Iphone 4 is switching from text to imessage
I just got an iPhone 4, and I'm noticing that when I send messages to other iPhone users, sometimes they will go through as text messages, and sometimes they will use iMessage. What is causing this? I'm always connected to either wifi or 3G, so what would cause it to switch back and forth?
But I always have internet connection, and so does the person I'm texting. Does it just meant that the internet connection is going out, or not strong?

How to switch from text message to iMessage for 1 contact
I have one friend with an iPhone who all of the sudden in my messaging has switched from iMessage to text messages with working WiFi on and stable, on my iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1.2). This is not a cellular or wifi issues, I guarantee, I am iMessaging other people without problem. She is also iMessaging other people without problem.
I have tried all work arounds I've seen on the web including:
-turning iMessage on and off, turning the phone on and off
-deleting all conversation with her and then sending a new message
-labeling the contact as an "iPhone" on my iPad (doesn't seem to switch label to "iPhone" and "iPhone" is no longer available as a label on iPhone)
-sending an iMessage on my iPad to her and then trying to use same message stream on the iPhone
This is beyond ridiculous that there is no way to switch from text to iMessage, I know how to switch from iMessage to text when the "error" comes up that it can't be sent as in iMessage. Any ideas? You didn't mention trying these two steps:
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your device as new.
... which are listed as steps 4 and 5 near the middle of this article:

Greetings. Do you know if an unlocked Iphone 5S can switch from CDMA to GSM with a sim card, or if you have to choose one capacity or the other when you buy the phone? Many thanks.
Is this a Verizon or Sprint iPhone 5S?

In the middle of a text conversation between another iOS 5.0 iPhone user and myself, the conversation elements switched back and forth several times between Text and iMessage. The phone actually tracked it and put little lines indicating the switch, and my comments changed from green to blue and back again. I can't think of anything I changed in the middle of the conversation. I was outside WiFi range, using the Cell network at the time. Now I tried it again, while i'm on WiFI and the messages are Text (green) again.
1. Windows 8.1 Enterprise w Update is the best. It allows you for sideloading in corporate environment without additional tools and licenses.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/jj874388.aspx
2. N series is for EU (without IE).
3. Profesional is fine, but you will need some tools to achieve the same functionality that you have in "pack" Enterprise.
4. VL is volume license, a type of license for multiple computers (to say it simply)
5. MSDN forum is better alternative for problems like this.
6. Attached to MSDN are licenses or at least references to web resources. Read license agreements carefully and let your installation and use follow the license.

Switching from text view to visual view in SharePoint Designer 2013 crashes 100% of the time
Whenever I am in SharePoint Designer 2013 and try to switch a workflow from text view to visual view, SharePoint Designer crashes. Text workflows work fine. I have tried any of the solutions that I could find including:
- Removing KB2837633 and 2768006 (neither were installed)
- Installing SharePoint Designer 2013 SP1 (KB2817441)
- Performing a "Repair" on both SharePoint Designer 2013 and Visio 2013
- Clearing the caches in the AppData directory
- Setting Visual as the default mode for workflows to open in (so, not exactly switching, but trying to open it directly in the visual view)
Event viewer reports that it is an issue with Microsoft.Web.Authoring.ni.dll which throws an unhandled exception, System.AccessViolationException.
This is the error message:
System.AccessViolationException was unhandled
HResult=-2147467261
Message=Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

StackTrace:

Can anyone suggest something else to try?

Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of Your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
If the issue persists...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and Restore
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes (v11) Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download

Switched from Text & Web by mistake - how do I get it back
I switched from the Text&Web tariff to a Big Bundle because I thought the extra calls would make it better value however I didn't realise that the way that it is charged (on a set day of the month) would make it much more expensive for me. Text & Web doesn't seem to be offered on the website any more so how can I roll back to it? I've had the Big Bundle for 2 months. Will I have to leave O2 to get a more affordable deal including internet again?
Hi I don't think this will be possible. Text and web is one of the old tariffs (my husband is on it) and once you have changed to one of the newer ones Big Bundle and Big Talker...that will be it. You could try ringing customer services and ask 4445 for payg but I think the answer will be the sameThese are the payg tariffs available now..http://www.o2.co.uk/tariffs/payandgoYou may want to look at the tariffs on giffgaff or Tesco...they both use the O2 networkhttps://www.giffgaff.com/index/offerhttp://shop.tescomobile.com/#pay-as-you-go

How so I switch from MMS to iMessage for a specific contact?
I am using an iPhone 5 running iOS7. I was trying to send an iMessage to a contact, with whom I've had many iMessage exchanges previously, and I got the error that it was not delivered. It asked me if I wanted to send it as a text and I foolishly said yes. Now I can only send texts to this person not iMessages. I have tried turning iMessage on and off I have MMS off. My wife is still able to send iMessages to this person. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ThanksiMessage activation is not instantaneous. When you turn it off it takes a couple of days for that to register on the phones of the people who send iMessages to you, and when you turn it back on it takes a couple of days for your correspondent's phones to recognize that you have iMessage again. So toggling it arbitrarily is a really bad idea. Leave it on for 2 days and see if it recovers. Likewise, perhaps the person you are sending to has turned off iMessage.
Normally sending one message as MMS does not make a permanent switch; if subsequent messages do not go as iMessage there's a different problem. Either the recipient's phone does not have a good data connection, or they turned off iMessage. -
How to switch from Bonjour to iMessage
My iChat has changed from message to Bonjour. I don't use Bonjour and I don't know how to change it back to message. Please help. Steven
your response doesn't help the overall problem. For anyone with no data plan and only using wifi like mel_222 and myself, the iphone will not be able to send a message to these people who the phone has recognized as having ios5 unless the phone has a wifi connection because it is an imesssage. I am having the same problem, hopefully someone will know how to switch it. Hopefully this clarifies for anyone who might be able to answer. Luckily I will have a data plan kick in in a week, but I am sure some people who buy the phone outright will be faced with this issue.

Picked up the phone to text and all of a sudden the only way to get a message off was with "writing" it (with my finger)in the small block space it provided. Checked all the settings and could not figure out what had changed. I can get the Samsung swype keyboard back but that is not the one I was using (although I don't know which one I had been using?). There is an option for the emoji keyboard but when I go to select it I get a message that all my text is being collected AND it brings me back to the "writing" problem...ugh. Can anyone help.
Help is here dzimm02! I want to ensure I understand everything that needs to be resolved. Have you successfully returned back to the keyboard from the handwriting option? If not, please tap the icon of the keyboard on the right of the 123 Sym button. Selecting the writing option (The icon that has a capital "T" and a pencil on it to the left of the space bar) will enable the handwriting option. If you want to remove this option from the keyboard you can then select the Settings icon from the main screen applications>Language and Input>Select Swype keyboard as the default OR you can choose the Samsun Keyboard as the default and check Google Voice typing. Please feel free to reach out if you need any additional assistance. Thank you.

Trying to get my contacts from my samsung stratsophere to my new iphone 4s
Where were your contacts stored? On the SIM? Or in a Google account? Or what?
If the former, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Import SIM Contacts, if your previous phone uses the same size SIM card (Micro SIM) as your iPhone, and you have put it in your iPhone.
If the latter, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account, put in your credentials, and make sure Contacts is ON. -
