IPhone 4 lockscreen delay

I just got my iPhone 4s last month. Updated to the 5.1.1. I noticed about 2 weeks later a 1-2 second delay when pressing the homecreen/lock button. This happens after I have left my phone for a little bit without using it. If I am using it the delay is hardly there. I was just wondering if this was a software problem that will be fixed? Or is it a problem with the phone that I need to get fixed? If it is normal for iPhone 4s then that is fine. I was just frustrated with it because I had just bought this phone. Anyone else having this problem?

Hello! And congratulations on getting a new iPhone 4. I am also new to the iPhone/smartphone business but I can tell you that I experienced this slight delay when I wake up my phone.
I don't see this as a problem because I think that is just how it works. Also I just notice the split second delay when I wake my phone up after a long period of having it in sleep mode (couple hours, give or take).
However, if it really is concerning you I suggest that you consult with Apple Technical Support or visit your Apple Genius bar if you have a physical Apple Store near your residence.

This morning I woke up thinking that I should turn off my iPhone and then call it from a land line. If the problem is the network then there would be a delay before I heard ringing.
I turned my iPhone off and called it. Right away I heard my message.
I turned my iPhone back on and called it. It rang right away!
So, did Virgin Mobile fix the problem or did turning my iPhone off fix the problem?
I don't know, but I'll take either. I do know that Virgin Mobile said it would be four days to check the problem. Did the problem get fixed yesterday when the four business days were up. I do know that I've had my iPhone on for a long, long time. Did upgrading to 6.1.1 or 6.1.2 cause the problem and turning my iPhone off reset my iPhone?

P.S. I did call Virgin Mobile and its records show the investigation is still open. I hope my points get passed on to the investigators.

Making calls on my iPhone/ LockScreen and Message freezing

Hi, ive had my iphone for about six months now, im still under warranty and ive just recently been having few problems that are quiet annoying. My first problem , while making calls i can barely hear what the person is saying to me and they can barely hear me, i dont know if this is a general problem but its been happening for about 2 weeks now. Second, when in my lockscreen and recieving messages my phone just flashes and goes black i then click the lock button on the top and nothing happens.. again... nothing happens then after i like click the button repetitivly it finally come back but doesnt show i have any messagesm and when i go to my messages it doesnt show what the person sent.
Im still under warranty is there any chance of them giving me a new phone?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these steps in order until the issue is resolved.
If they do not resolve the issue, take the device to Apple for evaluation.

My iPhone 5 delays texts being received for an hour and sometimes days at a time. What can I do to fix that?

So I have had the iPhone 5 since the day it came out in September. I have noticed, randomly, it will delay texts from individuals and in group messages. It has delayed for an hour or more, and more than once it has delayed for more than a day. I have looked at the sent message time and it says 8:52am but I am receiving it at 9:30am? Or once it kept ringing for like a minute straight as all the messages from a group message came in from two days prior, they have the date they were sent but they don't get to me until much later than needed. I have no idea why it does it either. Any help?

I am having the same problem on my iPhone 5 16gb on Verizon. I did a fresh restore from scratch twice and my messaging is extremely slow/buggy it freezes mid text, mid sending, while opening a photo received photo or sent photo in messaging app. Also I have had the phone just refuse to turn on until I wait for like 1 minute and keep trying. Another issue with the messaging app is that sometimes the messaging app will chime in as a new message is received minutes after I have already read and replied to it.
Do I have a lemon piece of hardware or is this potentially a software bug affecting more users?

What is the small padlock on the top of my iPhone lockscreen?

Hey guys, I am wondering what the small padlock on my lockscreen is, it's directly in the center and it has no arrow around it. The padlock is in the locked position and it has only been that way since I have had trouble turning my keyboard sideways. It used to be unlocked but now it's locked!! Can anyone help me??

I raninto this problem before when it was jailbroken, and the reason was is certain apps I installed from cydia used the processor a lot, which made the phone slow and then when I went to turn the keyboard sideways it didn't recognize it then once I uninstalled it the keyboard and everything else worked fine. So the reason it won't turn sideways is because an iPhone 3G with the iOS 4.1 uses alot of the processor. So it's not any damage, it's just a slow iPhone haha. Why does my iPhone 4S delay text message alerts?

Many times, my iPhone 4S will not alert me as soon as I receive a text message.
Even if I received the text message when it was sent, my iPhone will not notify me until I unlock the phone.
Then it perks up -- "Oh yeah, you have a new text message. You received it 2 hours ago."
I have tried researching this issue but I can't find anyone else who has had this same issue.
All of the suggestions I've found have to do with a delay in sending text messages, not in alerting you to new text messages.
Sometimes I will receive text messages a few hours old but that doesn't happen often enough for me to worry about it.
But nothing I've found so far specifically deals with the alerts.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Any ideas how to fix this?
Note that I have tried all the "standard" suggestions: restarting, restoring, etc.

Did you ever find a solution? I have pretty much the same issue. I will receive text messages but not receive an alert. Then anywhere from a few seconds to minutes later my phone will light up and vibrate but there is no notification. I'll unlock my phone and sure enough I have a text message.
Sometimes, I'll receive a text message when the phone is in my hand and unlocked, no vibration, no alert, but there is a badge icon and I'll see that there is a text, read it, and even reply. I'll lock my phone and a few minutes later my phone will light up and vibrate as if I have a text, but there is no notificaion, no badge icon and it will be the alert finally catching up to the text I received minutes earlier. It drives me crazy!
Anyone else?

You can try these two methods to solve the typing lag
1. Reset all the settings
2. switch ON iCloud documents and data sharing and then again switch it OFF

White iPhone 4 delayed again

Apple has made another statement that the white iPhone 4 is further delayed and not available until later this year now. Check out the apple website and other sites and search it on google. Statement was made today. Man what a dissapointment. Bestbuy needs to allow refunds for white preorders or allow people to get the black one when it's in stock.

Hey guys BB will allow you to switch from the white pre-order list to the black one if they still have a list. Unfortunately the best buy where I preordered my white 32g, has fulfilled it's pre-orders so they are just getting them in and selling them to the public. The nice guy at the store said he would get an email out to everyone that the next one that comes in is mine, luckily I was on a waiting list at a diff vendor for the white one and they let me switch to the black 32 g without losing my place so I'm next there to get one as well. I was going to wait on the white one, but if they are going to redesign anything I'm not so sure they will ever release the white iphone 4 (I hope I'm wrong). I just don't want to be caught waiting until sept or oct and missing out on the next iphone next summer. Luckily, my husband is eligible now for an upgrade from his 3gs, but could care less about the iphone 4, so I could always use his for the white one .

IPhone 5s delayed from 9/24 to 10/7

Ordered two iPhone 5s (one gold, one grey) at 12:12 am PST on the 20th. I received the order confirmation at 12:27 am PST indicating that the phones would ship on the 24th (today). I even spoke with a customer service representative today and was told the phones would ship on time and I should be receiving a tracking number shortly; if not to contact them again. Now, I get an e-mail at 9:07 pm PST that “Due to the volume of iPhone orders received, your entire shipment will not be shipped as scheduled. We anticipate the new shipping date to be 10/7/2013 and will keep you updated if this changes.” Not happy!

Contacted Verizon customer support, still was told we should receive the iPhones on or before. Just checked, my status online and it still reads the phones will ship 9/24! Ah hello! It's now 9/29, where is the new update online.

Album art not showing consistently on iPhone *lockscreen*

iTunes occasionally has trouble with album art, especially after syncs or updates (album art disappearing, or being reshuffled to the wrong mp3s, etc.).
The current problem is different. Normally, with the iPhone's (iPod) music playing, the album art will replace the wallpaper on the lock screen. Lately, this feature has stopped being consistent. Some tracks will display album art on the lock screen, some won't. Those that won't, do have album art embedded (100% certain of this). In one instance, the album art displayed was a mishmash of two different albums' art (again, only on the lock screen). Editing the mp3s to reinsert the album art in iTunes, and then re-syncing, has not solved the problem.
This is probably an issue with how iTunes is handling/editing those mp3s affected, or it may be an iPhone bug. There's nothing outstanding about the specific tracks in question - in every other way they appear to be normal (write enabled, and album art showing in track info).
This problem only occurs @ the lock screen. In iPod view, and album view, display of the album art is normal for all tracks.
I have noticed this also happening with other audio sources (ie, third party audio streaming apps, which normally show some kind of album art @the lock screen).

I too have been having this issue & I've read the articles, advices & other discussions, but none of them fixes this issue. I reboot & still see the wrong album art on the lock screen. It is very annoying especially when you have iTunes with software that was purchased to "automajically" present the correct album artwork. For those of us who actually precise about how our libraries are organized this is a big deal. You spends hours days in keeping things organized, just for the sync to not resemble the labor...
I have both the iPhone 4 & an iPod Touch 2nd gen. You'd think Apple would get stuff like this together before approving it for an update. No one can convince me different... Apple & Windows now both have the same MO! Get a new team of testers.

Iphone lockscreen still english while language is set to italian

I changed the language of my iphone 5s to italian which worked however my lock screen info (date, month) are still in english? why???

Update to iOS 7.0.6. Then it should be italian

Advertisement Pushed to my iPhone Lockscreen!!

While visiting in Columbus, OH last week, I looked at my phone to notice this on the lockscreen!
This appeared for about maybe 30 mins to an hour and then turned back into the picture I had there before. I unlocked the phone and relocked and turned the sreen on and off and this advertisement didn't go away until finally on its own randomly. And no, no music or apps were running that would have caused this, I checked. Is this some sort of new advertising scheme Apple or AT&T is rolling out?? If so, it's ridiculous!! It's very invasive and instead of being able to see the picture of my son who was 5 states away at the time I had to deal with some lame advertisement! Someone please explain this!!

Edit: When I first noticed it I was logged into the wifi network of a hotel I was staying at but the image remained long after I left the hotel.

Look in the status bar at the top of the screen. See the Arrow? ( > )
That indicates the music app is playing. What you're seeing is the cover art for a song/podcast/whatever called "100 Rebate".
Look through your library and find out what it is. If you were using some kind of streaming music app, it could have come from that as well.

Iphone slider delay when anwering - Tip!

I have several times experienced that the iphone slider will not unlock when trying to answer a call, but now I believe I have solved this problem: This seems to be caused by the screen being warmer than my finger tip when the phone has been in my pocket.
Solution: quickly blow on the screen and then slide to answer!

Over the last few days my 3Gs was responding in the same manner. Unlock would sometimes work other times it would freeze. Once unlocked I would try an app and the phone freeze. On some occasions the Home button would work other times I had to do a reset. This went on for two days then I decided to start eliminating some application. I started by deleting the last updated app called Motion X, Drive and that solved my problem. I have an estimated 128 apps on my phone so I'm suggesting that apps can have conflicts with each other. So if all the other attempts have failed and you keep putting the same application back, try deleting a few of the last updates. This is probably specific to me, but it worked. My two cents worth.

IPhone 3GS becomes sluggish after a few hours

have my 3GS since one month now (it's a week 31) and now experiencing the problem that after some hours of usage/standby the iPhone becomes slugglish. This means that i.e. after pressing the home button to wake it up from standby it takes the phone about five seconds to turn the screen on. Using the iPhone is much more slower as well. When putting the iPhone back to sleep mode it will again take about five seconds when waking it up the next time.
I can fix this by rebooting the phone and the system will stay fine for about 24 hours. Then the error comes back. Having this since two days now. There was no software installed or updated since then.
Anyone experiencing similar issues?

Playing sound from microphone on speakers (through buffer) with constant delay

I'm looking for an example of code that samples signal from microphone and
plays it on speakers. I need a solution that has a resonably constant delay on
different platforms (PC, android, iphone). Delay around 1-2 s is ok for me, and I don't
mind if it varies everytime the application starts.
I tried using SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA event on Sound and Microphpne classess.
One event would put data into buffer the other would read data.
But it seems impossible to provide constant delay, either the delay grows constantly or
it gets lower to the point where I have less than 2048 samples to put out and Sound class stops
generating SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA events.
I wan't to process each incoming frame so using setLoopBack(true) is not an option.
ps This is more a problem on Android devices than on PC. Althought when I start to resize application
window on PC delay starts to grow also.
Please help.

Most recording applications have a passthrough option so you can listen as you record. It is off by default to avoid feedback if you are using a microphone.
