web browser, it's in Control Panel. (that's why the
www.update.microsoft.com web page is telling you to check Start Menu")
The Change Settings button, appears in the Windows Update applet in Control Panel.
Click "Start", and in the search box, type in: Windows Update. Or, look on Start Menu. Or go to Control Panel/System&Security/WindowsUpdate.

IPhone 5 froze while uploading newest update (I believe ios 7.4?).
iPhone 5 froze while uploading newest update (I believe ios 7.4?). Plugged my phone into computer and clicked to update. I left the phone to upload for a couple hours and returned to see the black screen with white apple logo, and also see that thin upload bar, which seems to have gone across the phone -- looks like the upload should be finished. But the phone is frozen.
I can't turn the phone off at all. Tried holding on/off button down to turn the phone entirely off, but nothing happens. I tried unplugging from computer and replugging it back into the computer. Nothing happens.No, that didn't help. I went over to the ATT store where I bought the phone. They showed me how to do a "soft restart". So now instead of seeing the apple logo on a black screen, I see the round blue logo with the music note in it, with a small font "iTunes" below that. And below that I see what looks like the electric cable that plugs into the iPhone.
The folks at ATT said that if I now plug it back into my computer itunes, it should reset my iPhone. So I just tried it. Nope. The computer makes the sound as if it's recognized the iPhone plug in, but absolutely nothing comes up on my computer screen.
They also made an appointment for me at the Apple store, but that's not until Tuesday.
Any other bright ideas out there?

You can NOT unlock it. Only the carrier it is locked to can legally authorize unlocking it and the Japanese carriers will not do so.
In order to be using it previously with a non Japanese carrier, the phone had to be hacked to illegally unlock it. You can not get help here.
Buy a new phone you can use. -

Bought used iphone 4 at xmas all fine until update for ios 6.1 came up and i hit install. Now all i get is flashing logo. know nothing bout tech...im old.lol tried hookin up to computer and it went to dfu mode but then flashing logo happening again. Apple will not touch a jailbroken device.
You can try restoring as new, but it is not always possible to restore a jailbroken device to a pristine state.
If possible, return the device to the person or store that it was purchased for refund.
