IPhone 4 GSM overheating and battery draining fast.

I recently updated to 6.1.3 and eevr since my phone have been ovrheating and the battery has been draining REALLY fast. I have tried basic trouble shooting that includes mail, wifi, 3g, and even a factory restore to "new phone". The problem persists. Has anyone ls experienced this have found a fix? I also purchasd a new battery and am waiting for that to arrive. i will install this but I believe it is firmware related and not hardware. This is also in part because apple ran diagnostics and had said the battery appears to be oprating properly.
Help for this would be greatly apprciated. Thanks in advance.

IPhone 4 very hot and battery draining fast

I am having an issue with my IPhone 4 that just started yesterday. It is VERY hot to the touch the screen and the back of the phone. It is also not maintaing a charge. I charged it all night and just taking it off the charger and not using it till I checked the time one time it was down to around 96%. I talked on it for maybe 5 - 10 minutes and only talked and it was down in the 70's. By the time I picked it up again once in the office to check battery power I noticed it was down in the 50's. I am constantly having to charge it and cannot stand to hold it in my hand due to it being so hot. Any advice or ideas?

Iphone 4 from sprint and battery drain issues

how many people out there bought a new iphone 4 from sprint and having the rapid battery drain issues? there is a big thread on the 4s but not as much on the 4 and im trying to decide if its best to just exchange it or try more fixes.

I have the same issue. I am with sprint. The battery goes down in 6 hours, mostly in standby and some emails. I can actualy see the battery meter going down every 30 sec when reading my mails. iCloud is disabled as also push notification. The phone gets also hot. This issue is completely stupid and remember, I had iPhones for the last 3 years. My last one was the 4. It is first time I have such a problem. My friends that have the 4S with AT&T do not have that problem. As a mater of fact, I compared today and mine goes down 50% faster. I will have to return it and switch to another provider.

IPad mini with retina very slow and battery drains fast

my ipad mini 2 is only ten months old. After getting the iOS 8 currently on ios8.0.2, wifi internet speed is only 25% of the normal speed (compared to what my imac tested), battery drains 1% every 3 minutes or so. All of these after I restored it to factory setting per Apple support suggestion. is there any fix for this soon? why is the issue only affecting some but not all users? Is there anything I can do for my ipad? I have only been using it lighty (have installed like less than ten app's) but this is still very frustrating.

You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. IPhone 5S Getting Heated and Battery Drain issue

From Past 2 Days , my iPhone is been getting heated and the battery drain is 1% per minute.
Earlier When i used to put it on standby it used to be only a drop by 1-2 % through out night. Now it has gone down to -35% to 40% drain.
I have tried
-Resetting all settings
- Restoring to fresh new iPhone
-let my battery down to 0 and then charge it to 100% again
But Nothing Helped, i am out of the country for work and i visit an apple store here.
Any Suggestions, How do i Fix it?

Iphone 5s 16gb (purchased from Apple Online U.K. on 8th December 2013) was fine until the last two days onwards. I am now getting incredibly quick battery drain. The image is a screenshot taken this morning. Phone was charged to 100% last night and used for an hour or so, with battery level on 50%. I then switched off overnight as I always do.
Turned it back on again this morning and was at 48%!
Now look at it. Do I have a case here for a replacement phone?
P.S. Location services, bluetooth etc all off as they always are. Nothing has changed at all in my usage habits with the phone.

What version of Windows? If you do not install the correct drivers, you may not have any power management in which case it will overheat and suck power. Let's check the Device Manager for devices without proper drivers.

Hot and battery draining fast

Hi All
I installed the OS 5 a month ago and made the upde to 5.0.1 2 weeks ago, until two days ago everything was great.
During the last few days I have some problems with the Battery,
It's draining very fast and the IUphone is extremly hot !
I have Iphone 4 and I closed all the applications from the task manager and still in 4 hours the battery get form100% to 10% !
Someone have a solution how it happened ?

6.0.1 Severe Overheating and Battery Drain

I am depressed. After installing 6.0.1, my phone is now basically unusable. It is constantly hot to the touch. The screen often dims on its own...I assume because of the heat. It takes hours for the phone to charge 10% and 10 minutes for it to go to 0. I tried restoring, no help. I tried turning off all the settings in privacy, no help.

I have just used the restore option on Itunes to my previous saved copy. I am willing to try anything if it might work...but I'm not sure what you mean by the above. What exactly shoud I do (if you can please elaborate)?

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your new iPhone. If you have a new iPhone 6 that you are concerned may be having heat or battery issues, you may first want to try restoring it to factory condition (if you have loaded any apps or data onto it) and testing it in that default state to see if the issue persists:

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

IPhone 5s battery drain fast with iOS 8.1.2

I have iPhone 5s from 1 year. After updating to 8.1.2 battery draining fast. I needs charge the battery 3-4 times a day. I did the restore as new, but no change. Stopping the apps does not help. Please for advice.

I have also experienced this, but I think I have started to narrow things down. First of all, I am on an iPhone 5S 32gb, and I did NOT have any of these battery issues under 8.1.1, but since upgrading, the battery drains more quickly for sure.
What I have noticed, however, is that there are some strange correlations going on with what appears to be ridiculously severe battery drain - my phone will show 50% battery, and minutes later (of normal use, taking photos, screen at about 50% brightness, no overt internet or GPS activity) it will suddenly shut down completely. This seems to happen most WHEN IT IS COLD and I am using it outside.
When I try to turn it back on right after, I get the "plug me in" screen, as one would expect with a dead phone. However, if I wait a few minutes and let the phone warm up a bit, I hold down the power switch and on it comes, and when it comes on, the battery indicator will show 50% battery life again. I think of this as my FALSE BATTERY DRAIN problem, possibly unrelated to the actual battery life. I have only noticed this happening while running the Camera or Safari apps. Looking at my usage doesn't seem to turn up any surprises.
So Apple... what the heck is going on here? Is this an OS problem, is it an issue with your apps, with app conflicts... what is going on?
This is unacceptable. You know after being an Apple user for 35 years now I am not going to switch to Android lightly, but this is pushing me that way, and it is certainly going to keep me from updating to a newer, shinier phone until you show some commitment to supporting your users, who seem to be experiencing battery issues rather frequently these days.
Please at least show some INTEREST in being involved in this solution... I'm not seeing any indications of effort to fix this.

After updating iPhone 3gs to IOS 5 has no service and battery drains in like 30 minutes

after updating my iphone 3gs to the IOS 5 firmware my phone has no service it says searching then goes back to no service i tried reseting it contacting ATT and they could not figure out the problem what can i do also the battery drains faster like in 10 to 30 minutes is fully drained. Was not doing this before the update please help

Perform a restore without restoring from a backup and see if that resolves the issue. You could erase the phone from the phone itself if you don't want to mess with iTunes. I'd just backup with iCloud before doing this to make it really easy.
Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings
Post back with your results. If that doesn't resolve your problem, you're more than likely looking at a hardware problem on the phone, which is probably out of warranty by now.

Synching new photos from iPhone to the new Photos app on the iMac is incredibly slow. Placeholders for the photos do appear but the content stays white (initially) then black. As an example, I started the Photos app some 15 minutes ago and am still waiting for the synch of merely 11 photos to complete.
Since I agreed to pay 4.99 euro per month to extend online storage to 200 GB, I would expect flawless behavior. I am disappointed.

Ios 5 : usage time and standby are equal..battery drains fast

few days afer updating to ios5 my Iphone 4 i noticed that battery drained very fast. In statistic i noticed that usage time is always perfectly the same as standby time...
i disabled icloud , ping, face time, notifications, logged out of appstore but this didnt solve the issue.
i used netstat to check the presence of some connection (and yes, push apple notifications) . I disabled the warnings and it disappeared...but not the problem...
I deleted all the apps i updated right before the problem showed...but nothing....
any idea?

before ios 5 it was caused by Appstore, you needed to log out to fix it.
i solved the problem..but not really sure about how.
I restored the iphone and i restored a back up from icloud. There were two back up, i chose the older one .
After that all the app i installed or updated after were all to be updated yet.
I did that one by one..checking the battery behavior...but all went fine..
back to normality...for now
