IPhone 4 (not 4S) and iOS - please help!
I am still using the iPhone 4 and wont be upgrading for another few months. I have never had any version iOS on the phone...I cannot get it on.
I have tried following the Apple instructions - Settings > General > Software..... but my phone does not have a Software option to select.
It has been months since I've been able to download a new app, or update existing ones, because everything needs iOS - and now the existing ones are giving me pop up messages saying they are about to stop working unless I update the app....which I would LOVE to do, but can't.
Can someone please tell me how to get iOS on the iPhone 4....or if it's not possible, just let me know that so I can stop trying - it's driving me crazy!!

How to solve this problem that I havei've had a few issues like this.
I've found that it is an issue with items that are already on your phone.
several troubleshoots.
1) uncheck everything from syncing (apps, music, tv shows, movies, podcasts, etc), try to perform a sync, it most likely will work. Then, sync after checking each item individually (check the sync box for videos, then sync, check the sync box for podcasts, then sync, check the sync box for music, then sync, etc). One of two things will happen, 1) you will fix the problem, or 2) you will identify exactly what part of the sync setup is the culprit.
2) if the above doesn't work, I've found that it is likely an issue with files that are on your phone but your phone doesn't exaclty recognize (for example, I had copies of music on my phone that didn't show up in the music app, I went in on itunes and manually deleted those songs from my phone and that fixed the sync). to do this, check the "manually manage music and videos" box at the bottom of "summary" while your phone is connected to itunes. Then, go to the left hand pane in itunes and find your iphone device, click the drop-down arrow that shows all the categories for media on your iphone. Go to the music category in your iphone on itunes and delete all the music that shows up. Try to perform a sync - it likely will work. After this, you can uncheck the manually manage music box and re-sync your phone as normal

My iphone3gs has been turning off and turning on , even at every%. it has been doing that for quit a good bit now. now my iphone is still doing the same thing, but once it came back on its saying connect to itunes. i have my itunes pulled up, but my iphone is not being recgonized. what can i do... could i get a new iphone for free, and keep my gophone plan? please help? what can i do?

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

Can anyone please help me in this regard?Try plugging it into a wall outlet for at least 10 minutes to see if the battery is just dead.
If no luck, try forcing recovery mode... (you'll have to restore the device)
Press and hold the Home button and connect to iTunes, release the Home button when you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen which shows the iTunes Music symble and a USB cable. iTunes should then detect the device in recovery mode. -
Books download on iPhone but not on my iPad, please help
Lately some books that I purchase and download onto my iPhone 4S won't download onto my iPad mini. The books will show up in the bookstore on my iPad mini, with the download bar you usually see on books, except the download doesn't start. I am able to use and and read them on my iPhone but not my iPad mini. I have tried turning my iPad off, downloading other books so that I can put my apple password in, but nothing has changed for those three books on my iPad. Please help. Thank you everyone.
I have re-booted the entire network which involved turning the router of and I always leave it of for at least 30 seconds before switching back on. while I go round the house pwering down switches and rebooting them - hte whole process takes several minutes and I always switch router first and back on last.

I tried resisting my phone it didnt work. Please help? This is the first time it has ever happens and has been doing it for a week. The sound will only play without headphones or speakers is when I'm listening to my ringtone. And my phone won't turn off. It turns off then just turns back on.

I recently downloaded iMovie on my iPhone 5 and it is telling me to connect to wifi or use itunes to download iMovie well I have done both and it is still not working can someone please help me?

I'm sorry you are having issues with the iMovie app you purchased for your iPhone5.
The first thing I would suggest is to log out of your iTunes Account on your iPhone, turn the iPhone off and then on again, and see if app finishes downloading/updating.
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap on your Apple ID account > Tap Sign Out

my itunes will not open at all. it occasionally will open but when i plug my iphone into it the program freezes and crashes. please help as soon as possible
i think i might have a solution... i have windows vista and after i installed to latest itunes update everytime i tried to open it it would freeze. I tried everything, including uninstalling itunes and all of its components and reinstalled it numerous times. So i went to the itunes folder in my folders, not on itunes, and i deleted my itunes library and playlists. After that it worked just fine, all of my music was deleted but luckily i had my files saved elsewhere.
