IPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) Won't Sync Movies

My iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) stopped syncing videos a few days ago, and removed all the videos I did have on it. Everything else is syncing fine. I double checked that my iOS 5.0.1 & iTunes software (10.5.1) are both up to date. The same goes for my MacBook Pro OS X Version 10.7.2.
iTunes seems normal as if it synced fine, but the "video" app on my iPhone says "No Videos. You can download videos from iTunes." And when I search for specific movies on my phone, none is found. I did a master reboot on my phone, but am hesitant to restore my phone, too, because I always have to re-arrange apps afterwards. Apparetnly, iTunes will remember every setting about my phone except app folders.
Even though this is an Apple problem, it refuses to help me at all, because my phone is already a few months old. Any help from you would be appreciated.
Many thanks!

I have exactly the same issue iTunes 10.5.1 / iPhone 4s (iOS 5.0.1) - impacts Movie and TV Show synch in the same way as described above.

Why can't you update your computer operating system ("desktop software")? What software would that be?

  • IPad (4th Gen Retina Display Wi-Fi) (iOS 7.0.4) won't sync new music from iTunes (Windows).  Only solution found was to uncheck "Sync Music" under Music tab, apply, then recheck "Sync Music" and apply. Any other solution?

iPad (Retina Display) (iOS 7.0.4) won't sync new music from iTunes (Windows).  Only solution found was to uncheck "Sync Music" under Music tab, apply, then recheck "Sync Music" and apply.  This is timely and aggravating.  Any other solution?
I have also tried a hard reset.  I have also gone into settings and checked "display all music".
Anyone know if the new update will have solutions to this problem?

    Successful experience with Apple Care.
If anyone is having the same problem, there's a chance it's an issue with the Mobile Device Manager for iTunes. The key is to ditch the old/corrupt file and replace it via clean iTunes installation.
Here's the fix that worked for me:
    1. Trash iTunes (uninstall); don't forget to trash it from your dock if you have it there.
    2. Head to /System/Library/Extensions/ and trash file AppleMobileDevice.kext
    3. Head to /Library/Receipts/ and trash AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg  ( * this may or may not be there * )
    4. Restart computer (& empty trash)
    5. Download fresh & clean iTunes and reinstall.
Voila! The content is now properly recognized by iTunes, the capacity bar registers the correct amount and type beyond "Other", and now I can put music back on the iPad.

  • IPhone iOS 5.1.1 will not sync voice memos to iTunes

My iPhone running iOS 5.1.1 will not sync voice memos to iTunes. I have tried trimming the memos, and changed the label. No go. The "include voice memos" is checked on iTunes sync, but iTunes won't even create a voice memos playlist. Help? These are brand new recordings, and they are too long to email.

Try Handbrake to convert your movie to an iPhone format.  Then reimport it to iTunes and synch to your phone.

  • 1st Generation Video won't sync movies, why?

I have a 1st generation 30g Video I-Pod. I have always been able to sync movies to the I-Pod that were not purchased from I-Tunes. In general I load the I-Pod with movies and then play the movies either on the I-Pod or through a Home Dock on my TV. Has something changed or is there something wrong with the I-Pod?

It's iPod and iTunes. You'll save yourself some typing. And you need to post in the iPod forum.

  • HT1296 My Iphone 5, IOS 7.0.4 won't sync calendars to my Macbook Pro IOS 10.9.1. I can sync calendars from the MB to the phone but not from the phone to the Mac. There is no tab for the calendar in Itunes now so I don't know how else to do this.

I have a Macbook Pro running Mavericks 10.9.1 and an Iphone 5S on IOS 7.0.4 and I can't sync my calendar from the phone to the Macbook.
It works the other way, Macbook to Iphone.
There used to be a tab under Itunes that allowed you to select to sync things like calendar, notes etc. but this is no longer there, can anyone help?

This was removed in 10.9.  You may have better luck getting assistance in the relevant Mac forum.

  • Apple iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0.1 won't Sync all Album Artwork, some missing

Since upgrading to iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0.1 from an iPhone 4 some of my Album Artwork won't appear or show up. I've read many other Apple Community Forums about the same similar issue however haven't found a resolution to the problem. I hope to make this public and find a way to fix it. All my music is 152kbps at 44100Hz and every album is fully ID3 Tagges along with all accompanied by an album artwork of exactly 600x600px. I cannot understand why some (about 10 - 12) albums artwork won't appear.
    Please help! Any appreciated, thankyou!

I have the same problem. Had my phone replaced today and still doing same thing.
Only thing different lately is that Telstra unlocked my phone

  • IPhone 4 (5.0.1) Won't Sync with iTunes

I am not new to iPhones or Macs, but I can't figure this one out. My iPhone refuses to sync with iTunes on my MacBook Pro. iTunes rushes through the first 3 steps, hangs on step 4 (deciding what to sync) for a couple seconds, then briefly displays "cancelling sync" before it's all over. I updated iTunes and iOS, yet I still have the same issue.
    Any ideas?

There is definitely a problem with iTunes 10.5 and iOS 5.0 syncing correctly.  I've seen lots of workarounds on the forums here.  Just search for it and see if you can come up with something that works.

  • ITunes does not register that my iPhone is plugged in and won't sync. Help?

I have recently uninstalled and reinstalled my iTunes because I was having issues with it. I also had to reset all my settings on my iPhone 4s this morning because of some audio issues I had. Both are now resolved. However, I would like to sync my iPhone to my computer now, even though I have some of my iCloud data on my phone. The trouble is that, while my phone is connected to the computer and iTunes is open, neither iTunes nor my phone are registering the connection. Anyone able to help me figure out what is going on?
The assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,

When I select new books and songs in my iTunes to sync with my iPhone 5C they will not sync. When I select items on the phone to be removed they will not sync. I have iTunes 11.1.5 and whatever the lates iOS is.

I have this problem too.  I have an iphone 5 and on my macbook pro OS X 10.9.2 & itunes 11.1.5.  Whenever I attempt to move music back and forth recently, the sync does not occur correctly (mainly on the end of my phone).  Luckily music I have purchased on my phone does sync to my computer, but I can't get any of it off my phone so at some point my phone is going to be full!

  • IOS 7, some music won't sync

I just updated to IOS 7 and I downloaded new music ( i updated itunes already) and when I synced it, its fine but some of the music won't play it is greyed out with a red circle.  PLEASE HELP

Does the non-syncing music play in iTunes on the computer?
    If so then
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • IPhone 4 stuck backing up, won't sync

Hey there, I know this is all over the boards or whatever, but since the iTunes update of 10.4 I haven't been able to sync my iPhone.
It gets stuck backing up and the bar will progress about, 30% before stopping and doing nothing.
I downgraded to iTunes 10.3 and it works fine, I updated to 10.5 on Thursday for the new iOS and nothing.
    Same problem.
I've tried many different solutions on here, nothing seems to work.
I've uninstalled and re-installed, the complete one following all the instructions.
I went to the Apple Store yesterday, he said it couldn't be my phone or iTunes and must be the laptop itself, but how comes so many other people are having this problem?
Today, I've done another complete uninstallation, plugged it in and it started updating for the new iOS, but it got stuck on backing up again, I cancelled it but it wouldn't stop, I unplugged my phone from the laptop but iTunes thought it was still plugged in.
Anyone have any ideas for this?
