Iphone 4 refusing to start
My Iphone 4 refuses to start. I have already tried to recover my Iphone but the recovery fails at a certain point so it doesnt finish and Im still unable to use my Iphone. Does anybody know what to do?

Thank you for getting back to me and offering your input. I did attempt what you suggested and it wont do anything, It won't trun off or on. It is frozen. Actually I am on my way to an Apple store to have them look at it. I called to make an appointment, they said I needed to go online to make appointments. So I go the apple site to make an appointment and now I have to download Safari in order to do that. Well, I already have it downloaded but I don't see why it has to be on their stupid browser. All I want is an appointment dammit! What the heck is Apple trying to do with this egotistical, power hungry, bull sheeet! It has taken me 15 minutes of my time just to have them look at their defective goods. I am begining to have my doubts about Apple and what they are trying to accomplish. I really appreciate you helping me and I don't think you are an Apple employee, so please don't think I am launching on you. I really am grateful to vent this before I walk into their store and go postal on them.

If it was officially unlocked by O2 it will remain unlocked if reset or updated.
Also, just as a side note if you can help. Its running iOS 3.1.3. Once factory reset and connected to iTunes will it force an iOS 4 update or can you choose not to update the OS?
If you restore it in iTunes it will be updated to the current release, 4.3.1. There are ways around this; Google is your friend. -
Apple paid apps refusing to start
I've had this before, and seen it in threads going back some time but haven't found a definitive answer. Occasionally (rarely thankfully) some apps will refuse to start on my iPhone 4 (currently iOS 5.0.1). The icon zooms out as normal but then simple returns to the Home page. This morning none of my paid Apple apps would start, but all the "built in" ones were fine. I re-downloaded Numbers and all of them then worked. In fact, downloading anything seems to fix the problem. But it will be back, I know it will. Perhaps just the act of using my Apple ID and password is the important thing, and not the actual downloading. Does anyone have a definite answer to this one?

The forums themselves go off line for varying degrees of time. A thread (???) said Apple was working on it. It's been going on for weeks. A real PITA. -
IPhone 3GS not starting, restore error 2001
Hi all,
I have an iPhone 3GS with the latest firmware, and I've just upgraded to iTunes 11. I was plugging the iPhone to backup on the iTunes 11 when the iPhone blacked out and refuse to start. The battery life is at 100%.
I tried restoring in DFU mode but keeps giving me the error 2001. I tried restarting my Mac and iTunes, still no luck.
I plugged in an external battery pack, and the Apple logo comes up, it backs up the phone until the Home screen, then crashes again and restarts with the Apple logo. It repeats until I remove the external battery pack. At any point when I remove the battery pack, it stops working.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!Its a sign from apple

When I try to open iTunes app on iPhone 5, it starts to open then closes straight away, I upgraded to iOS 7.0.2 and it has been like this since I upgraded!
I also had this problem. Go to settings> itunes & app store, tap on your apple ID and sign out. Then open itunes store. It should now open.
Then sign back in again and the problem should be resolved -
We have had Verizon Wireless service since 2007. We have 6 lines on our account. Unfortunately in 2012 when I (903.647.0073) upgraded from the iPhone4s to the iPhone 5 I started having reception problems. I started having dropped calls in my home. I had to go outside to get reception without dropped calls. I was told that because of metal in my home I would have to purchase a Network Extender for $250. And we HAVE not metal in our home. AND our other lines all work fine. I felt this was ridiculous. We already pay $350+/month for service and I should NOT have to purchase additional equipment for a service that I already pay for. The manager of our local store at the time gave us at no cost a Samsung Network Extender. It worked beautifully until about a month ago. I went to our local Verizon store and was told that I would have to purchase an extender. THIS is RIDICULOUS. We have been loyal customers for over 7 years and have been very satisfied with our service. Unless this issue can be resolved without purchasing an extender we will be switching our service as our lines come up for renewal. I regret this as we have been very happy with our service. But we should NOT have to purchase anything extra for one line that will not get good reception. Again, we pay $350+/ month for a service that does not work properly, simply RIDICULOUS! Currently the "sys" light flashes red (slow) and the GPS light remains red. Please help this very frustrated customer.
Regardless with what carrier your with you might have the same issue, My recommendation would be to get a router that will help you with viewing live traffic and keep a tally of your usage and any device connected to your internet connection. You can go with the peplink balance 20 and be able to look at your traffic by the hour, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Look for trends, see what computers or devices are doing what I attached a screen shot so you can see an example of mine. You can purchase the router at 3gstore

Hi, I have a new cell phone, I wanted to give my iphone to my father, instead of deleting the content on the iphone I have deleted the entire iphone. It starts up no more. iTunes will not recognize the iphone. How do I get my old data back onto the phone?
Place the device in DFU mode (google it) and restore as new.

My iphone 4S only start whit cable plug in and then show battery very low (with red line end) then try to turn on but show searching in operator name command and not connecting and no work properly and when I plug out it turn off!!! what should I do?
I'm afraid you'll have to get the phone serviced, dropping the phone must have damaged additional parts inside the phone.
But Apple will not service the phone anymore, opening the phone and replacing the battery should only be done by authorized personal, not by users.
You'll have to look for a 3rd party repair shop and see if they can fix this, sorry. -
After working fine for several months, my iPhone 5 has started dropping bluetooth connectivity for 2 to 5 seconds at a time with my Sony MDR-1RBT headphones. The headphones work fine with other bluetooth devices. I haven't moved to iOS7 yet. Any ideas?
What user troubleshooting have you done on the phone? The steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Understand that a restore will put the latest iOS on your device. It is also possible there is a hardware fault on the device and the Bluetooth is failing. Anything is possible given the scenario you describe.
And as far as iOS 7.x is concerned, we have 5 different iPhones here at home, all with the latest iOS, a 4, 4s, 5c, and 2-5s and all are working just fine. So, a blanket statement such as the one provided by the other poster is not completely true. Others are not having any issues at all either. -
As I say my computer, a mac mini refuse to start. When I turn it on it gives the startup sound and the screen turns grey and stay that way for a long time. And in the end a small folder icon with a question mark inside (it doesn't blink) turns up in the middle of the screen.
I have tried to start up from the installation CD holding down the C key on the keyboard. Same result. I have tried different key combinations while starting up. No result or rather same result. Nothing. Is the computer suddenly dead?
I was about to buy a new computer but I need access to my data on this one (I write this on an iPad) but hven't yet found a way.
Anybody have any good advice?
I thought it was a software problem, that the computer couldn't find the startup software or something and maybe it is, but I am beginning to fear that it could be a hardware problem.You need to re install OSX. If you have the dmg file downloaded via torrentz this is how you can create a bootable external HD or Flash drive (8 GB+)

Installed the latest update and now Finder refuses to start/crashes
Hey guys,
I just installed the latest 10.4.11 update or whatever, along with Quicktime, iTunes, etc., and now when I log in to any account, Finder refuses to start. If it does start, it crashes.
I've googled around and all I could find was that I should switch from one Admin account to another to stop it, but that looked outdated and didn't work anyway.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates again, or even do an A&I if you have enough free disk space.
An Archive & Install, which gives you a new OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc...

Firefox refuses to start up at all
To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step. -

Turn off Voice Control.
Otherwise, basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).
