Iphone 4 is DEAD!

Hi...
I docked my Iphone 4 into my car's docking station (specifically designed for apple products in the armrest) started the car, as normal, and the screen immediately went black and the phone had turning itself off! I straight away tried a manual reboot (holding power and home button) to no avail... The phone then became RAGING HOT!!
Once it cooled down I tried plugging into the mains but Phone and powering up but the will not charge at all and remains completely unresponsive... I am now officially phoneless!
All suggestions welcome...

FYI... I went to Apple and they said that the inside looked fine but even with a new battery it wasn't registering any charge.
Then another 'genius' had a look and asked if I was having problems with my home button which i was (It doesn't always click) and said that it may have reverted to DFU mode and the only way to get it out of this is to do a reboot for 20 secs but as there might be an intermittent home button' as he said this may not be possible...
is there any other way to try a reboot or fix the home button??

No, only Messages to other devices with the Apple Messages app. With Continuity the Mac sends the SMS to the phone via wifi/BT and the phone actually sends it.

Try using a differnt USB cord. Or hold down the power/home button together for 10 to 15 sec or until you see the apple logo and then release, wait for your phone to boot back up.

Have purchased music through itune app on my iphone, now my iphone is dead

I have purchased music on my iphone through the iphone app, unfortunately I haven't backed it up in my itunes library on the pc, now my iphone is dead, won't even restore to factory settings, can I retrieve the music already purchased on my iphone or have I lost it all?

On my Win 7 pc, I installed latest itunes and went to the new quick link "purchased" however this only allows me to redownload apps and books,no music. Do i need to wait for IOS 5 for my iphone to enable me to download all of my lost music (as per the site this version of IOS is not scheduled for release until the fall?)
What I find puzzling, is that under my "account details" from the Itunes store on my WIN 7 PC I can see my history of purchases going back to 2005 but cannot download to my devices ?
Any suggestions ?

It's telling you to connect to ITunes and restore your phone. This will have to be done with a USB cable and iphone connector that came with your charger.

Iphone 3g dead after trying new ios 6 instalation

I was downloading the upgrade , my iphone unlocked dead.
I tried to restore throug itune but nothing. After a couple minutes, I can hear the sound when you desconnect the device.
I can not turn on the phone. It only flas the apple logo. The screen does not show anything.

If you are saying that you regularly run your phone's battery down to zero, that could be the problem.
That's very bad for modern rechargeable phone batteries. You possibly have damaged the battery.
Make an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple store and ask them to look at it.

At the very least, I recommend you restart your router, (your internet box).
More detail on your problem is needed - are you in a submarine? On the moon? On a tropical island?
You can help yourself by providing as much info as you can about your present situation - what kind of router do you have? Have you moved it? DId you update it? Did you do anything to change your setup, and if you did, what?
