Iphone 4 showing wrong IP address for home wireless
2 days ago we reset our home wireless password and updated our devices (ipad, laptop, and two cell phones). Now my iphone 4 will no longer connet to the wireless. It accepts the new password to join the network but it never connects. It is showing wrong IP address. How can I change it to the correct IP ? Tried hard rest, forget network, and renew lease all trying to get it to automatically update the info. Out of ideas. Any suggestions?
I have the exact same router as you, I have Comcast, and I am having the exact same INFURIATING problem.
Comcast and Apple have no ideas. Linksys tells me I am having a router problem.
I even went so far as to buy a new router and modem from Linksys (as they claim they no longer make the router/modem combo because it doesn't work well). I still don't buy this... my PC, my PS3, my DS... all of them connect to the router perfectly.
I have the new modem and router here and planned to give that a whirl tonight but Comcast was being difficult and saying it could take 72 hours to activate my new modem. Totally unsat. I had them reconnect the WCG200 and I am still trouble shooting to no avail...
If anyone finds a fix (short of a new router and new modem)... please post!

Why does Airport Admin Utility show wrong IP address for base station?
After setting up my new MacBook Pro (and apparently updating Airport Extreme firmware in the process) running OS X 10.4.5, whenever I try to access the base station (IP 10.0.1.1) from my PowerBook G# (Firewire) running OS X 20.2.8, Admin shows 254.128.0.0. I cannot access the configuration windows, getting an error message "An error occured while reading the configuration."
I am also currently unable to pringt from the Powerbook and an iBook (also running OS X 10.2.8).I just tried the hard reset, and nothing has changed. I had to rename the base station and network, and change the passwords, but I still see the wrong IP from the PowerBook, and I still can print only from the MacBook Pro, where I also see the correct IP address for the AEBS.

I just upgraded my MacBook from OS X 10.6.8 to Mountain Lion so that I could stream from my other devices (iPhone and iPad) to my MacBook. After making it through the upgrade process, I realized that I used the wrong email address for my iCloud username when starting up on the MacBook. My iPhone, iPad, and iTunes are under my Hotmail email address and I accidently used my Gmail email address for the MacBook. Is there any way I can merge these two icloud accounts together? I tried changing my account information to add the other email address, but wasn't allowed because another account was using the name (duh). If I can't merge them, how could I change the MacBook from the Gmail address to the Hotmail address so that all my devices are on the same icloud account? It'd be nice if I could keep the free 5GB of storage that comes with my purchase of the software, but I'd rather lose the storage than not be able to stream.
To change accounts on your Mac, go to System Preferences, sign out of the current account, then sign into the new account. When you sign out of the current account it will delete synced data from your Mac. Assuming your data (such as contacts, calendars, etc.) is in the other iCloud account, it will be synced to your Mac when you sign into this account.

I forget my identity question and I wrote wrong email address for rescue email
I forget my identity question and I wrote wrong email address for rescue email so I've tried to contact. Apple support about 2 days and I failed.
what should I doHow did you try to contact Support ? You should be able to contact Support in your country, who should be able to reset your questions, via the link/number for your country on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset you can then use the steps on this page to update your rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5620 -

IPhones not taking ipv4 addresses on Unified Wireless (WLC 5508 and AP 3602)
This is a really odd one...
Earlier this week we started having issues with our BYOD wireless network (802.1x, WPA2+AES) but only with Apple devices (iphone and ipad). Employees with Android or Windows phones are not having any problems at all.
A brief summary of what's observable for the issue:
Radius authentication succeeds (PASS observable in ACS logs)
IPhone status viewed on both controllers (foreign anchor in DMZ as well as corporate WLC) shows phone associated.
Debug client output shows an IPv4 address is actually being assigned to the phone however it appears to ignore it and restart the DHCP request process so debug output shows what looks to be a loop of DHCP request and offer stages.
Infrastructure notes
Cisco WLC 5508s are all running 7.4.121.0 (tried rolling back to 7.2.110.0 .....didn't help)
APs are all 3602I-N-K9
DHCP for the BYOD network is running on the anchor in the DMZ however this was temporarily moved to a switch (had no effect).
Any ideas?

IPhone 5 won't connect to home wireless network
After updating to iOS 7 my iPhone 5 has been unable to connect to the wireless network in my home. It will recognize it, ask me to input password, and then it will say it cannot connect. I have shut the iPhone 5 on/off, turned on/off the wireless, turned on/off the bluetooth, and attempted to install the latest iOS update (but cannot because it won't let me unless I am connected to wifi).
I am having this problem with my MacBook Pro as well. There is something wrong with your wireless router or network - especially if you have no problem connecting your iPhone and MPB with any other wi-fi network besides your own.
Have you tried resetting your wireless router and network in conjunction with the modem, and/or have you checked the manufacturer's website to see if there is a firmware update available for your wireless router model that has not been installed?
What type of encryption are you using with your wireless network - WEP, or WPA2? -
Is openDNS be an advantage to my home wireless serving all wireless devices & up internet speed and faster identification?
There are always pros and cons for everything. If you want to go with OpenDNS consider some of these things:
Please don’t expect huge gains in browsing speed since OpenDNS only improves the cycle between your computer and the DNS server.
I got this from this site:
OpenDNS: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly
" OpenDNS is fast and reliable, more than the service offered by any ISP I have used. In addition, it offers a host of other features: Content Filtering, Phishing Protection, Domain Blocking, Adult Site Blocking, Web Proxy Blocking, Domain Whitelisting, Statistics, Typo Correction, Web Shortcuts.
When you type in a domain that does not exist, OpenDNS resolves it to it’s own servers and shows search results (powered by Yahoo!) that they hope will help you find the site you were looking for."

Stuck in set up off iPad Air entered in wrong email address for icloud account
i have just bought a brand new iPad Air my daughter was helping set it up for the first time - straight out the box and typed in the wrong email address - she left out a b in the email address. she noticed straight away but now we cant find a way to change the email address it seems locked in. we are not even finished with the set up process. we keep going to start over and we start by choosing region etc but then when we get to enter in the Apple ID thats already filled in and the only option is to give a password but the password is for a different email address. please help how can i go back to factory mode and completely start the process again. as i said we are in the middle of set up havent even gotten past the Apple ID
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary. -
Iphone using wrong apple id for updates
This has been working in the past but today it is not. I have updated to iOS software 7.1 (11D167) but I don't know if that caused this problem. I only know that I have successfully installed software updates in the past but when I tried today I could not.
I have 5 apps showing as needing updates. They are Bing Search, Lose It!, Yellow Pages and Ancestry. When I try to update all or even each one individually, it prompts me to sign in to iTunes Store and asks for the apple ID password and shows my apple id. What is showing is a very old ID and not my full email address. When I put my apple ID password in it does not recognize it.
I then decided to try and install a new app and see if the app store would have the correct apple ID. When I selected to install the new app, it prompted me for my apple ID password and had the correct apple ID (my full email address showing). I entered my apple ID and the install proceeded successfully.
I saw on another post that there might be old apple IDs in settings for messages, itunes store, etc. so I checked those settings and all of them have my correct full email address for the apple ID.
What's mostly frustrating is that these apps were free to start with so why do I have to enter in a password at all for the updates?
Does anyone know why my phone has reverted to an old apple ID for app updates only, and why now when it was working before? Is there a way I can get apple to destroy any reference to my old unused (and now unacceptable format) apple ID so that it won't pop up to haunt me again?
Thanks for any guidance...Delete the apps from the phone and re-download or re-purchase them with the ID you intend to use.

ITunes and my iPhone show two different amounts for available space
I have been unable to syncronize my iPhone 5 for a while now. I've tried unchecking the box to "Sync Music" which warned me it would remove music from my phone and then re-checking to re-add music back to my phone. This has worked in the past when my phone has had issues synchronizing. Now I appear to be totally stuck though.
The issue I've run in to is that iTunes says that I have 4177 songs (24.80 GB) on my iPhone (see below).
My iPhone under storage settings says I have 6.5GB (see below).
When I try to sync, I get the error message that says I don't have enough free space. I've tried clearing out apps, etc to give me more free space but what I'm finding again and again is that the issue is what iTunes thinks I have as free space is different than what my iPhone thinks.
For instance right now my iPhone shows 20.1 GB available but when I try to synchronize, iTunes says I need an additional 244.6 MB of free space. I clearly have way more than that according to my iPhone but can't seem to figure anything out.
If it's helpful, I'm in iOS version 8.2 and iTunes version 12.1.1.4 running on Windows 7 Professional SP1You may notice a difference in available space statistics between Disk Utility, Finder, and Get Info inspectors. This is expected and can be safely ignored. The Finder displays the available space on the disk without accounting for the local snapshots, because local snapshots will surrender their disk space if needed.
About Time Machine's "local snapshots" on portable Macs -
My 4S died this week and I was told it could not be repaired, so I was issued a new one. During set up I could not remember my password, so set up a new one. I think I used the wrong email address, not sure. At any rate, now my phone and pad don't sync. How can I get this corrected? Thanks!
It looks like your printer isn't on the list of air print enabled printers. It'll still work, you just need to do some tweaking.
You can see if samsung has any apps to enable printing.
or
You can look into a third party app like Print n Share or Print Central.
Then you can print from your iPad. -
My husband put the wrong email address as his apple id and now I can not change it?
What exactly do you want to sync? Ideally, each phone should use its own Apple ID to keep contacts, messages, etc. separate. You wouldn't want to share your contacts and have him accidentally delete one off of his phone which would remove from yours as well.
If you want to share apps, you can do that by having him log out of iTunes & App Store and logging in with your ID on that app only.
