IPhone 4's iPod Album Artwork Mixed Up

So, in my iTunes, all albums have the proper album artwork. It's always been like that. Now, with my iPhone 4 I've never had any issues until recently. After syncing all the music to my iPhone 4, everything seems alright at first. While scrolling through the albums, I see all the matching artwork, but when I play a song, the artwork changes to that of a different album. It happens with all music on my iPhone 4.
So in other words, only while playing a song/album, the wrong artwork is showing. Not a huge deal whatsoever but it would be nice to have this fixed.
Also, this doesn't happen all the time. It just happens whenever the phone feels like doing so.

If it is the same albums doing it, you could try unsynching then resynching those albums. That has fixed the problem for me in the past. Admittedly it's a bit problematic if it is totally random.

I select all the songs from the album, I drag the picture -from folder or safari- then i drop it in the artwork box...
sometimes shows for the first song only, but always shows for the album little preview, and never for the rest of the songs...

Problem when Syncing Music: Album Artwork Mixed Up on Ipod Touch

I have a 64gb iPod touch, 4th generation. I sync my music over usb to the iPod through itunes with my entire library. Over the past year I have been having an issue where the music album artwork will be mixed up or sometimes dissapear/not show. Not all of my music does this, mind you, but only some of it. I have a lot of music so it's hard to say what percentage of it but it seems to be at random. I don't mean random as in it changes everytime but that there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason behind which tracks/albums get their artwork mixed up. I have no videos on the ipod either.
So I've tried many things. I've reset my iPod Touch, always made sure the music app didn't appear in the bottom tray after double clicking(when I sync) and even tried setting my library up on my new computer (it used to be on my old one). Also I've gone through my mp3 collection and cleaned and synchronized all of the tags(between albums, ID3v1 & ID3v2) and album artwork with Mp3Tag. Everything is flawless (I have OCD, hah). Also everything appears correct in iTunes and I'm only having the issue on my iPod touch.
Here is a breakdown of what I've noticed but can't explain:
1.Reset ipod, reinstall iOs,
2.Sync library with iPod touch, everything is fine,
3.Add a few more tracks to the iTunes library,
4.Resync iPod Touch(here I've noticed something weird. Now the ipod resyncs some of tracks that are already on my iPod Touch and when I look at those tracks in the music app the album artwork is mixed up or sometimes gone.
So I don't really know what to do. I've looked through every forum and website looking for a fix and tried everything I can think of or suggested so far. Any help would be appreciated. I should point out that this problem is merely cosmetic and all the tracks play fine. But I bought a $400 iPod Touch and it can't even do the one thing that made it famous properly. I don't know, these electronics are expensive and things like this are helping me to lose faith in Apple. I've already bought an android phone over lack of faith that the iPhone would display my music correctly. I know it seems silly but an organized library is important to how much I can enjoy my device.

Album artwork mixed with other artwork

my album artwork has been mixed with other album artwork of songs that I have removed off my phone. the mixed up artwork is only in the purchased songs. any suggestions on how to fix this? I am not looking to download apps or jailbreak my phone to fix this problem.

I have the same problem and this is how I get it to work.
Although the artwork in iTunes seems correct, you still need to check individual Artwork on each Album. (The new iTunes seems to mass them up.)
Go to iTunes Music and right click "get info -> artwork" on each of your song.
Make sure the artwork shows up.
In my case, some of the artwork is missing and some of them looks strange. Reset any artwork that is missing.
Uncheck the music sync so the existing music in your ipod is removed.
Before resync, go to your ipod to make sure all the music files are actually removed.
Resync.

IPhone 5 Missing Some Album Artwork

I posted this question weeks ago, surprised Apple hasnt communicated a fix/solution to date - Had a iPhone4, with ALL artwork in tact.....upgraded to the 5, and only a portion of the artwork came over on the synch. I manage my music manually, and 99% of my music has been purchased on iTunes. There has to be a simple reason, accompanied by a simple solution. Anyone? It has long past being an annoyance, its become infuriating.

This is what I figured out I went back to my itunes 10.7 on my MBP and all my album artwork that was not showing up on my iPhone 5 was showing up in coverflow on my MBP but after closer exam the ones missing from iphone 5 actually were missing from the selected item pane or the drag artwork here area so I downloaded and added my art by going to just the ones that were missing from that or you can get info on selected track and go to art tab and add it there after doing that on the first 25 missing I synced the phone and they all came back. Still don't know how they got stripped out of itunes in the preview but not the coverflow but I guess that's for the Geniuses at Apple to come up with. Apple please don't remove coverflow and Album art people love that dont screw it up
Make sure you stay away from upgrading to itunes 11 if you love album art and coverflow they have been removed and the new interface is really really complicated and very unappealing graphically

In iTunes I can't see my iPod album artwork...

I bought the new iPod nano two months ago, and it has always had this problem with my iTunes. I have selected the option for displaying album artwork in the bottom left corner, but even though I actually have album artwork assigned to songs (it is displayed on the actual iPod) it doesn't appear in iTunes. Does anyone know why this is or what I can do?

In iTunes in the bottom left corner of the program there are four buttons - "Create a Playlist", "Turn shuffle on or off", "Play playlist once, repeat playlist or repeat item" and next to those three (the far right) is a little icon that resembles an arrowhead in a box. If you click on that the artwork viewer will pop up, and you can either set it up so that it shows only the artwork of the song you are listening to, or the artwork of the song highlighted.

CD to iPod album artwork?

Hi - this is my first time posting. I have a 5G iPod - the 30GB one. I have downloaded about 50 songs from iTunes and I like how it shows the album artwork on my iPod when I am playing it. I also downloaded a lot of music from CDs (like 1000 songs) when I first got the iPod a few months ago - but the album artwork for these does not display. I just tried (a few minutes ago while my iPod is charging attached to the computer) dragging them into that dotted line box in iTunes, but it didn't work. Is there anyway to get album artwork from CDs to display on your iPod - or does it just work for downloaded music from iTunes? Thanks so much for your help!

I have my iPod set to manually download changes (since my husband puts some things in our Library that I don't want on my iPod) - will I have to manually re-download all the songs (after adding the album artwork in the Library) onto my iPod or will it automatically download that change? I don't want to end up with duplicated songs so I hesitate to redownload the songs, so I am hoping it will just update that change. Sorry for all the questions before I've even tried what you suggested - I really appreciate the help though!

IPhone 5 thumbnails for album artwork incorrect

I've been having a problem with the album artwork that displays as a thumbnail when you open the music app. For all the albums which contain music videos, a snapshot of the video appears to be replacing the normal artwork for the album. However when I open the album to view the tracklist, or actually play any of the songs in it, it displays the correct artwork as it did before the problem arose. So the issue here is simply with the thumbnails that display in the album menu of the music app.
This first started occurring after I attempted to sync my iPhone to my PC through iTunes, after which the thumbnails for the album artwork all disappeared entirely. I unsynced and redownloaded my music only to find that the thumbnails for several albums were still incorrect as I explained above.
Deleting the videos from the albums does not solve the issue, nor does redownloading the album in it's entirety.

IPod album artwork - scrambled; how to fix?

The album artwork on my iPod is all scrambled up (but it is perfectly fine on my computer). Some albums have the artwork from another album, some have a black square, some have a white square, and some have four small albums patched together in one giant square. What gives? Why is it doing this and how can I fix it?

you could try restoring your ipod from itunes but make sure your music, apps, ect are backed up on the computer first

IPod Album Artwork

In the song info tab when I add artwork, it displays on the iPod and in iTunes, but it doesn't display in the artwork tab for me to delete it... Here's a screen shot:

As you can see, the song is playing and the artwork is being displayed, but it's not showing in the info tab.
It hasn't always done this and it is like this for every single song in iTunes. It doesn't matter if I put the artwork on there manually or automatically from the iTunes store.
Any suggestions?

Album Artwork Solved! Hurray! (most common problem)

Ok so here's the problem for people having issues with album artwork showing ONLY in ITUNES and NOT in their iPod! So you've get the "Display Album Artwork on iPod" box checked and everything right? That not solving anything? Well here's the possible problem. People who DO NOT USE THEIR iTUNES LIBRARY TO SYNC SONGS TO THEIR iPOD... this is your most likely problem as to why album art is not showing on your iPod. I'm pretty sure that everything has to be tranferred through your iTunes library for this newest iTunes version. This was my problem! I always Clicked and Dragged a song directly onto my songs list in itunes. This obviously is an issue with the newest iTunes because when you go to put Album art on the songs you clicked and dragged onto your iPod, iTunes will show it but your iPod will not! So far I've restored my iPod and put everything into my Library from my songs and videos folders. Then I left the "Manually Update iPod..." box CHECKED!!!! Leave it checked and only use your library to put on songs and videos (I repeat). So far my album artwork is on all the songs i have put album art onto using my iTunes Library. I'm not so sure about the problems people are having with the album artwork mixed up with different songs, but if it happens to me then i will try to figure it out and post something. Listen to the other people who have solutions because they are the ones who helped me. If you can't find anything right now, keep searching and come back later to see newer posts. If you paste new artwork onto that artwork box at the bottom left it gets added to any existing art for each selected track, and more to the point it gets added as the last item, whereas iTunes will normally show the first.
To replace all art for selected tracks with a new image, select the tracks in question, Get Info. and then paste the image into the Artwork box on the Info tab.
As you have seen album images need to be square to show neatly. I find Paint.NET handy for cropping & resizing.
