Iphone 4 New Replacement Charge Port

Yesterday I had bought a new replacement charge port for my iphone 4 and the replacement part that I had received was different from the one that was installed on my phone. Here is what it looked like,

Here is what the original one looked like,

Does anyone know where I can find the original charge port replacement that I need for my phone? I've looked on amazon and ebay and the pictures arent similar to the original one I've shown. What kind of iphone 4 do I have? As far as I know, Its a white iphone 4 from AT&T. Thanks for any help!

You ordered the wrong part, which is CDMA iPhone 4 part. You need to purchase white iPhone 4 GSM, ATT part. The color is not important, but nice to get right. The GSM or ATT is the part you need for your iPhone 4. You will also need to remove the mic cover and transfer over to the new part. The small black rectangle on the mic flex can be transfered also if you want. And the Home button flex is perfect?

In iTunes with the iPhone connected: set Snyc via WiFi.
Then plug the cord in the charger.
In iTunes your iPhone icon is still visible, click it while holding the CTRL key: then choose "backup".

  • Syncing older iPhone to new replacement Macbook Pro laptop

I have looked through the boards for an answer, but haven't found a previous problem that matched the issues I have been having.
I had my iPhone 3G synced up to a Macbook Pro (2.33 GHz intel Core 2 Duo), and I just got a new laptop (2.66 GHz Intel Core i7). I used Migration Assistant to move my old user folder over to the new laptop, so I'm not worried about my files. However, when I plug in my iPhone (and my iPad), iTunes is not seeing the iPhone at all. My iPhoto IS seeing the iPhone when it's connect, as is Image Capture, but iTunes itself won't even show it in "Devices"
I have deauthorized all of my computers through one of my other machines, and re-authorized the new laptop but still no success.
My old laptop was 10.5.x, the new one is 10.6.3 if that helps.
My biggest issue right now is getting my new laptop to recognize my phone!
    Thanks in advance!
    Erich.

Did you already try to reinstall iTunes again?
And check Apple Mobile Device Service as well. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747

  • IPhone 3G new replacement or refurbished?

    Hi there,
I want to apple retail store as my phone had some camera issues, after checking at genius bar they took my phone and gave me a replacement, it looks really new and never been used, so my question is does anyone have any idea that those replacements are new, or refurbished?
    Thanks in advance.

Of course the Apple store reps will always say the replacements are new because that's what you want to hear. They could be new just as much as they could be refurbs. Refurbs have new cases and batteries so they look just like new. No way to tell from the serial number either.

  • Iphone 4 will not charge when on.

my iphone 4 will not charge the battery when plug to wall charger or computer. and USB is not being recognized.. replaced charge port with same result

Your cable is covered by a one year warranty. Try contacting AppleCare and see if you're still eligible for replacement

If you bought the iPhone from an authorized store/vendor, you should have taken the iPhone to them or any other Apple Store for evaluation under warranty.
Once it has been opened by non-Apple entity, Apple will not do anything for this.

  • My iphone 5 will not charge? i noticed it was taking a few attempts to charge since i installed ios7,but recently it stopped working all together i though it may be the charging port so i have had that replaced but that still hasn't worked

my iphone 5 wont charge? I started to have difficulties charging it when I downloaded ios7 and over time it started to become more and more of a problem, then yesterday I thought it might have been the charging port so I got that replaced but it is still not charging. even with both of my chargers and a friends charger it didn't charge, does anyone have any idea what might be the problem? if its ios7 or the hardware? and what should I do i am still within warranty but I'm not sure if that still counts since it has had a part replaced, or would the apple store be able to help me out?

Replacing the charging port (which is NOT user serviceable) has voided your warranty with Apple, and forfeited your abiltity to receive any further support on that phone, including from this forum.
You'll need to look elsewhere for assistance.

I have recently got a new replacement iPhone 4.  Since I got this I have found that my data allowance is getting used up during the night while my phone is charging on the bedside table.  How an I find out what is causing this and stop it happening?  Some nights the usage is 150 meg!

You can not access the backup directly.
Did you restore your replacement from this backup?
If so then you already have everything in the backup on your device.
If not, you can wipe the device and restore from this backup:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings
What is it you are worried about losing that isn't already on your current device?

  • My iphone wont charge can the charging port be repaired or replaced

my iphone wont charge can the charging port be replaced or repaired

Apple does not repair devices at all.
As stated, you can elect to find a local repair shop to do the work, but understand that Apple does not sell parts either.
Alternatively, you can choose to do an Out of Warranty replacement via Apple and get a 90 day warranty on the replacement device.
Another option would be to replace the device with a more current model.

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5s. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

DO YOU HAVE A REPLACEMENT CHARGER AT A RESONABLE PRICE OR A REPLACEMENT TIP "C"

    Hallo Rzepinski,
Deine Englisch ist nicht so schlecht wie meine Detusch! Anyways, The iBook G4 is a great all around computer. It is great for traveling and anyone who does the "basic" computing. Anything that programs that come with the iBook will work very well with it. Some programs that I use most are with my iBook are Safari (Web Browser), iChat AV (AIM), iTunes (Music Organizer), Address Book, iWeb (Basic Website creation), iPhoto 6 (Photo Organizer/bit of editing), which I use every day, iWork (like MS Office), Mail (Email), and many others.
Do such programmes like Macromedia Dreamweaver run good on this iBook.
Yes, You can find more information about Macromedia here. Just look at the System Requirements there should be a Mac version
How about Photoshop CS? Does it run fluently
You might want to look at this past thread.
On my windows box I use Trillian, is there any alternative for MacOS?
I believe Trillian is just like Adium or Fire.
And how robust is the case of the iBook? I mean scratches and something like this. Because My Windows Laptop ist robust, and it is black. But how does it look like with this white iBook?
I used mine throughout school, its the most robust laptop I've ever seen. Scratches do occur but are not that noticeable.
    I hope that helps,
    Jon

  • Iphone 4 charger port

My charger port seems to have stopped working suddenly. I have tried charging it with different chargers so it's not that, I have also tried doing a hard reset which doesn't work either. I even tried to clean out the insides in case there was dust or fluff but nothing works.
Will I have to bring it to the apple store then? If so, my phone is still under warranty, would they fix the port itself or just give me a new phone? I'd rather keep the phone I have.  And how long would this take?
Also, would they delete everything on your phone before fixing it?  I have personal data on there that I don't want to lose (didn't back up on icloud).
    Thanks!

They will replace the phone. Stores have no facilities for repair except for battery replacement and glass replacement on the iPhone 5 and later.

  • Found a dead spider in my charging port (iphone 4) this morning. Now phone wont charge at all... What can I do? It's now all totally cleared of lint and legs :/

This morning my phone wouldnt charge, I tried three different charging cables. They are lighting up to show they are working, but the phone does not charge or show a symbol or connect to the computer.
So i cleaned out the lint from inside the charging port. and inside all the chargers, some of them were new off the shelf so would not be the problem.
I found a dead spider inside the port. Have blown into it, thoroughly cleaned with a needle any debris and fluff and spider legs etc...
It still wont charge. I have ten percent battery... it's off for now. It is not covered for a chat with apple at all, unless i pay $40 which is crazy expensive.
Any ideas of what to do to save this phone? Obviously i cant back it up because it wont plug in to anything.
For now it is not on charge, just trying to let it dry out.
Probably i squashed this spider when plugging it in. therefore there could be spider guts all ruining the inside? I don't know how the ports are made. Up until not charging
there were no issues at all.

    Hi lisellemono1,
I'm sorry to hear you are having charging issues with your iPhone; I know how frustrating that can be. Based on your description and the possibility that there may be other debris or residue still in the charging port, you may need to have your iPhone evaluated or serviced. • Is Apple going to address the issue with the IPhone 5 charger port?

    Hi all
I have had an IPhone for about 4 years and have had my current iPhone 5 for just over a year,I never had any problems until recently. Just before Christmas I started having issues with my IPhone not charging, I bought a new charger and the problem continued so I went into the Apple store in Newcastle, they pulled some dust out of the charger port and the issue appeared to be resolved. However after Christmas it happened again, and again I went to the Apple store, they did the same thing and the phone worked fine for a month. However, this last week the problem has come back, this time when I took the phone into the store, they tried pulling dust out the port but the phone would still not charge, I was then told that as the phone is out of warranty there is nothing they can do other than charge me £209 to fix it!!
What concerns me is that after speaking to other iPhone users and doing some online research I have discovered this is a seriously common problem. So now through no fault of my own, I am left with a phone, which doesn't work and costs me £48 a month. Another concern is that I originally took the phone to the store with this problem before my warranty ran out and was given a 'temporary fix', which made the phone last untill just after my warranty has ran out!
I am angry and disappointed, this issue needs to be addressed as the Phones appear to be like a ticking time bomb waiting to break, and for those of you like me, who this happens to you after the warranty is up, you are elft with no solution other than to pay £209!!!!

Or talk to the store manager or Apple Customer Relations and explain that you brought the phone in twice before the warranthy expired for the same problem and that there was no permanent solution, though if clearing out the debris fixed it previously, it's perhaps unlikely that they'll think it a defect. You can try, though. Just complaining here will accomplish nothing since we're all fellow users in these forums.
    Regards.
