IPhone 4 restore backup from iCloud

I have backed up my info on iCloud on my iPhone 4, I will reset my phone and  how do I recover the back up?

Delete All Content And Settings under General>Reset (at the bottom) will restore your phone to factory conditions. Make sure you have an iCloud backup set up before you do that. The process should take a minute or so on an iOS 5 device. Then when the phone restarts at the setup screen, you have the option to restore from iCloud backups.

During setup of Iphone 6 I keep getting error message "cannot restore backup" from Icloud.  I backed up my old Iphone 5 yesterday.  Is it because of different operating systems? Please help. Thanks!

Does your iPhone 5 IOS is later than iPhone 6 IOS?
If true, you need to update your iPhone 6 before you can restore from your backup.
If not, is iPhone 6 connected to power supply?

Apple has shutdown MobileMe. You have to switch over to iCloud.

Yes, if you're restoring from iCloud.  No, if restoring from iTunes.

  • Need help with restore backup from icloud

    Hi.
A few days ago I've deleted data and settings from my iPad and updated it to 8.1.2. Then, I wanted to restore backup from iCloud, but got error, that I can't restore my backup. Tried three last copies, other wifi, many solutions from support - the same error. Support said me, my backups are broken. And they can't help me.
OK. I've found some programs in internet for download backups and restore it. Only trials. And they work, they see my backups, download and show me my data. I need to buy program to restore data to my iPad. I don't want to buy, because, if that programs can restore my data, why Apple support can't do this?

Photos and videos from your camera roll are backed up to iCloud when you do an iCloud backup.

  • Cannot restore backup from iCloud after rolling back from iOS 8

So, after trying iOS 8 on my iPhone 4s I decided there was too much lag to apps opening, etc.
I downloaded the iOS 7.1.2 firmware and got it back, after backing up to iCloud.
Now all I get - after trying probably 250 times over the past day - is 'Cannot restore backup' from any of the backups from the past three days.
Is it being blocked because iCloud recognises it as not being the latest iOS?
    Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for any help

I have the same problem with an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.1, I'm trying to restore my iPhone with a backup made with iCloud (when I made the backup 2 weeks ago I had the same iOS version, 5.1.1).
The error message is: "Cannot restore backup" which is NOT listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4036
I need some help with this, thanks.

  • Lost one app restoring backup from iCloud to new iPad

I got a new iPad and started to restore the backup from iCloud. Everything else but my VLC player was restored.
It is still on my MacBook and iTunes but won't sync to my new iPad.
    What can I do?

If you've previously synced the iPad with iTunes on your computer, you can check there for a backup. Just connect the iPad to the computer and right click it in the source list, then choose restore from backup.
I don't think you'll ba able to use that iCloud backup, see this article -> iCloud: Troubleshooting restore issues with iCloud Backup
Error: "Your iPhone cannot be restored because there is a problem with your backup data. Choose a different backup to restore from."
Your Backup does not appear to be usable. If you receive this alert, you should check the iCloud System Status at the iCloud Support website to make sure there are not any issues occurring with iCloud Backup. If there is not a widespread issue notated on the iCloud System Status, the error may self-resolve if you wait several minutes and try again. If issues persist, you should contact iCloud Support via the iCloud Support website.

  • Cannot restore backup from icloud

My problem is like i said on topic,i can't restore my backup from icloud

To restore it, you need to do Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings, then start the iPhone setup process.  Once you enter your WiFi and Apple ID and password, you will be asked how to set up your iPhone.  iCloud backup will be a choice (assuming the same Apple ID created it).

  • HT4859 Restoring backups from iCloud

Can't restore iCloud backups to my phone even after following the advice online

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on the device you want to restore.
When this completes and the Set-Up Assistant starts, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from.
What happens when you try this.

  • IPhone not connecting to the Internet during setup. This means I cannot backup from iCloud. Help!

    Hi,
I was having some issues with my iPhone. I went to the apple store and was told that I was experiencing common software issues and that the best thing I could do is restore my phone to factory settings and then restore from iCloud.
I successfully restore my phone to factory settings, however now I am trying to set up my phone, I cannot connect to wifi and as you know wifi is needed in order to restore backup from iCloud. I do not have an iTunes backup so iCloud is the only option for me.
I am at a complete loss. Please can somebody help!

It only has one Ethernet output and all the devices do connect to the Internet when the switch is out the equation they are hooked up directly through the modem.
You have a simple cable modem that must connect to a router with 3-4 Ethernet ports, then you can connect an Ethernet switch to the router, or if the router has enough Ethernet ports, you can connect directly to the router.
This could be an inexpensive wired only router and you could plug the Express into one of the ports to provide wireless for your network.
Unfortunately, you really need an AirPort Extreme or similar product, since the AirPort Express cannot do what you need without another wired only router.
Be sure to reset the modem and power it off for 10-15 minutes before you connect it to the new router.

  • HT204411 Is it better to setup a new iPad from iTunes with the computer or backup from iCloud

I Got a new iPad air 2. Should i set it up as a restored backup from iCloud or iTunes

Restoring from iTunes backup is a lot faster.
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • After moving from Canada to the US, getting a new iPhone 5C, and restoring my backup from iCloud, I can't update my apps. I get an error message that my account is not valid in the Canadian App store and I must change to the US store. How do I do that?

After moving from Canada to the US, getting a new iPhone 5C, and restoring my backup from iCloud, I can't update my apps. I get an error message that my account is not valid in the Canadian App store and I must change to the US store. How do I do that?

    Change here:
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region.
You must have a verified billing address & be located in the country whose store you are trying to use.

  • When I turn on my new iPhone 5s, I have to select a language and county and then my only options are to restore backup from iTunes or restore from iCloud.  I have already restored form iTunes, so what am I doing wrong?

When I try to turn on my new iPhone 5s, the ONLY options it gives me is to either backup from the iCloud or restore backup from iTunes.  I have already restored the backup from iTunes, so I don't know why it keeps telling me to restore the backup.  And why won't it give me any other options?  I can't text, call, etc.  My phone will do NOTHING.
    Any suggestions?

It seems you restored from a blank back up if it is still asking you to choose one of those options. Set it up as new then manually restore from back up with iTunes on your computer and be sure to check the date of the back up an which phone the back up is from.

  • How do I prevent icloud from overwriting my contacts when doing a restore backup from PC to iphone?

My icloud contact list is screwed up. I have my contact list in my PC backup. I've removed icloud from iphone AND changed apple ID and icloud ID, yet when I attempt to restore backup from PC to iphone, my correct contact list shows up momentarily, then reverts to the screwed up icloud contact list.
I understand that my PC backup is set to connect to icloud; however, one would think by removing the email address associated with apple or icloud that it would not be able to connect to icloud when I do a restore backup from PC to iphone. Yet each time I find icloud connected via my old email address after attempting the restore.
How do I fix this? This seems like an icloud bug, since it connects via my old email/ID.

The problem may be that the iphone is immediately syncing with icloud and losing the newly restored data.  You might turn off your router.  Once restored, turn off icloud on the device, turn on the router, then turn on the iphone.
(I'm going by memory on this, and that hasn't been too reliable lately.)
