Iphone 4 go back to ios 4 downgrade from 5
Dear All,
Of course I have first searched the forum and yes, I know that I have made a terrible mistake by upgrading my iPhone 4 from ios version 4 to ios version 5.
And I know that there is no legal way to downgrade . (Nevertheless, please confirm, that this is correct, for example can I order some service from Apple?). I am not jlbrking my phone. I like it this way. I do not need SSH.
First of all, I think that iPhone is the greatest smartphone ever. I have tried HTC with Windows Mobile, Samsung with Android. APs are all the same, but iPhone as hardware, design, display etc. is the best.
But after upgrading to ios version 5 I feel a bit like a beta tester. I have many software issues which I didn't have in ios version 4. Maybe ios 5 works better on the iPhone 4S? Maybe the iPhone 4 is not powerful enough? Whatever... JUST PROVIDE A WAY FOR ME TO GO BACK TO VERSION 4 (please)!!!
Example issues:
1) Search does not always work. Needs restart.
2) I am starting missing calls, as if the phone was switched off
3) It is slower overall
So, after upgrading to ios version 5, i started restarting my phone once in two days. When I was with ios version 4 I restared it only 1 or 2 times for 4 months.
Last one - the best of the iPhone is the stability. When I was with ios version 4 I knew I can count on it. It never let me down. Now I am not that sure that I can count on the upgraded one (starts to smell like Windows Mobile....)

Not sure why you're asking to go back to iOS 4 when you know that is not supported by Apple.
But anyway, I have an iPhone 4 and iOS 5.01 works great, so your issues are very likely a bad installation and/or corrupt backup file. You said you "re-started" your iPhone, which could mean a simple power OFF/ON, or maybe you meant reset. But what you haven't mentioned is if you've tried restoring your iPhone, which will likely cure your ills. Try these until one of them works:
1- Connect to iTunes, right click on iPhone, select "Restore from backup", which simply re-loads your backup without erasing anything.
2- If that doesn't fix it, do a Restore and then load your backup at the end. This erases your iPhone but since you re-load your backup you won't have to re-do all your settings and preferences.
3- Last resort, do a Restore and set it up as a new device. If your backup is corrupted then this may be the only way to fix the problems. You'll have to invest some time to re-do all your settings, but it's not all that bad.

Connect your iPhone to Computer. On iTunes left Pane, under "Devices" right mouse click iPhone and select "Restore from Backup..." then select one of the three backup (Date and Time)

How can u downgrade. Apple doesn't allow that. Unless your iPhone 5 is jail broken. iOS 7 isn't even out yet. There Is no way u can get iOS 7 unless it was beta. And if so beta is having some issues.

Sorry, downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple, thus there is no official way to do so. Your phone was re-locked to the carrier it was originally locked to because you hacked it to unlock it. Apple's servers detected such & re-locked your phone. You need to contact the carrier your phone is locked to if you want to get it officially unlocked.

is there anyway i can go back to ios 5.1.1 on a sprint iphone 4s because i hate ios 6 its the worst ever i loved apple and all there products but im dissapointed about this upgrade its more like a down grade and the status bar and everything is so plain im use to the blue signal bars and everything so annyoid about this if anyone knows anything about downgradeing a sprint iphone 4s let me know

You can't downgrade the iOS level.
Try using Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. -

There is buzz all over the internet about how to revert back to iOS 5.1.1 after upgrading to iOS6. Many of the 'experts' on this site simply tell you 'no, it is unsupported' but don't say why. My best guess is they simply don't know, and are spouting 'applespeak' Here is why:
Although iOS 5.1.1 firmware is freely available for download, and there are various 'jailbreak' programs that will allow you to attempt a downgrade, there is one critical part missing - the individual digital signature for your device, and your device alone - the SHSH blob. This is what allows the firmware to load. It can't be downloaded. It can't be copied from another device. It must be saved before you upgrade, something most people that are asking the downgrade question have not done - and never thought to do. Once you have upgraded to iOS6, the SHSH blob for iOS 5.1.1 is gone, and you are stuck, until the applemeisters decide to issue the next iteration of the OS, which may or may not fix your individual issue(s).
My advice to everyone that reads this is to email Tim Cook (tcookatappledotcom), and let him know how you feel. I did. I have been a fan of Apple since the iPod Mini, and now find myself cooling toward this brilliant, but flawed company. -

There is no supported method of downgrading iOS versions.
You can try the standard troubleshooting steps:
1. Reset,
2. Resotre,
3. If neither fix the issues, you can take it into an Apple store for Diagnosis.

Restoring iPhone 4s BACK to iOS 5.0.1
I know that 5.1 is great and all, but I have had NOTHING but problems since installing 5.1 with my battery.
I plug the iPhone in to charge, and it says 100%, take it off the charger and within minutes (and me not doing ANYTHING on the phone), the battery life drops at least 5%.
This has been happening on both my phone and my husbands phone, and so we took the phones to the Apple Store and they replaced them for us.
My husband did NOT upgrade to 5.1 and I did. Since I reverted back to 5.1, I have had the SAME battery problems as before, and his battery has no problems. I have reset my phone probably 7 times since I got it Saturday, each time trying to get 5.0.1 to install back on there, but it never does.
So, my question is.... how can I get back to iOS 5.0.1 without having to go back to the Apple store and have them replace the phone again? Every time I try and restore the phone back to factory settings, it installs it with 5.1.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!There is no legit way at all to downgrade.
