IPhone 4 had 30% battery then 10mins later dead flat
Hi,
My mums iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.1 had 30% battery left this morning then 10mins later I tried calling her and it rang out and went to voicemail.. 5mins later she noticed phone was unresponsive and had a black screen and pressing buttons wouldn't do anything oh and she didn't feel the phone vibrate or ring when i was calling... so after pressing both unlock circle and top button and putting on charge it appeared the phone had lost all battery power.
So the phone went from 30% to 0% in a matter of 15mins?
We think the phone may still be under apple 1yr warrant but not sure. But any else experienced this issue and is there any I can do or should it be taken back to apple to look at?
You may have been deceived by the battery power indicator. They are notoriously inaccurate, so it is very likely that the battery had considerably less power than "30%". I don't think this is an issue you need to worry about. Just charge it up and move on.

My iphone 4 turned off yesterday very randomly. I had 88% battery when it turned off. I plugged it into the wall and it said i had no battery, then the apple came up as if it was turning on. It went black again and this keeps repeating over and over. Any help please ?
Battery could be at EOL. Try getting it replaced.

Cracked iphone 4 had it less then a year
ive had my iphone 4 less then a year and the back is all cracked do i have to pay to replace it?
and before i cracked it my botton to turn off the phone stoped working ...Unforunately you will have to pay the OOW 149$ replacement if you do not have APple care + for your device, accidental damage is not covered under the one year hardware warrenty
You're replacement device will have the original devices 1 year hard ware warrenty OR a 90 hardware warrenty whichever is greater. -
i recently lost my iphone4 and erased all my data, then i found it... how do i get my data back
Your data should be on your computer.

I have an Iphone 3gs and today I had taken some pictures and my battery was 8% i was looking at the few I had took. Then my phone died but when I plugged it into the charger and got it on I went to upload the pictures but they were deleted! All my other pictures that i have taken are still there, it just deleted the ones I took a couple of hours before it died!
I was just wondering if there is anyway of getting them back at all? and how common is this?Sounds like your iPhone was hacked to unlock and now updating locks back to the original carrier.
Where did you get the iPhone? -
My iPhone 4 registered 60% battery and two minutes later completely shut down
My iPhone 4 registered 60% battery and two minutes later completely shut down, next day it said it had zero battery and turns back on after plugging in for a few minutes... what's going on? I was using the maps application in the minutes before it shut down on me.
Maybe it's just the battery percentage display that is messed up? Have you done the recommended monthly or so drain the iPhone down to the point it shuts down and then charge to 100%, to recalibrate the readout?
-
My iPhone with 40 or so percent randomly shuts down with iOS 7 and 6. Often with the camera app stating the phone is out of battery. Moments later I turn it back on and the same battery life still appears. It sometimes happens over and over until I leave it alone for a while (still not charging), and then it works.
I think you might get a new phone instead of repairing it as it takes time and you said the repairing center is far from your living place

I have an iphone 5, and the battery is so bad! I was just wonder if anyone had used an external battery before? are they good? can they do damage to your phone? what's the best one to get? any help would be great thanks!
I'd just like to say that ahs70's post on Dec 1, 2013 at 1:17am on Pg. 9 worked for me as well: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5338609?start=120&tstart=0
If your iPhone's battery is acting up you need to determine if it's a software issue or a hardware/battery issue. To do that, after syncing your iPhone, erase/hard reset all data and settings from your iPhone to what it was from the factory as new. This can be found in Settings/General/Reset/Erase All Content and Settings. Then test it out for a day or two. If it's still acting up then it's likely a hardware issue and you will need to get your battery replaced. If your warranty is done than check out this link to get a battery kit to replace your iPhone battery yourself: http://www.ifixit.com/Store/iPhone/iPhone-5-Replacement-Battery/IF118-001#produc tDescription
If your iPhone is now working properly after hard resetting it than it's most likely a software issue. This battery issue only started after upgrading to the new iOs7, so it is obviously related to the update not properly installing itself. What has worked for me and many others is to manually update to iOS 7.0.4 using the full downloaded version of the update which is about 1.32 Gigs.
But first you need to find out what model of iPhone you have, click here to determine if it's GSM or CDMA: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3939?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Then go here and scroll down to download the iOS 7.0.4 complete update for your device: http://www.downloadios7.org/download-ios-7-0-4-ipsw-file.html
Then scroll up on the download page and follow the instructions of updating your iPhone manually following the instructions below: "IPSW with iTunes"
And your done.
Problem solved.
I only posted this because it was a very frustrating problem that no one really seemed to figure out a solution for.
I hope this helps.

I turned my iphone off when visiting the doctor's surgery and now it won't turn back on. It had 73% battery left and I have tried connecting it to my computer with USB but nothing happens. I have taken out and replaced the sim card too. Any suggestions
If wjosten's tip doesn't work try plugging it into a USB charger (not through your computer), wait about 30 seconds and it should come on. If it doesn't remove the cord from the phone and keep trying this. I've had this same issue and found a combination of the reset & charging cable tends to work. Sometimes it takes about 5 minutes for the phone to respond.
Best of luck. -
My iphone keeps blanking out and then when I press then home button it tells me the battery is dead. it has happened to me at 30%, but today it was at 71%, is there a fix for this?
This is often due to faulty battery. Make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple Store for free quick battery diagnostic testing.

having problems installing itunes on computer so I can sysc with iphone. had to download only then installed itunes. getting error trying to install AppleMobileDevice64.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Mobile Device Support entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
i recently brought a iphone 3gs and had it unlocked then my boyfriend restored it to factory setting now my screen just has the apple icon stuck on it any suggestions as what to do?
It is now locked to the original carrier. Sounds like that was Orange. Only the carrier the phone is locked to can authorize the unlock of the phone. You may be able to use it again on Orange, or if they provide unlock services you may be able to get it unlocked, however I have read of many phones that have been hacked to unlock not accepting the factory unlock. This support document will explain about some of the problems you have been having. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3743

my iPhone 5 randomly switched itself when somebody was calling me and now won't turn on. it had 90% battery, I've tried factory reset, connecting to iTunes and nothing works. the phone is approx 18 months old so surprise surprise out of warranty.
My 5S just started doing this on Thursday: every fraction of a second or so it oscillates between connecting and disconnecting with the charger (USB or wall, doesn't matter). Since it's still under the limited warrantee, I took it to the local Mac dealer (I live in a small town w/out an Apple store) and they shipped it off. I'm waiting now for the replacement--telephonless, too!
What concerns me is that many people seem to be having this issue.
You were right to be suspicious of the Apple store employees. Once they replicated the behavior that you experienced, they should have immediatly offered to exchange your phone. Anything else, in my opinion, is unacceptable. As long as your phone is still doing it, I'd go back, ask for the manager and tell them to exchange your phone. -
hey i had my iphone synced to my laptop then i formated the laptop , now i cant sync it back . please helppp
What do you mean you can't sync it back?
Media syncs one way. Computer>Phone, with the exception of purchased items.
File>Transfer purchases in iTunes. You're going to have to set it up as a new device then sync everything back from your iTunes library. You did backup your laptop before you formatted it, right? -
i recenly purchased a new iphone, and had my information transfored from from the old iphone onto the new one. i have either lost, misplaced,or someone else has taken the iphone. the old phone was momentarily out of service, however i had activated the "find my phone" in the settings. i figure the battry has already ran down so if it were in the house i would still be unable to locate the phone.when logging into icloud to try and locate the phone all i can find is the new iphone i recently purchased. does anyone have a few suggestions i might try to locate this phone ,or am i S.O.L. ??????
If the battery is dead the only way to find it is to physically look for it.
