IPhone 4 not handing-over properly since 4.3.x update

I've noticed a problem since updating from 4.2.1 to 4.3.2 and subsequently 4.3.3, initially I thought it was a network related issue, but have now had confirmed by my provider (Vodafone UK) that they do not know of any problems ...
I travel a lot, often on a train for 3-4 hours a day, often the same routes. Previously I used to be able to maintain a connection for *most* of the journey, the signal would obviously fluctuate between very good and quite poor as I was passed from cell to cell, but would typically go from good, to ok, to poor, I'd then be handed over to the next cell, and go from poor, to ok, to good again as I got closer to the transmitter, I'd usually be able to hold a telephone call seamlessly during this process.
Now the phone seems to try to hold on to the current cell for as long as possible, so I go from good, to ok, to poor, to very poor, to no signal at all (at which point any call I'm on obviously drops out), then *bamn* only now do I get handed to the next cell (which I'm obviously now much closer to that I used to get handed to it) where I suddenly get a good signal again.
Basically instead of signal strength going 4, 3, 2, 2, 3, 4 it now goes 4, 3, 2, 1, 0, 4
I had a very similar issue with an old Nokia phone I had a few years back and after several replacements from Nokia UK, they finally admitted it was a fundemental hardware design problem and replaced my phone with a completely different model. Obviously it is not a hardware issue on my iPhone 4, as I didn't have any issues on previous software versions.
I've tried asking in a local Apple Store, but the replies I get prove that the guys in there obviously know how to add music and which apps are 'cool', but very little about the fundemental working of cellular telecomms, and they keep insisting that IOS version 4.3.3 must be better than 4.2.1 at everything because it is newer?!

You can continue to use the current AppleID for iTunes, but your husband can create a new AppleID to use to create a new iCloud account that will be his own and not overlap with yours. If you do not have another email address to use for an AppleID, just get a free Gmail account and use that.
You can have as many AppleIDs as you want (or at least, as many as you have email addresses for). You can use a separate AppleID for the store, another for iCloud, and even another for iMessage if you wish.
You will want to keep the current one as the shared one for the store as all your previous purchases are permanently tied to it, and thus you need that AppleID to update or redownload your current purchased content.

Apple would "not" replace my Iphone 5 till went to dealer and had my bluetooth on u connect system updated. Advisor acted like I just come from the planet Mars when I told him what I needed. So a tech advisor went with to my vehicle and connect his 4S then went and about a minute flat "paired" my iphone 5! I seen him go through a step that even the manufacter's manual did not even mention to "pair" an iphone using bluetooth! I then asked what he had done and so he showed me to successfully start the "pairing" process the four digit code he used for the u connect and on the iphone screen came up displaying u connect and just to the right it says "not" paired. I had been there around twenty times myself! He then pressed the "not paired" display and when he did the keypad popped up and the advisor put in the "same" four didgit code that he originally had used to start the pairing in uconnect and then press the "complete or done" button on the iphone keypad after doing this the u connect displays "pairing process has begun" and less than a minute it did! All the phones including my 4GS I "never" had to do that and I had "never" had a pairing problem before so to me it must the new IOS 6 system!

Iphone not keeping time properly

Has anyone had a problem with their iphone not keeping time properly. I have noticed periods during which the iphone's clock is 30-60 behind real time. This problem goes away if I restart the phone but I find that to be an inconvenience. I first noticed this when the alarm did not go off at the proper time

I had this exact same problem, on three of the five iPhones I have had replaced by Apple (yeah, great product). Resetting never corrected this issue with me. If it did, it would immediately start messing up again. To correct this, just turn off the automatic time setting. That has worked for me, so far.

ICal does not work properly since the last OS update

Hi everybody,
I run a Macbook 15 Retina RAM 16Gb with Mac OS 10.8.4. Over the past months (I think after updating the OS), iCal has not been working properly. TO make a long story short, as you can see on the screen cap, it is no longer possible to select the kind of calendar/color etc when right clicking. In order for example to create a "Meetings" event (see left column on the screen cap), what i need to do now, is to find a previous event (i.e. created before iCal stopped to work) then copy and paste it to the time when I want it to happen in the future and then modify it. Not convenient at all.
This is kind of surreal (that such a bug has not been fixed yet) to given the price of the Mac and that iCal is part of the core apps of the OS. I looked over the Internet and did not find a solution. But I must have missed things. Hence I would be very very grateful if anyone could help me.

IPhone won't sync properly since upgrading to new iTunes and iOS5

Hi,
I'm having great difficulty syncing my iPhone properly since upgrading to the newest software of both.
Ever since upgrading to iOS5 and the newer iTunes (10.5), my phone will start to sync but then get stuck on 'waiting for items to copy' and most of the time doesn't copy across (or back, depending on what it is). Sometimes if I sync a few times it eventually works, but other times, like at the moment, it won't do it properly. For instance, I've bought a song on my phone but now it won't copy across to the computer, and iTunes on the computer thinks I've already downloaded the song so I can't get it off there. It's incredibly frustrating but it used to work so well!
What can I do to make it sync properly? I was hoping a fix would be in iOS5.0.1 but I upgraded to that yesterday and it still does exactly the same things. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Why is Safari not opening AOL properly since last update?

I have a macbook - OS Lion. Ever since the last automatic update, Safari has not been able to open AOL. I get a message saying: "Slow connection? Use the basic version." If I use Firefox, AOL opens just fine. Anyone else having this problem, and is there a fix? I'm hesitant to upgrade to Mountain Lion because I'm afraid my e-mail won't work... I don't use the Mail program as it is because there are issues with syncing between my macbook and my IPhone 4.

Transaction launcher parameter not handed over to ERP system

We generated an R3 transaction launcher via the wizzard. We try to hand over the BP_NUMBER to the ERP system.
This does not work. The entitiy collection in the gdc is not filled.
Actually it gets the gdc form the view controller of the action box view (GV_VIEW_CONTROLLER->VIEW_ID = UICMP_LTX/ABoxExecution). See also the coding below.

HP Photosmart 3310 - Scanner not working over Bonjour since 2.1 update

My HP3310 is connected to my Time Capsule via Ethernet to allow it to be used by my iMac and a Macbook.
After I updated to OSX 10.6 I had a few problems but eventually I was able to get my 3310 working as a printer and a scanner with both Macs connected as described.
This last weekend following installation of the HP printer Driver 2.1 update, the scanner no longer works as connected. I just get the message "failed to open scanner". I tried removing the device and re-installing as described throughout the various threads but nothing works. If I connect the 3310 via USB to my iMac or Macbook then the scanner works but not on the Time Capsule with Bonjour. This has only happened since the 2.1 update was applied which was preceded by the OSX 10.6.1 update.
Anyone with a similar problem that they fixed? If so how did you fix it?

First off, the HP Photosmart 3310 is supported in Snow Leopard with the In-OS scanning solution. This allows you to scan through Preview, Image Capture, the Print & Fax control panel, and your printer browser. Some details are available on [this|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3771] link (and hopefully the scan document linked to within this page will go live again soon), other information is on [this|http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01846935&lc=en&dlc=e n&cc=us&lang=en&os=219&product=439491] link.
Second, HP Scan Pro and HP Device Manager are NOT supported under Snow Leopard. Do not install the full solution under Snow Leopard, and if you have, I'd suggest deleting these two items. A full solution installer for the Photosmart 3310 that will include HP Scan (scan software compatible with Snow Leopard) should be available later in October.

Why have I lost all my audiobooks which were in my library but not on my iPad since the last iTunes update?

I Have recently allowed iTunes to update itself, and have only just gone into it, only to find that all the books and audiobooks that I hade in my library have disappeared !!!!! Including books and audiobooks I had purchased, both from iTunes and other sources.
Why has this happened? And how do I get them back?
Please, someone, help!

Audiobooks are not avaiable for redownload from iTunes, though I suspect you may find they are still on your computer even if not currently listed in your library. This may help...
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
Would you mind telling me which anti-virus package you use? It may be that it is disturbing iTunes when it tries to write out the fresh database, as it does after almost any activity with your library. I'm noticing more of this type of problem than usual and trying to see if there is any pattern. It may help to prevent a repeat of the problem if you look at the advanced options for your AV package and see if you can find a way to exclude the iTunes folder from any real-time scanning process.

Vibration not working at all since the 2.2 update

So is anyone else experiencing this here? I've read about it on other forums but didn't see a whole lot about it here. My phone won't vibrate at all since I performed the update. I've seen where other people are having the problem of their phone only vibrating and not ringing, but mine only rings and then does nothing when the ringer is off. I read what causes the vibration only, which makes me wonder if my problem could be related to this as well.

Hello BDawg866. I have read your post and understand your frustration for your device not vibrating after you received the 2.2 update. On your phone go to Settings > Sound > make sure Vibrate isn't on Never. You can also try to reset your device.
1. Hold Home Button and press power (continue to hold until you see the triangle with an asterisk like in step 2)
2. Screen will show a Android with a triangle with asterisk
3. Let Go of Home Button and Power
4. Select "reboot Phone"
5. Allow the reboot process to complete until phone completely powers up
***Performing a hard reset will remove ALLdata including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications. Only perform this reset if absolutely necessary.***

Phone keeps sending me "Iphone not activated contact your Carrier" after the ios7 update

So I got the Ios7 update yesterday and it downloaded normally and when it was done I had service for like 30 min. after that it kept send me an error saying "iphone not acitvated please contact your carrier" (im with Tmobile) so i called today and they said to wait a couple days or to get on itunes to activate it so i went to itunes and they said "new carrier update" so i installed it. But no luck, i dont get any service or internet connection. my wifi is down so i have to use the neighbors when ever he is home. So i dont know what to do. I tried to take the sim out and clean it with a cloth, i tried to reset my network setting but no luck. I dont want to reset all setting or restore it. So i dont know what to? any help? BTW i have an iphone 4s

IPhone and IPad not handing over on AP's

We have just installed a new Enterasys wireless network but all Iphones and Ipad will not handover on AP's, you can see the device disconnecting but will not connect to the next AP, it waits about 7 seconds then reconnects. We have tried different levels of software on Iphones and Ipads and have worked out pre 7.0.1 works fine on both devices but any level above this fails. I have spent the day trying to see if anyone has had the same problem but no luck.
The EAP type the radius server is using is PEAP and is working fine on Windows tablets and phones.
If anyone can tell me what the difference is in software on Iphone and Ipad I would be really greatful.

If I deselct "convert songs to 256Kbps" and wait a couple of seconds, then re-enable it, the capacity is correct (6GB free)
If I then sync, towards the end of the sync it suddenyl says I'm 29GB over capacity...but Im definitely not.

Contacts Created on iPhone not syncing over to Address Book on laptop.

Contacts created in Address Book on laptop do sync over to iPhone - no problem - but not the other way around. I must retype contacts daily created in the field to laptop. Apple specialist unable to find the problem. Passed on to engineering, end of January. Haven't heard a word.
It worked fine until I updated 1.1.3. I had many issues after that update and am really leary of 1.1.4 after reading threads here. Have not updated.
Also drives me crazy having to spin that stupid wheel to find contacts. Come on do designers actually use this thing?
On the whole I'm happy with the iphone

I tried erasing all the phone data as you suggested, but to no effect whatsoever (apart from having to setup my email/wifi etc. all over again).
There's definitely something strange going on with the iPhone -> Mac connection. iPhoto shows the iPhone as being connected, even when it's not, and is still showing 23 pictures, which is what was on the phone before I reset it (they are now gone from the phone). iPhoto also calls it 'Apple iPhone', while I've changed the name to something else.
Calendar syncing is still functioning flawlessly, but contacts created on the phone are still not being transferred.
What's more, the contacts I added to the iPhone before I reset all the data were still on the phone afterwards.
