Iphone 4 service???

I just got my iphone 4, they set up my at&t service at the apple store(new at&t customer) unlocked the phone and sent me home. They said it might take 25 minutes to get service, well its been 2 hours and nothing yet. my concern is that I want to register my iphone and I need to know the cell number at&t is going to give me. I checked my email receipt and under my billing address is an at&t number, is that going to be my iphone number???? thanks a lot for your help

The iPhone warranty is  NOT international (The EU is considered "one country" for warranty purposes). You will need to send it to someone in Singapore to take it in and have it serviced.

  • Support for iPhone servicing/replacement overseas?

    Hi,
I'm at an odd case here, and talkign to the AppleCare CSRs in both North America and here in Germany (ended up talking to someone in Hungary and someone in India on the phone...) they weren't all that sure how to help me.
Purchased my iPhone4 with AT&T about 8.5mth ago (so still under Apple Limited Warrenty) but my phone is officially dead:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15277621#15277621
No response to hard boot, recovery mode, DFU mode, plugging into iTunes or plugging into AC power.
AppleCare suggested a replacement, but two problems:
First: They were unsure that if I was able to bring it into an AppleStore in Germany (none of which are remotely close to me...) if the would replace it and
Second: If they did replace it, I was told it would then 'be locked to German providers'
Question 1: Has anyone had luck getting their iPhones serviced away from their purchasing country?
Question 2: I'm confused about the 'locked to German providers' comment... iPhones sold in AppleStores in Germany are sold unlocked... Would they lock mine to a provider on purpose? Or is the unlocking not handled by the AppleStore... I'm not too familiar with the process because it's impossible in the US. Honestly I dont care about unlocked or not right now... I just want to be able to use it!
Any advice would be great! Thanks

If you purhcased the iphone in U.S and is roaming in Germany. You will have to take it back to U.S and get it replaced from there. Warranty is only valid where it was purchased. If you have a friend or relative in U.S, send the phone to them, have them take it to the apple store and replace the phone and send it back. How are you managing to roam internationally? Surely it's not cheap.

  • HT204053 Can I set up icloud services on multiple iphones under a single account? More specifically, can I use- find my iphone services -under one account?

Can I use Find My iphone service with multiple iphones under one account? I have 4 iphones in my family and I want to monitor all phones by logging into one account!

You can create and use different iCloud accounts on the same computer, whether they are single or multiple user.
There is a limit of 3 accounts you can create from a device but I thought this was only iOS devices - maybe not.
iCloud accounts can only be created using a valid email address, so I guess I'd start there to retrace what accounts you have.
My Apple ID and iForgot.com may be useful sites for you.

  • Find My iPhone service for Auckland, New Zealand

    Hi,
I was wondering if there is any Apple iPhone user from Auckland, New Zealand? I mean I got some serious question for Find My iPhone service on MobileMe.
The thing is when I inserted Vodafone NZ SIM, the Find my iPhone shows me closer to my location but not accurate, when I actually inserted 2Degrees it shows me way North of my current location approx more than 5KM away and Google Maps the current location is way wrong, it's an urban area anyway. The thing is it actually works really well in Auckland city, so if you lost you phone in an urban area you might as well tries to forget it?
All and all, does Find My iPhone service relies on Telco service?

0_o What about TomTom App compared to TomTom GPS Device? Do they rely on Cell Towers too? I'm sorry this is off topic but TomTom App sure look like a nice addon for my app.
Car navigation apps use only GPS. They have to work in areas with no cell phone coverage. It takes longer to get the initial location, but the GPS is left on, since they are normally getting power from the car. The iPhone's built-in map app just turns on GPS when needed, to save power, so faster startup is important.
And back on topic, let's said if I lost my iPhone and since the signal location is not accurate do I actually lose my iPhone for good?
You can end a message and sound to it, so someone might find and return it. It won't help in the case of a thief, of course.
And since this is no good to me I wonder if MobileMe service is really worth it at all.
It's not worth it for just the Find My iPhone function (unless you frequently misplace things), but if you have a Mac, it's other functions can be worth the cost.

  • Can I disable Cellular data (US Data plan) and still use the Find My Iphone Service (GPS??) in France?

I have a US Model iPhone 4 (ATT).  I'll be traveling to France for 2 months and I'd like to be able to disable my cellular data while on travel.
    My questions:
    - Can I do this and still access Wifi? I think yes
    - Can I do this and still use Skype? I think yes
    - Can I do this and still use GPS for the Find My iPhone Service?  I don't know....
    - If I can't do any of the above then what are my options?
    JC

Find my Phone requires a data connection. If cellular data is turned off, it will be pretty much useless unless you are constantly connected to WiFi, which of course you won't be. Same with Skype, data connection required, so will work when connected to WiFi. Unlees the mapping data is stored locally on your phone, GPS will be useless, as the built in Maps app requires a data connection as none of the data is stored on your phone.

  • Why Doesn't O2 give us the Iphone services as promised?

O2 promise the services when they took on the Iphone. But i can't get Edge ANYWHERE. Google locate me never works. But i have read that it does with other networks. It's very disappointing. Anyone else think this or is it just me?

    Tamara wrote:
If you're not using O2, why are you complaining about it?
I expect that he is basing his opinion on not being able to receive Edge on his current 02 phone, and hence wondering whether he will be able to access it on the iPhone, when he buys it, if it is available solely on the iPhone 02 tariff, but not on the standard 02 tariffs. The answer in both cases is no: if he can't get Edge on his current phone, he won't be able to get it on the iPhone either.
If I'm correct, then all that can be done is to contact 02 to see when Edge will be available in his area, and wait until then to buy the iPhone.

  • Activating iPhone service without a computer

Okay, so here's the deal: I bought my iPhone 3G back in October 2008. I cancelled my service due to being unable to make payments. I would like to reactivate it again. Only problem is that I have no regular access to a computer or my own personal iTunes. I have a lot of data (music, videos, etc) that I would like to keep. What are my options for reactivating my service without losing any data or syncing it to iTunes (reactivating or signing up for new service is not an issue.)

You should be able to visit the shop of your country's iPhone carrier and have it re-activated for use without any issues. They would be able to activate it there.

  • IPhone service terminated. Can I pay iTouch price for new 2.0 software?

I terminated my iPhone ATT contract when I moved to out-of-service area (Vermont). All other functions on my iPhone still work and I have an "iTouch" now with a camera. Can I pay Apple the iTouch download fee for the new 2.0 software since I cannot activate my original iPhone again here in Vermont? Or should I just sell it and buy a new iTouch?
    Thanks.

Can I pay Apple the iTouch download fee for the new 2.0 software?
The iPod touch 2.0 download will not install on your iPhone as it is specifically designed for the iPod touch. In addition, any updates or restores on an iPhone require re-activation of the device.
If you really want the 2.0 software, your best bet is to get the iPod touch.
    Good luck!

  • Ohio - Cleveland & Akron 3G iPhone Service

I'm currently on the edge of purchasing a 3G iPhone and I had a few questions for people in the same area as me. I use Verizon right now and I don't have any problems with them at all, but their internet is slow and they don't have the iPhone. I've heard alot about the service problems with the new 3G iPhone and was wondering about regular AT&T service in this area as well. I just don't want to make the switch and then I'm completely screwed. So my question to people is, if you are in the Cleveland Akron area of Ohio and have AT&T service and/or a 3G iPhone, how is the service? What are the ups and downs?
    Thanks in advance!

I bought my iPhone in mentor but I live in canton. I used my iPhone around cleveland, mostly airport area and downtown for three days with no problems with reception. Then I drove home and kept an eye on the signal while driving from cleveland, through akron, to canton and did not have any reception problems or dropped calls.
I also have had great reception through canton, mostly full bars and I haven't had one dropped call. It's just as good if not better than my previous carrier, alltel. The only time I don't have reception is deep within a government building downtown canton with lots of very thick walls. The closer I get to the outside wall the higher the bars and fortunately in my office I get 4 bars.
I know I haven't spent a lot of time in the akron/cleveland area but what time I have I had no issues. Hope this helps you (or anyone in canton thinking about switching).

  • IPhone service (specifically speaker replacement)

So my beloved iPhone has developed a bit of a problem. The earpiece (i.e. non-speakerphone speaker) has developed a bit of a crackle. It's not too bad yet, but if I know my consumer electronics, it's not gonna get better...
Long story short, I'm looking for a good (preferably cheap) way to get out-of-warranty service for the phone. I could pay Apple the $199 fee and get a refurbished one -- but I'm loath to do that for such a simple repair.
Therefore, I was wondering if anyone knows of:
    A way to get out-of-warranty service for < $199?
    (or)
A good third party repair company (mail order service is fine) that can replace the speaker?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Apple supervisor please help,  bad iPhone service.

    Hi.
I have new iPhone 3GS (27.1), from the beginning the iPhone touch screen not worked properly. I contact the call phone company and they told me to reset the iphone. the problem not solved and became harder. yesterday I made full restore to the iphone and the touch screen not working at all.
I have MacBook Pro, iPod, iMac and iPhone. every instrument I have I mark with scratch. I went to the cell phone (Plephone in Israel) and they told me that the iPhone is not working well but they can't send it to Apple because of the scratch. I show to them my MacBook Pro and the scratch on it and they told me that they believe but they can't do nothing.
    I think that it's a bad excuse.
    what can I do now?

If the technician at your cell carrier made the judgement that the iPhone was dropped or otherwise damaged, then the warranty on the iPhone has probably been voided. In that case, you'll have to pay for repairs.
As Tamara said, Apple does not directly provide support in Israel; all iPhone support is through your cell carrier, so any decisions on such issues are made by the carrier. Perhaps you can speak to a supervisor at your cell carrier and plead your case. Otherwise you probably will not be able to get this problem serviced under warranty and will need to pay for a replacement at whatever rate your carrier charges.
    Regards.

  • Iphone Services in Dominican Republic?

    Hi guys,
I recently bought an Iphone 1.1.2 in US and brought it to Dominican Republic. I read that It's not possible to use the Phone services.
Right now any Telephone Company is given services for the Iphone but I've heard that Orange is going to do that mid-february.
    My questions are:

2- If I Telecom brings services for the Iphone, Will I be able to unlocked my Iphone with that telecom?
    Regards,

No one knows. It has not been not announced if iPhone will ever be in the DR.
2- If I Telecom brings services for the Iphone, Will I be able to unlocked my Iphone with that telecom?
No. The iPhone is locked to carriers. The iPhone for the US is solely locked to AT&T for the US.
