IPhone 4 (not S) - iOS 7 - Modem Firmware will not update

I updated my iphone 4 from ios 5.1.1 to ios 7.0.2 today mainly to update my modem firmware since my connectivity is very poor.
I read online that updating should help, but the firmware is still at 3.0.04 not at 4.12.09 that wikipedia shows it should have updated to.
My phone is not jailbroken and I updated to ios 7 with itunes. What gives?
My phone model is MD146LL/A and itunes installed ios version 7.0.2 (11A501)

Thank you for the answers so far, but I'll make one correction: I said earlier that the Boston Globe website, boston.com, does not have a mobile site, and I would need to visit their regular website on my iPhone. Actually, I just found out that boston.com has a mobile site, so I'd obviously use that instead of the regular site. By doing that, I'd save a ton of data (I think). Does that change your answers?

Make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes on your computer (10.6.3). Then, plug your iPhone into your computer with iTunes, and do a Restore.

When I search for the error code, everything leads to articles about the device being jailbroken, which would mean Apple doesn't support that device anymore. Can anyone confirm this?

Settings > iTunes and App Store > Apple ID > Sign Out > Sign In with the current Apple ID
Settings > iCloud > (Scroll Down) Delete Account > Sign In with the current Apple ID

Check all your devices still have documents and data syncing turned on in settings > iCloud and that iCloud is enabled at settings > Pages. If this doesn't help, reset documents & Data from a computer at...

IPhone 6 not updating to iOs 8.3 either on phone or itunes

I have tried several times to update my iPhone 6, both via the phone and iTunes, but it never completes.
On the phone I get to the agree to terms press it and then nothing happens it remains in the terms and conditions!
On iTunes it commences to down load but increases to 11 hours and never completes stating the download has timed out.
I have tried both several times to no effect. Phone currently at iOs 8.13.
I have even reset my phone totally and it still does not update!
Any suggestions?

IPhone 3GS not updating to iOS 5

I have been trying to update my iPhone from iOS 4.3.5 to iOS 5. I have done the iTunes upgrade that was suggested on my Windows 7 computer. My phone would not restore. I would keep getting an error message 14 and the phone would not restore. Is any one else having this issue?

I went back to iOS 4.3.5. Lucky for me my netbook's iTunes was not updated. I plugged in my phone, did not upgrade the iTunes and it installed iOS 4.3.5. At least I got my phone working again. I tried the upgrade on both my Win7 pc and my Mac and got the same error. I hope that Apple addresses this issue soon. Please let us know you outcome with Apple.

I have iTunes 10.2.2, my iPhone is currently on IOS 4.3.2 but whenever I try updating to 4.3.3, I get an error message saying that "The iPhone could not be updated. Hello everyone. I woke this morning and tried to update my iphone 4S to iOS 8.1 and was unsuccessful doing so (perhaps due to a weak wifi connection). Now when I put my phone on, a picture shows up asking me to connect my phone to itunes. Once I connect my 4S to itunes, it asks me to restore or update my phone. On clicking update, an iphone software update starts and then as illustrated in the picture below, keeps hanging when it downloads 1.39GB of the 1.66GB update required. I have even tried saying restore but the same problem arises. Any help would be appreciated as my phone is rendered completely useless right now! Please let me know if you need any more details. IPhone 3gs not updating to iOS5

iPhone 3gs is on 4.1 and im trying to update to ios 5, i have the latest version of itunes, the errors i get are errors 21,1600, and 2005. I tried putting my phone in dfu mode as well I dont know what do do, please help.

Is your phone jailbroken? Was it ever jailbroken in the past? These errors are generally associated with jailbroken phones. If it is not and has never been, it may indicate a hardware failure.

Numbers doc on my iPhone does not update on my iPad and vice versa. Why?

I have the same Numbers doc on my iPhone and my iPad. iCloud backup is turned "on" for both devices. Whenever I update the document on one device, it does not update on the other device. Is there something else that I need to do to make automatic updates happen? Many thanks, Mark
