IPhone 4 intermittent crashes - Facebook app issue?

My iPhone 4 rarely crashed before Sunday. The only thing that changed was I installed the latest Facebook app (with the Places feature). Since then, the phone will intermittently crash at random. I've noticed it crashes while in Messages, Mail, and iPod. When it crashes, it returns to the homescreen and I'm able to re-launch apps as normal.
I notice this mostly in iPod, which I use a lot. While playing mid-song, iPod will crash. When I re-launch iPod, it will have returned to the beginning of the song that just crashed. At times it will crash in Messages while I'm composing a text. When I relaunch Messages, it returns me to the message stream I was in, but everything I have typed just before it crashed is lost.
Strangely, it hasn't crashed on me while in the Facebook app. Not sure if the app has anything to do with this?
After the crashing started, I upgraded to the latest version of iOS4, which I hadn't done yet. Didn't help. Have also tried numerous restarts, both hard and "soft."
Any ideas? Makes using the phone a painful process. Before the iPhone 4, I had an original iPhone that never had crashing problems like this.

The apps on my iPhone 4 have been crashing, as well. Tried all the restarts and reboots and nothing seems to help. The Best Buy app is what seems to crash on me a lot as well as games my son plays. Safari also crashes when scrolling down through long pages. Never had a problem before with iphone software. What was originally a minor annoyance is turning into an aggravating experience.

Since upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS 7 the Facebook app is no longer working, I can open it but will crash and close down before refreshing, a meet two second after opening the app. I've upgraded to the version 7.0.3 but it hasn't resolved the problem

Have you reset (hold down power and home button until iPhone cuts off)?

Facebook app issue - lumia 530

I have an issue with my facebook app not updating as u scroll down news feed and group pages
It's not an ipv6 issue as I have a virgin media SH2 router and only ipv4 capability. All other phones/tablets run fb apps fine (ios and android). Issue is only on the lumia - it's not only on wifi - issue remains on hdsp+ also.
Are there any settings on the phone I could try - or anyone else got the same issue.

Congrats on your first post, Darkrage. If you haven't tried checking if there's an available update for the Facebook app, here are the steps: go to Store > search for the Facebook app > tap the Update button if there's an update. BTW, are you able to see the News Feed and group pages when using the phone's browser?

Facebook App issue

Anyone else having issues getting the Facebook App to work? My icon keeps showing that I have notifications but the app itself doesn't get passed the logging in phase. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it twice.

I am having a similar problem with Facebook loading. It has loaded normally a couple times, but each time I have to re-enter my password. More commonly and it does one of two things:
-- logs in and then immediately logs back out (not touching the screen, password verified correct, no special characters)
-- OR i enter log-in info and the logging in message spins and spins and spins. (I've not waited it out to see if it eventually resolves)
Settings for Facebook
General ON
Alerts both ON
Push Notifications all ON
Version 3.3.3
If anyone finds a good solution or is using different settings that work, I would love to hear your input!

Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
If the issue persists...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and Restore

IPhone iOS 5.0.1 app issues

Since the upgrade to iOS 5.0.1, i have noticed apps that require streaming music do not work correctly and the sound stutters. Specific App: MusicDock.
I have also noticed that Facebook does not update correctly and i often have to end it and start it again to update.

did you get the most recent update? also you might have a lot of apps you need to update, or have too many apps open. to update apps just go to the app store and update all, and to close appls double click your home button and press down on one of the apps that comes up until it starts to wiggle and a - comes up, then touch that to close all your apps.

Facebook app not completely deleted?

Hi! My fiancee has an iPhone 3G with the Facebook app installed. She was having some issues with it last night, so she decided to delete it and try to reinstall it. She deleted it (by holding her finger on the app and clicking the X), but when she went to the App Store to reinstall, it's telling her that Facebook is already installed, so it won't let her download it again.
If you go to Settings on her phone, at the very bottom, there is a Facebook menu, but when you click on it, it leads to a blank screen. How can she reinstall Facebook?

Hi, I am also having the same problem, my facebook app was deleted by accident, and will not re-install, as it shows as being still installed, although I still have a blank facebook menu in my settings. The app appears fine in itunes, but refussd to re install after several re-sets and syncs!
Please can somebody from apple help with this issue, as its driving me nuts.

doesn't matter what iphone you have, the issue isn't your phone, but with facebook, either contact the app devloper or look at their support site to troubleshoot. Or leave them a review stating your issue.

Facebook app crashes on iphone 5

I have a new iPhone 5, activated last week. The Facebook app crashes after about 10 seconds everytime I login on my account. I have uninstalled and reinstalled more times that I can count, I have deleted and added back using iTunes, I have changed my Facebook password, I have rebooted the phone numerous times, I have deleted and added back accounts, I have spent hours with Verizon and Apple techs, not to mention techs where I purchased the phone, I have reported the problem to Facebook numerous times (but, of course, they have not responded0, and I even (on Verizon's advice) returned and exchanged the phone for a new one. Upon activation of the new phone, the facebook app crashed immediately. Last night a tech suggested I logout of my account and log back in using a different account. I did this with two different Facebook accounts and they both worked perfectly. When I logged out and logged back in on my account, it crashed. I have mirrored the account settings on one of the Facebook accounts that worked and that did not help. ANY advice would be appreciated. Is it a bad setting in my Facebook account? Should I do a hard reset of the phone? Should I deactivate my Facebook account and reactivate? Please help.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't work quit the Facebook app. Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it jiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then delete the Facebook app and download it again.

have you seen anyone with the apple logo on facebook recently? i'm asking because a simple google search will tell you that facebook is the one blocked the apple logo, or the 'posted from iphone' from showing up. now you've got me wondering.
