I recently bought an iPhone 4 from a friend and found out his iCloud account is locked onto it and he doesn't know the password, and it's running iOS 7.0.4 so I cant reset it... Please help me?

That iPhone might be stolen.
Without the Apple ID and password, you cannot use the iPhone.
If it's a friend ask for a refund.

Return it and get your money back. If you can't do that, then turn it over to the police. It's useless to you. Apple will not divulge that information to you. The phone is probably stolen.

So, my phone was recently stolen. I offered $150 for an Iphone 5 with an Icloud lock on it. I might buy it but I have no idea what wont work if its locked to the Icloud. Will I still be able to download apps and can I use wifi..

As Stedman says, if it is iCloud locked then you cannot use it at all. It is a paperweight

Hi , so I decided to join the apple side and buy an Iphone, I did a little shopping on Ebay ; not being knowledgeable with the Apple softwares and such I bought an IPhone 5 that has been "Icloud Locked". After receiving my phone and falling in love with the design of it I attempt to activate it which fails. I researched more about this Icloud Locked thing only to discover that the owner of the account is the only one who can remove it along with any apple employee who you can proof original purchase receipt too. I have none of the two methods to unlock it. My question is I don't want a well designed paperweight , I want "my first IPhone" ... if I print out my eBay purchase receipt and bring it to my apple store can they unlock it for me ? - I know some of you may say to return the phone to the seller , but that is highly impossible because it was an as-is sale and it clearly said "Icloud Locked" . I really hope someone can help me out here because this is really dreadful having an amazing device that you can't actually use. its mocking me ,haha. - Thank You . - Giovanni

You can't remove the lock. Only the original owner can do that. Apple won't remove the lock for you because you are not the original owner. I'm afraid that if you can't return it, you have a paperweight.
Next time be sure to check here before buying a used phone from any source: https://www.icloud.com/activationlock/. If it's locked, don't buy it.

Wwhat's the problem? If you forgot your password, re-set it at https://Iforgot.apple.com.
IF it's locked with someone else's account, talk to the owner of the account. You can't bypass it.

I used the phone for about a month with no problems at all, even had my apple ID in the icloud and everything... well ios 7.0.6 came out and I used my computer to restore the phone, because I feel that the cord and computer gives it a better restore, it did great no problems, and when it went to the part where I went to activate the phone, I get a enter your apple id and password to complete activation... Wait... why is this up i thought, I thought I did everything like I suppose to to succesfully switch it to me, the new owner... but now its asking for some C******@yahoo.com.... I only have @gmail.com emails and none start with a C... The guy sold me the phone because he was switching to Verizon, and I tried to call him, and now the number is disconnected... I guess he switched to Verizon with a new number... Now im stuck with a paperweight that costed me $200.00... What can I do at this point... Please help me... it's an anti-theft measure DAH Its Not Stolen SO what the crap Then. I wish thay would Remove it From there Ios and Redo it so it Only Locke if you Report it Stolen or enter Lost Mode. BC thers A lot of PPL that abuse it.

i brought this phone in 2013 and i am sure its a new phone,coz in front of me only the phone is unpacked .
the ever biggest mistake i made is that time i was not aware abt apple id n i told them to activate the phone for me.the guy who is dealing with the software installation activated my phone with his id it seems. May be after couple of weeks i started facing problem like every time it was showing for the apple id password was incorrect.That time a friend created one new apple id for me and i started using that with out any issue. All these happ after the release of IOS 7.1.2 , one day my wife by mistakely formatted iphone with out disabling the Find my iphone option and all these mis happ started.
my question is finally i found that guy who activated my phone ,but he is telling the apple id wat he is using is with domain hotmail.com
n not sure abt the id [email protected] where showing as the id used for activation, as this was happened 2 years before. Is there any possibility where the same id can be used now as same ID with some other domain( for eg domain of our primary mail id present in the apple info like [email protected])
i searched in the check activation lock status its shwoing locked with some id not in the theft mode or lost mode.

Yes, able to make a call to Apple Support but in the end still keep on going to try the Apple ID and Password.
And it seems like the iPhone ID in this device been locked

If you've seen videos on YouTube that show how to do it and if they actually work, why are you asking for help here? The one's that I'm aware of only allow temporary access to FaceBook from some iOS versions. There is a reason that iPhone theft rates are down by large numbers but maybe the thieves haven't seen YouTube. I'm sorry but no one here can help you in the situation you describe other than to say that you would need to contact the previous owner and obtain the password.

icloud just keeps bringing up my old email address & asking for my old password which doesn't exist anymore and when I try to sign out of icloud it wants my old password, when I tried to change my primary email back to the old one it wants me to verify it through an email address that doesn't exist. Please can you help me sort out this nightmare.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

My wifi disconnect from iphone 4g ios 7.0.3 when locked.

when my iphone 4G ios 7.0.3 is locked my wifi connection disconnects and i can't get notifications from facebook,skype and twitter and when i switched on my iphone wifi connects again and the issue is with my ipad mini ios 7.0.3 also...!!

So is your phone TURNED OFF, or is it just in sleep?
Like wjosten stated, if it is switched off, nothing will update.
If it is in sleep, it should still receive updates, even if it is not persistently connected to WIFI.
It should at least connect every 15 or 30 minutes to fetch mail, and connect when someone sends an iMessage.
Facebook & Twitter should update when notifications come in.
This is even if it is not plugged in.
I keep my phone in front of me at work all day NOT plugged in, and I get notifications, emails, iMessages as they come in. I'm not saying my phone is persistently connected to WIFI, but it does connect periodically.

Hello all, I could use some help with my iPhone 4, I hope this is the best place to ask!
The Problem:
I want to do a full backup of my iphone to either itunes or to icloud. Unfortunately the iphone got wet and isn’t working properly. The phone turns on and still works, but the touch screen no longer works. I have a passcode lock on the phone so iTunes will not allow me to backup it up until I type in the passcode (which I cannot physically do). WiFi had been turned off before it got wet so it won’t connect to any known WiFi networks either to backup automatically to iCloud.
What happened:
I had been travelling for 6 months and went tubing on a river with my iphone in a dry bag. Unfortunately the dry bag failed and filled with water ruining my iphone.
What I’d like to do:
It’s an old phone and I was planning on buying a new iPhone anyway. I would love to do a full backup to either iCloud or to my computer so when I get a new iPhone I don’t lose anything. I’ve already connected it to my PC and downloaded all the photos and videos off the phone so at least I haven’t lost that, but I would like to be able to recover all the text messages, WhatsApp messages and notes I had created during my 6 months of travel.
The last time it was backed up to my pc or to icloud was in April, so there are 6 months worth of very meaningful data I would love to keep to remind me of my travels!
Is there anyway to force a full backup of the iPhone without typing in my passcode lock or is there anyway to force it to connect to a WiFi network so the phone can backup to iCloud??
iTunes recognizes the phone just now and I tried upgrading the phone to iOS7 in the hopes that it would first backup and then upgrade. Unfortunately all that happened is the phone upgraded to iOS7, but it didn’t backup to iTunes. Now the phone is stuck at the iOS7 welcome screen and I can’t do anything else with it.
Any ideas or tips would be welcome!
NOTE: This is NOT a jailbroken iPhone.

If there is no other way around this, is there anyway to completely wipe the phone then??
The Apple store agreed to give me a new iPhone 4 as a warranty replacement for $150 (I travel a lot and I have a factory unlocked phone, so this is still worth it for me). But before I trade it in, I would like to make sure all my data is backed up on the device first.
When I try and restore the phone now on iTunes, it says I have to turn off Find My iPhone on the phone first before I can restore it. Now since I can't use the screen I can't really do that.
So how do I completely wipe the iPhone???
