Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if fixed. If not, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple. If no coverage, clean again with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

When I try to connect my iPhone to my computer, it seems to be working fine (iTunes opens and connects), but still I'm getting this problem when my computer tries to install the supervisory program/driver (I'm not sure how to say it in English since Dutch is my mother language). I had the same iss - it's a known issue whereby Windows attempts to use the wrong driver to access the phone.
BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY!!! Editing the registry can be (read: IS) dangerous and can cause no end of pain if done incorrectly.
- To Back Up your Registry: Click Start menu and click "Run". Type "regedit". Click File, then choose export and type "iphone driver fix registry backup".
- Click Export and let it export the the registry to a file.
- To fix the issue: Follow the folder tree on the left to: hkeylocalmachine > system > current control set > control > class
- Find “{EEC5AD98-8080-425F-922A-DABF3DE3F69A}” down the LEFT hand side and click on it.
- Under the list on the RIGHT hand side find "UpperFilters"
- Right-Click UpperFilters and click delete
- Close the registry editor and restart your PC (without the iphone attached).
- Once restarted and logged back in, plug in your iphone and voila! Windows will actually choose the correct driver and you'll be in like flynn.

Not sure what deregister means to you but you can remove the phone as an associated device in iTunes.
Launch iTunes and go to Store>View my account. Enter the password and then go down to iTunes in the Cloud and click on Manage Devices on the right. You can remove the phone in there. This will remove the phone from the assocation of that Apple ID.
Any apps that you bought with your parents Apple ID will always be associated with that ID and you will have to continue to use that ID to update the apps.

Iphone 4 voice Dial used to work great, but now, I can't get it to recognize voice commands. When i give it a command to call someone, it ends up repeating someone elses name and starts the call. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I have an I phone 4 with 32g. The voice dial used to work just fine, but now it doesn't recognize the words and ends up saying someone elses name and starts calling the wrong person. It even won't recognize a number when spoken to it and speaks back and calls the wrong numbers.
Lately, the phone has really slowed down. I am not sure if this is the problem.. I have closed all the open apps and deleted any extra picture off the card and extra songs that I have downloaded and the slow problem still exists.
Would a reset work to restore the phone to factory settings and if I then resync the phone, would all contacts pictures and songs be restored?

Can't make or receive any calls. When making a call, you see the thing dialing but no tone, it rings at he other end however. When somebody trying to call me, it does not ring at my end. If you try to end the call, the phone page will just freeze, when you exit the phone page to go try the MP3 player for example, and come back, the phone is still trying to end the previous call. I tried resetting the network settings, turn the phone off and on , no difference at all. It's easter Sunday, everything is closed here in Montreal.
