IPhone 4 is alerting me to an accessory not meant for the device when it isnt plugged into anything, how can i fix this from happening?

it alerts me both when its awake and asleep at random intervals, ive tried eveything i can think of including restoring the factory settings and still it keeps happening. what can i do to fix this. also when i recieve a text message with the phone on vibrate, it vibrates twice with the first being short and the second being long. please help with either issure or both if possible

Clean the dock connector and inspect it to ensure no pins are bent to resolve the "Device not supported" message.
For the text messages: Settings > Messages > Play alert tones, set it the way you want it.
