Iphone 4 says I have no storage available even though I do
(I have an iphone 4; 6.4G)
So lately I've been running out on space. I had about 600 pics, 32 songs, and 18 apps that I have downloaded. Normally I'll be able to delete some pictures or something and I'll have enough storage again. But now I have 400 pics, 30 songs, and 17 apps and I STILL quote end-quote "dont have enough storage". I've tried backing it up to icloud but it does nothing. I've hard reset my phone, simply turning it off and even tried just letting the battery run down. Nothing works. And I've checked too to make sure that I really have enough. I have 6.4G space and I've only used 1115 MB and 1GB is only 1024 MB, which means I should of only have used 1. something GBs but my phone says different and I cant download anything. Can someone tell me what's wrong???

... and 5.27 GB IN OTHER!!! what is this other and how can I get rid of it? Its clogging my space
Other is usually around 1 GB...
A ' Large Other ' usually indicates Corrupt Data...
First Try a Restore from Backup...
But... if the Large Other Persists, that is an Indicator of Corrupt Data in the Backup...
Then a Restore as New is the way to go...

I plugged my iphone 4s into my mac to sync it and it wouldnt allow me to do so and says I have no more gb available, but again I have nothing on my phone and have barely anything synced. More than 80% is filled with documents and data???
If Other (the yellow bar) is too big something is corrupted. The only solution (that I know of) is to restore from your most recent backup using iTunes (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766).

I deleted everything on my phone but it still said I was using 6 gigabytes. Help, please!
How could anyone here possibly know what is taking up space on your device?
Look for yourself and find out.
Settings > General > Usage
Or connect the device to a computer running iTunes and look at the Summary tab. -
i am very upset with this. in september i got an android phone so my itunes account was untouched till today. I had a lot of music that i loved and i would like to be able to listen to it via itunes on my laptop. when i signed in, i went to purchased and it said nothing has been purchased! obviously apple has changed the setup but my friends who have had itunes this whole time dont have this problem. Please help get my music back. i dont think I'll continue using apple products if they are going to do something like this and waste my money
Hi elaina,
You are looking in the wrong place for your purchased items - it is a bit confusing. The Purchased option under the Library only shows items you have purchased on that device.
To find your entire set of Purchased items, click on the iTunes Store. Once you have the Store opened, click on the Music tab, and then click on Purchased under Quick Links on the right.
You will then see a screen that has several tabs - Music, Movies, Books, Apps, etc. Click on the Music Tab, then click on All Songs. On the top of the screen, click on All. You will then see a list of all your purchased songs. Any that are not currently downloaded to the computer you are on will have a little cloud next to them.
You can click on each cloud selectively to download music, or you can click on Download All at the bottom of the screen.
Post back with any questions!
Cheers,

I have the Iphone 4 (not the 4s) and never had any problems. I share an ICloud account with my parents and sister, and now my iphone is saying I have no storage. I deleted all my pictures and a majority of my apps and it still won't let me take any pictures, purchase any apps, or update my phone because I have no storage. I don't know what to do.
Turn off iCloud on the device. Does it work now?
If it does, then it will be necessary to either stop sharing the iCloud account or purchase additional storage for it.
If turning off iCloud does not work, try basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide of reset, restart, restore. -
My iPhone 4 says I have 4.9 GB of my free 5 GB iCloud storage available, but when I try to back up the phone to iCloud I get the message that I do not have enough storage to back up this device. What am I doing wrong??
Import them to your computer as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, then either delete them from your phone or exclude the camera roll from your iCloud backup by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your phone under Backups, then turn Camera Roll to Off under Backup Options.
Also check Settings>General>Usage to see how much availble space is on your phone. If you have to delete apps in order to take photos, you may be out of space on your phone. If so, you need to delete something in order to create more space. -
ICloud will not back up my phone and says i do not have enough storage available.
I used my sons Apple ID and password when setting up my iPhone 4s. It now says that i do not have enough storage available to back up my phone. How can i set up my own account without losing any data?
<Edited by Host>Hey e.cliff,
Thanks for the question. When you sign out of your son’s iCloud account you will be prompted to keep or delete the data on your phone. After you elect to keep the data on your device, you can setup your own iCloud account and the data will be merged/uploaded to your new account:

As always, it is a good idea to backup your device before attempting these steps:

I have installed the most recent version of Snow Leopard on my MAC, and I am trying to install Mountain Lion from the Apple Store. It will not install, because it says I do not have 2GB of memory, even though I have over 200GB available. Please help.
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
One thing is the memory, and another thing is the hard disk space. You are telling me that you have 200 GB of free space on the hard disk, but the App Store is telling you that you have to install 2 GB of memory or more on your Mac if you want to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
First of all, open > About this Mac > More Info, and copy "Model Identifier" here, so we can know what Mac you have got and how much memory you can install.
We recommend to buy the memory in OWC or Crucial (Crucial is cheaper and offers the same compatibility warranty as OWC) because you won't probably have any problem with the memory you buy there -
I rented a movie on my iphone but don't have enough storage space to download it. Whenever I push the "download" button on my computer's itunes, nothing happens. How can I get it to my computer or another device?

I'm getting an error: not enough space to backup on icloud, but I do have enough storage available. Can you advise?
There shouldn't be any fee involved. Call the Apple online store for your country (1-800-MY-APPLE in the U.S. and Canada) and request a refund.
If the download is stuck, you can download in iTunes on your computer, then sync it to your iPad once your free up some space. This explains how to download your previous purchases to your computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519. -
I cannot sync my iPad or iPhone to iTunes on my Windows 8 PC, even though I have been doing this successfully for years. I have been through all the troubleshooting steps I can find in iTunes, to no avail. Help please?
I seem to be having the same problem on my Windows 8 laptop... I am able to update my iPod Nano through iTunes but my iPhone is not recognized as a device in iTunes. Have been able to update my iPad until recently. Is this a bug fix that Apple can help with? I'd rather not uninstall all my Apple programs if I can avoid it...

Help with iCloud as I just tried and it says I have no storage ???? Never used it and have little to store
Welcome to the Apple Community Shannon.
You can see what your iCloud storage is used for and delete any unwanted content at settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage > Manage...... on your iOS device. Or System Preferences > iCloud > Manage...... on a Mac. -
Since installing the latest version of iTunes all my music files cannot be edited, and I cannot import new music files into iTunes. The messages says I do not have enough access privileges even though I am the administrator of the system. If anyone can help me sort this out I would be really grateful. I have checked the read and write privileges for all the iTunes folders and it all seems in order so I can't understand it.
In general, I am getting really frustrated with Apple. They seem to be getting ever more controlling in their approach to their consumers. I need to edit music file information as I am a dj. And why can't I import music, unless I buy it from iTunes? Most of all, why can't I use the devices I paid a lot of money for in the way I want to use them, and not be forced to coerced to use apple's fee paying services (iCloud, iTunes).
I have used apple computers since the early 1990's, but in the last year I have gotten rid of my iPhone and my iPad and replaced them with Android devices. Much better and much less control. Perhaps it is time to switch from Apple altogether.Hi
