Iphone 4 restarts after opening up apps

Does anyone know why my iphone 4 restarts when opening up applications? How do I correct this?

It MAY be a bug in 5.1 or It may have to do with something else. I'd reccommend a backup and restore.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it back to factory settings would be the next step:

IPhone 4 restarts every time an app is opened

Since last week I have noticed that my iPhone constantly restarts when an app is opened. I have not downloaded anything new or made any changes.
I find this extremely frustrating.
can any one help??

had you read the User Guide, you would have been directed to the following troubleshooting steps: restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. I suggest you try these sequentially.

My iPhone 5 restarts all the time.
Worked fine for about a week, but after pressing use for development in Xcode, it started happening.
Restore to new iPhone did not help.
Anyone with the same problem?

Iphone 5 16g black
Keeps restarting itself every 2-5 minutes.
I restored it, did not back it up and start as new phone. Problem still occuring.
The typing on the phone seems too glichy as well as scrolling on the screen
Right before the iPhone restarts itself, wavy lines appear and shuts off and reboots.
Battery fully charged, however the percentage is off. (when charging the % gets stuck at random, not giving accurate reading.)
As I typed this my iPhone 5 has restarted itself 3 times.
Apple, please help us out fast. I dont want to drive to the apple store thats 50 miles away either. Thanks!

I have N6300 with firmware 5.00 (the newest version, according to software update program) and 2GB memory card (full of music). Every time I try to open any playlist that I created in Nokia Music Manager (ver.2.0), my phone starts opening the playlist, but restarts after a while without actually opening it. I tried to format the memory card and upload the songs again, reinstall the firmware, but it did not help. With this bug, the Music player in the phone is good for nothing, as I cannot actually play any music... :-( any suggestions what can cause the problem? It did not do before, it started only recently when I uploaded some new songs to the memory card... Thanks!

So, Raymond sent me his project and I was able to get it to open. Here's what I did to troubleshoot it.
If you've ever looked inside Motion project files, you'd see that they are just text files with XML in them.
I loaded Raymond's file into a text editor and one by one, deleted a layer, saved it, tried the project, if it crashed, I restored the layer. Then I'd move on to the next layer. A layer is between:

</layer>
Once I found the offending layer (after deleting it, the project would open), I looked at the items in the layer. If you look at the crash log above, it says Motion died rendering a rotoshape, so I deleted a mask in the problematic layer (It had a <mask name="Mask copy" id="10487" factoryID="10"> and a </mask>), and bingo, the project opened.
Hope that helps someone else crashing trying to open an old project...

I used friends wifi network on my iPhone but I cannot open Facebook app anymore.

I used wifi network at my friends house with their password then all of a sudden
the Facebook app wouldn't open. I turned off and on on iPhone, I tried to delete the app to reinstall again but it doesn't even let
put x on the corner when I hold on the screen for few seconds.

If you bought and downloaded the 1Password app from the Mac App Store, then it shoud be in the Applications folder on your Mac. Since the name starts with a 1, it is usually the very first app in the folder.

My Iphone 4 won't open default apps like safari or mail. it will start to load and close back to home screen.

It is just a 4, but recently won't open standard apps like app store, mail, or safari. tried hard reset. found help saying to download an app, but the app store won't load either.

Try this procedure to be sure of a proper restart.
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
I would also try: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Starting in iOS 5, the Contacts app is inside the Utilities folder. Click and hold the app for a couple of seconds to move it out of the folder and onto a home screen.

IPhone 5 restarts when opening texts

I bought an iPhone 5 on launch day and that same day, my phone restarted itself when opening a text directly from the lock screen. I didn't think much of it then and just went on with it but then within the next three weeks, it happened to my phone three more times. I figured Apple would have me restore my phone before swapping it out for me so I went ahead and did that on my own, before calling Apple's tech support about the issue.
My phone seemed to be working fine, after doing the restore, but then the next day, it did the same restart thing twice, when trying to open texts. So that was six times that it happened to me within a month so I finally called Apple and they told me I'd done everything they would've recommended I do so they went ahead and set up a Genius Bar appointment for me to get it replaced.
The next day, I get my phone replaced by Apple and everything seemed to be working ok after the first few days... But then exactly one week after getting it replaced, it happens again! I've now had the replacement phone for 10 days and it has happened to me three more times.
I've tried searching forums about this issue but haven't found anything so I thought I'd share it with you all, in case any of you have heard anything about this or if it's happened to any of your phones.
And by the way, I originally set up both phones as new phones, when I got them so I know it isn't an issue with an iCloud restore.

I have an iPhone 4 , had it for maybe 4 months and it had started doing the same thing with no rhyme or reason for it , some times it will do it 2 or 3 times in a row other times will not do it at all, it's very disappointing considering this is my first apple devise and it's already got issues , I'm not gonna mess with it, it will be going back to the place of purchase ASAP . Iphone keeps restarting after 1 minute

went to bed last night phone was fine woke up this morning and it keeps restarting or freezing after 30 seconds to a minute. i tried re-installing my firmware but no help. does anyone have any ideas?

Standard troubleshooting steps in order are; power the iPhone off/on, reset, restore with iTunes from the iPhone's backup, restore with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the iPhone's backup.
If no change after these steps, time to give AppleCare a call at (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.
