Iphone 4 no mic

Hi all i've got an iphone 4 running ios 7, i recently repaired the silent switch, home button and changed the cracked screen. I now have lost the bottom mic. I changed the charger dock which has the bottom mic on it but it still doesn't work. I'm currently using the phone on speaker which isn't ideal, any ideas please.

Yeah man, i've got the exact same problem and had it a few times! i've fixed it once but now can't remember what i did lol.. have you replaced the volume/headphone flex? because that makes sense... otherwise it could be the sim card? please let me know if you have any luck

I had that problem with my iPhone 3G after about 5 days.
I just had Apple take a look at it.
They cleaned it out, called it and stuff.
Didn't work.
Since I didn't drop it in water and it was not my fault in any way, they gave me a brand new one.

Can anyone help me out? My Iphone 4S's mic wont work when Im making a call and I can hear them, but when I turn on the speaker option, they can hear me. It wont work with Siri either. Can anyone give me any suggestions? I've already tried rebooting the phone. I tried doing a restore from backup but should i do a full restore? Thanks

Restore your device as NEW. Before you add any apps to it (other than the ones that come with iOS 6), try out the phone. If it still doesn't work, you'll need to go to Apple for phone replacement.

Using iPhone as wireless Mic

Hi All,
Please suggest if this below is possible or not.
Items I already have, and ready to buy other things if needed.
1) iPhone 3G
2) Mac-Book
4) Bose speakers connected to Mac.
5) Wireless Internet
My request :- By using Apple Remote application I am able to play songs. Is there any other application that will allow me to use iPhone as wireless mic and the sound should output to the Bose Speakers connected to Mac-Book.

IPhone 3gs Earphone, Mic and Earpiece Problem

i have a problem with my iPhone 3gs, the mic is working fine when that battery is on high percentage, but when the battery goes down the mic is not working well, it records like a grounded sound, also my earpiece, when doing a call i cant hear the person on the onther line using my earpiece but when using a earphone or a loud speaker mode it works fine.,
the problem on earphone is when i play music via earphone and make it on a maximum volume the phone is giving me a grounded sound,.
can anybody help me with this problem?

my problem is that i can barely hear someone when they call even though the volume controlls are set at high!!! i have the 3gs
my friends just a bought the same phone and they have the same exact problem! i brought it to the apple store and they pretty much blew me off. they tried fixing but they said everything is fine...
they are keeping secret about this!!!!!! many more need to complain for them to get a new speaker!!!!!!
i may consider returning the phone... besides that it is awesome!!!!!!

IPhone 6 External Mic not working for Siri/Dictation

I am finding that the external mic on my iPhone 6 works for phone calls and voice memos, but does not work for Siri/Dictation. When I plug in the earbuds, they work for everything (including Siri/Dictation).
Was chatting to Apple support who had me reset all settings. I thought that worked, but realized that after a reset, Siri is off and I was talking to "Voice control" (which works). When I turned Siri back on, it does not work.
I have two questions for the community to see if you can help:
1- I have been assuming this must be a software problem since the mic does work for non-Siri access. But is that true? Is there a hardware component that Siri depends on which could be faulty here?
2- If it is software, what action should I try to address it? I have done a reset all settings already and that did not help.

Hi, everyone. I talked to Apple Genius at Apple Store last week, she said it should be a software issue and I needed to reset my iphone 6 plus as a new device and I can not use the backup restore from my iCloud, it was because the microphone bug or glitch can be in the backup also. Ok, followed her advice, erased all contents and set my iphone as a new device , the microphone worked for an hour, but went bad again. I used "voice memo" app from Apple to test the microphone. It is the best tool since it doesn't involve any provider's network and it doesn't need another person's phone to listen and test. If you can hear your voice recording clearly, then the mic works. I tested it 3-4 times a day for a few days now, half of the time the mic doesn't work. So, set as a new device isn't working. The issue is intermittent and it comes and goes as it likes, so very annoying. I carry my Apple EarPods with me in these past few days ust in case I need to make important phone calls. Will need to go back to Apple Genius this weekend for sure. Will give update after the weekend.

IPhone 6 Plus mic/earpiec not working.

A tiny drop of water went down into my earpiece 2 weeks ago and i kept sucking out the water and i left it over night in a bag of rice. The next day the earpiece was working perfectly fine but the mic for the front facing camera, facetime, siri and voice dictation is not working. Every time i try to take a video using the front facing camera all what i hear is a muffling sound. Is this an earpiece issue? Should i change the earpiece? IS there a mic inside the earpiece?

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it a known bug or am I just not doing something right here? i never had an issue before the iOS 8 release. Any help would be appreciated.

IPhone 4 - Top Mic Muffled during Video Recording.

I have iPhone 4. I have an issue with the Mic that records audio while recording video.
The Sound is extremely muffled. When I tap the mic you can hear it clear. When i speak into it is extremely muffled.
I have tried cleaning it out
Took off the 3rd party case
I have tried Turning it completely off and turn it back on
Tried Syncing it with itunes.
Yes my volume is all the way up.
It seems to be that this is actually a hardware problem.

Just contact the folks at Apple Care of, even better, go to their website and schedule a time for them to call you. I did that tonight for this same issue and have an appointment tomorrow morning at a nearby Apple Store.

Iphone earphone with mic problem, voice echoes

i just got the earphones with mic from this store, but since then my contacts have been complaining of hearing my voice twice or echoing. It does not happen if the earphone is not plugged in. I tried another pair, same problem, but it did not occur on iphone that the store guy had. So I'm assuming something is wrong with my phone or some settings problem. Can anyone help, thanks.

There are three types of 3.5 mm headphone jacks - TS, TRS, and TRRS. Tip, Ring, Sleeve.

Currently the two parts closest to the cord (2nd Ring and Sleeve) are used for the microphone. Some vendors use the sleeve for the mic, and some use the ring.
Could be the problem.

IPhone and usb mics

Last year I was able to use the blue Nessie Usb mic with my iPhone and host radio shows in my 18 wheeler. I just bought the atr 2100 usb mic, and now when I place a Skype call it shuts off the mic. Any clue how make it work?

Evidently my problem was the computer. I had an identical G5 Tower and transferred the guts. USB works fine now. However, I still don't understand how some devices requiring 2.0 still worked on it.

I have Bose SIE2i Sport Headphones which I mainly use during my runs and other workouts. Is there any adapter or any settings available to mae it work with my Lumia 620? Neither mic nor any other control except sound works in this case.
Is there any way I can respond to my calls using this headphones built for Apple products?
