iphone 4 , hear myself on earbuds / earphones during call.. should it be like that ?
because i checked it on few iphones 4 and its the same
is that a bug in software ? (restore to 4.0.1 / 4.0.2 not helps)
anybody have that issue ?
i checked in 3gs 4.0.1 it was the same but less loud then the iphone 4

IPhone ~needs~ an AUDIBLE Battery-low warning during calls!!!

Okay, I've been needing to do this for quite some time. I'm actually surprised to find no one else has made this complaint yet (that I've been able to find).
I am absolutely sick and tired of my iPhone dying in the middle of a call because I was not alerted to the battery's status once it got to 20% or lower.
Does it make sense to anyone else that this happens? You're on a call, to your knowledge the battery was full or reasonably full before but now that you're talking you can't see the screen and you're not thinking about it so you keep talking. A while later your call drops and as you start to curse AT&T once again for the miserable coverage & constantly dropping calls you see that it's not them after all, but your phone's dead battery.
Come on Apple.... How hard can it possibly be to program in an AUDIBLE-IN-CALL alert that tells you that your battery is about to die. This is so basic and simple that I'm finding it hard to believe that this hasn't been addressed before now!!! Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone. I will never need another phone as long as there is some variation of the iPhone in existence. But seriously, this is something that should have been dealt with AGES AGO.
I don't feel like I should even have to be saying this, but when you are in a call, your phone is against your ear, or if you use a headset of some kind, your phone is likely in a pocket. A Battery-Low warning that comes up on the screen is NOT going to be visible. There NEEDS to be a way for the iPhone to notify the user of a Battery-Low status that ACTUALLY GETS THEIR ATTENTION, not simply to remind them AFTER they've got it charging again that, yes, now that the phone is charging and back up from 0%, that the battery is still in-fact below 20%....
I really am a reasonably devoted Apple fan, but I am highly annoyed by this, because while I have had my iPhone 3G since the week they were released, whenever the above problem would happen to me I just assumed it would only be a matter of time before it got ironed out. I mean, come on, Apple's a smart company, and this is such a basic thing that lesser phones have had this programmed into their OS's going back to some of the very first cellular phones in existence, I know, I've owned a few.
Apple, Please. Fix this.

Nothing anyone can do here, other than recommend that you be more aware of your battery life. Keep it connected to a power source when not in use, or if one is readily available when you are using it. I have a charger for home, one for my car, and one at work. I had a same problem after dropping my IPHONE 4. (No sound from earphone during calls but speaker and headphone working) I tried all software solutions but they didn't work. finally I solve it.
Just drop it again in the same way it causes the problem. ( drop it vertically from the height of 10 cm on a carpet)
and know it is working. It is really strange but it solve my problem and it seem the cause is a loose connection.

if it's the exact same issue, either it's a problem with your service or with your software if you're restoring from a backup each time. it's pretty darn near impossible for 3 phones to have the same exact hardware issue, so that's unlikely. is this an at&t iphone? if so, are you continuing to use the same sim card? if so, get a new one and try that out. if that's not the issue, restore the phone as new and make a few phone calls. if the issue's gone away, there's something wrong with your backup

Has anyone experienced on and off augmented background noise disturbances during calls?

ever since I bought my iPhone 5 I've experienced background disturbances during calls which sometimes gets too disturbing that I have to pull my ear away from the phone. i've noticed these noises normally comes on and off and mostly when im in areas which has loud noises. for eg. in my car (i'd be able to hear my car engine in the backgroud when talking to someone) or in a mall (i'll be able to hear noises of people talking in the mall). so im wondering is this a device problem or carrier related problem? and has anyone had this problem before? what should I do to fix this problem?

Tried both approaches with no success. However, yesterday out of the blue I heard a strange electrical shorting noise from the iPhone, and the volume appears to be back to normal and the vibrate mode is working again (for how long who knows). Strangeness...

No volume during calls and music

I am unable to hear any volume at all during calls - both via the handset speaker and on speakerphone. I also can not hear music when played through the speakers. I have checked that the volume is turned up full. However, I am still able to hear alarms, ringtones and notification tones. I'm hoping that this is some sort of software issue. Is there any way this can be fixed?

Did you check volumes under Settings > Sound & notification?
Also, if you press the volume up key, is the phone set to Silent, Priority or Sound?

I'm currently using an iPhone 4S, but my partner has just bought an iPhone 5c. A while ago, before the IOS7 upgrade, my phone would for some reason act as if I had clicked mute during calls. Nobody would hear me, but I could hear them perfectly. The only fixes were to hang up and recall them back, or to switch it to speaker mode and back again. Very annoying. However, after updating my IOS, it suddenly stopped doing this. It was fixed, I was happy, game on.
But recently, my partners phone which was working perfectly fine before the new IOS7.0.3 update, has developed this problem. Exact same issue, exact same solution. I wouldn't mind so much, but shes bought this phone in the last month, its a brand new phone, new software, new model... It shouldn't still be doing this! Whats worse is that when driving, its very dangerous for her to have to keep switching between speaker and not just to get her phone working. (She drivers with the phone in a cradle with hands free on).
This issue is... Annoying. I've found that its not exactly a rare thing, and that a lot of people have had it for quite a while, but the only solution I've seen is to open the back of your phone and cover a certain part with paper/cardboard... Not exactly what we want to do is it.
Does anybody have any advice or a solution to this, as I'm going a little crazy trying to reset everything and fix it!

Same issues here. Sometimes during outgoing calls, people cannot hear me at all, even when the signal strength is good. Only solution is to soft reset the phone. A couple of times the person could hear me for the first few seconds of the call then it dropped completely.
I also experience the issue with the 3G data as you described (I think they are related... i.e., when the 3G data isn't working, the issues with outgoing calls exists too). The phone will just randomly seem to lose it's internet connection, even with full signal strength. Soft reset/toggling airplane mode fixes this.
I called Apple support; they asked if I was covering the microphone during outgoing calls (as if I'm that stupid). Come on Apple, I have a University degree in Computer Engineering, don't insult my intelligence! They then asked me to restore the phone (which I already did). Next solution they offered me was to replace the phone by sending me a new one first (at a cost of $35), or I could send it back and be phoneless for a week while they send a new one (which is not an option for me). I also put on a $30 Invisibile Sheild so if I exchange it, I already lose that. I believe the issue is not with the hardware, since the microphone seems to work just fine. Given that it is intermittent like this, it seems there's a software/firmware error somewhere that gets the phone into a bad state.
Very disappointed that the $800 phone I just bought functions worse for phone calls than the Nokia brick I had 8 years ago.
If anyone has a permanent solution for this that doesn't involve exchanging the phone, please let me know.

I experienced similar behavior (neither Keychain Access nor Safari would start, Chrome cannot access https sites, etc.). It got fixed by following instructions in this article:

Basically remove the ~/Library/Application Support/Ubiquity and restart. OSX will create a new one with the right permisions.

Take it in to an Apple store or authorized service center for evaluation and possible replacement.

You use Restore to get the latest firmware build, not the Update button. You can only use the Update button, if there is an iOS update, say iOS 5.1.

Unfortunately, this is so extreme that it is impossible to continue the phone conversation.
Especially strong is it from iphone 4s to iphone 4s.

Check the Mute switch, which is on the left side of the phone above the volume buttons.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.
