IPhone 4 pictures showing as question marks!?!

When I receive e-mails with pictures they do not show the picture unless I hit forward. They show as question marks and if I try to save they are saved as the image of the question mark.
Has anyone had this problem?
If it helps I have the iPhone 4 with current operating system.

I tried with browser language setting, but result is same.It was working earlier when i'm using tomcat as application server. Recently i migrated to Oracle Application server and from that time, arabic characters are showing like this.

When used to create a pdf it does not print any pictures or logos in the email in Outlook. Adobe converts it into blue question marks.
This problem developed over time as it was working fine before.............please suggest..........other than a re-installation..........someone who has had this problem and worked out a solution........(not for the points only!)- please an answer, a solution or state the problem if you have experienced something similar.

Glad it worked for you. The reason to turn it on is primarily because of Security concerns. Spammers at times include a referece to a unique image when then send you an email. The idea is that if you download that image, they know that the email address is valid.
At times, this such spam also might also include inappropriate content.
If you are careful in not converting spam email, you can leave it on.

Have you tried the Seagate SSHD connected externally to the MBP via USB?  The drive itself may be faulty.

  • IPhoto in dock shows only question mark...

The iPhoto application in my dock shows a question mark, but I cannot reinstall iphoto.  It can't be found on my hard drive. Help!  My iphoto libraries exist, but cannot be opened.  How or where can I get my application back and re-install it?  It came pre-installed when I bought this Mac.

    Did you check the Trash?
Do you have any iLife Discs? Did you look on the Original Install Disc(s) for Optional Installs?
The icons in the Dock are aliases, & the question mark means it doesn't exist where that points to.

Hi Forum, can u please help? iRecently bought a macbook pro and garageband 11 was working fine but now it's showing a question mark in the dock and it won't open. I think it may have been accidentally trashed. I've searched the trash and spotlighted but don't know what to do next. Any ideas? Thanks.

How  did you install GarageBand on your Mac? Did it come preinstalled with the other iLife applications?
If your MacOS supports the AppStore, you should be able to redownload GarageBand from the AppStore, see this support Article: OS X: About OS X Recovery on how to download again:
Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.

I have a Quicksilver twin 800 mhz and use 4.11.
My volumes show a question mark(?) on upper right corner.
    What is going on ?

One other thought: does the question mark go away when you open a folder?
I am beginning to suspect that maybe just right-clicking the Finder window's toolbar and selecting "Customize Toolbar" and then seeing if you can drag the question mark off the tool bar, like there is some phantom item that the Finder can't resolve.
A puzzle.  It definitely has something to do with the Finder toolbar, though.  I'm pretty sure of that at this point.
EDIT:  OK, I recreated the situation.  You can drag an AppleScript to the toolbar so it will always be available.  However, if that AppleScript file goes away, what's left is the dreaded question mark.  The solution is to just drag the question mark off the toolbar while having the "Customize Toolbar" pane open as instructed above.
Well, I learn something new today, and it's only 52 minutes into the day.  My work here is done.
    Now you see it:
    Now you don't:
Actually, you can just right-click on the question mark and select "Remove Item" and it should be gone.

  • JPG Images show as "Question Mark" when browsing online in Safari

How do I get my $2500 laptop to download JPG images consistently when browsing the internet?
Currently, for example, 1 in 4 images posted on craigslist show up as a nice little blue question mark. Ridiculous... I could buy 5 PC laptops for the same price, and all will show the images.
    Really becoming perturbed,
    Chris

There may be a number of reasons why the images do not show. Which browser do you use? Have you tried another browser? Have you tried creating a second account (useful to have a test account) to see if it happens there too? That would all help narrow down possible causes.
Could you provide specific URLs so that someone could visit the same pages you are trying.
The link between your computer and the router; or the router and your ISP may also come into the equation, as may Craigslist (I just tried and the pages I saw had no images anyway).
What about the page you are viewing at this very instant? There should be some icons to the right, a couple of avatars (mine is an eMac) to the left: are these displayed?
As others (including me) have no problem getting our 78,000 baht laptops to display images in the backwoods of Asia, maybe other reasons may be coming into play?

  • Pictures loading with question marks

Lately whenever I load websites like pinterest or netflix the pictures never load. Instead blue boxes with white question marks load. My sister has a mac as well and this has been happening to her too. How do i fix this?

    HI Alyssaa  ...
    Several things to try ...
Make sure:  Display images when the page opens is selected in Safari > Preferences > Appearance
Empty the Safari cache more often. From the Safari menu bar top of your screen, click Safari > Empty Cache
If that didn't help, back to the menu bar, click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:  Remove All Website Data
    Quit thren relaunch Safari.
If that didn't work, open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly has you see it here:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
    Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    Try Safari.

  • I am trying to copy a color that shows a question mark in display window.

I am trying to copy a colro that shows as a question mark in the display window.  This shown below.

    Just a broken link, Paul.
Are you sure the link is viable?
If you just wish to show an image, you may use the Insert Image button, which looks like a camera, at the top of the box where you write your post.

  • My Macintosh Classic shows blinking question mark :(

My Mac stopped to boot It shows question mark during the start. I can boot only from MacOS 6.x sitting in ROM, by holding CMD+Option+O+X and then hard disk is normally visible. I checked that HDD - it spins correctly and I tried to boot from it on another Mac and it worked. Also, I tried to reset PRAM. Nothing helps. Any ideas?

The tests that you have done do seem to cover all possibilities. The machine will boot from ROM, with the hard disk visible, which ought to rule out at least the most obvious hardware faults. Also, the hard drive itself and the operating system appear to be OK. A PRAM reset does not change anything.
Do you have access to a bootable disk tools floppy with Disk First Aid and Apple HD SC Setup? If so, you could begin by checking whether the hard disk shows up in Disk First Aid (if yes, verify, and repair if needed). You may then want to run Apple HD SC Setup and update the hard disk drive driver.
It is of course thinkable that some kind of borderline situation exists, where an electronic component is about to fail. A close examination (with a magnifying glass) of the board(s) should reveal leaking/bulging/discoloured electrolytic capacitors et cetera. At the same time, it may be a good idea to check the voltage of the (3.6 V) battery.  A warning: All work inside a compact Macintosh computer can be very dangerous because of high voltages in certain areas (even when the computer has been switched off and disconnected from the mains), and must be carried out by someone with the necessary expertise.
