Iphone 4 shuts down constantly for no reason.

iPhone 4 won't charge beyond 62%. Shuts off and will not be turned on when unplugged. Internet won't work. Wifi option can not be turned on. Can scroll through settings but any other app will cause phone to shut down and restart. Anyone have any idea what's going on?? It's been doing this for a couple weeks now. It will go through a fit like this for a day and then function just fine. Just this morning I watched netflix on it while at the gym. When I got home I plugged it in because it was down to 50odd% and now it's doing this again. Frustrating as all ****.

Start with the recommended user troubleshooting steps as outlined in the manual - restart, reset, restore, restore as new. Have you done any of these? Looks like it's turning itself off so restarting and resetting may be fruitless, so I'd start with a backup and restore through iTunes. If that doesn't solve your troubles, restore as a new device to see if the problem is in your backup file or with one of your apps.

  • Toshiba Qosmio X500-12N Shuts Down/Restarts for no reason

As the title says. This started happening some months now. It always happens when I play games, watch Twitch.tv streams or watch XBMC. I took my laptop to the local Toshiba store and told me that the fans were faulty and needed to be changed. They wanted to charge me 300 dollars for it so I decided to order a brand new heatsink with fans included from the internet for 100 dollars. I changed the whole heatsink with a brand new one and it keeps shutting down. They also said that there might be a problem with the hard drivers and that's what causing the problem. What do you guys think is the problem?

    Hi KyriakosMenelaou,
I experience this issue before when im playing LOL [Legends of League] my laptop shuts down/restarts for no reason while im playing the game.
I tried to install the latest directX support for my video graphics and update the latest version of my video graphics.
Patch the latest video graphics driver support for the game. If you are using ATI or NVIDIA you can directly go the this website to download the latest video driver.
Until now it works perfectly fine w/o a problem.
But what if the issue still persist?
I might say that you need to do system recovery.
But what if the issue still persist?
I might say that you need to replace you internet hdd.
Hope this will work for you. ^_^
BTW IF YOU THINK IT HELPS ALOT. PLEASE DONT BE AFRAID TO CLICK KUDOS star ^_^

  • Iphone 5 shuts down constantly? I use it for a bit, put it in my pocket, take it out to use it again and it has shut down. Do I restore?

As of yesterday, my Iphone 5 has started to shut down on its own. Batterys shows healthy charge and I'm yet to witness the shut down. I use it for a bit as normal, put it in my pocket and when I take it out again, it has switched itself off. I have tried a soft reset (Home and Power button together) and this hasn't solved the problem. Warranty ran out last week! Would a factory restore solve this perhaps?

Random iOS device shut down is a very common issue, this issue will be resolved in iOS 7.1 (which will be released by MID March'14). But restoring your iPhone will help. Check how to do it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
    Cheers!

  • My iphone 4s shuts itself off for no reason

HI ive recently bought an iphone 4s, which has started switching itself off for no reason, the battery is fine and im shutting down all open apps ( a common battery drain - ive seen people complaining about the lack of battery whilst unaware that all their apps are still running).
    Any ideas anyone?
    cheers
    dave

Start with the basics. Try to Reset your device.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off that shows up first).

  • Iphone 5 shutting down constantly

    Hello all,
I have been an ifruit faithful for the last 5 years. But lately, I have been getting really frustrated with my iphone 5. There were times in the past where I'd have about 10-18% left and the phone would shut down. Those were so few that I never paid them any mind. But after I updated to 7.0.3 thinking it could only help, I was wrong. Below I present you a few senarios:
    1. iphone at 50%, I start a little jogging while listening to mp3s and running an app called MapMyRun to track my mileage. I barely made it to one mile, the phone dies. I tried to turn it back on and it shows me the battery symbol. L:ater when I got home and tried again, it turned on showing 45%.
    2. I'm using a nav app called Waze, iphone 5 at 57%, suddenly 10 mins into it, shuts down. Only turned back on about 15 mins later after several attempts. As soon as I start the app again, boom, shuts off.
    3. iphone at 24%, I'm texting via an app called TextNow and once again, dead.
    4. ifruit device at 20%, I go to the app store to download a game and you guessed it... shut down.
Considering this has happened with so many different apps, in so many different situations, it's clearly this BS freaking buggy iOS 7.0.3 update and it's ******* me off like ........ing crazy. Did Steve Jobs take the quality control department with him??
    Apple what gives?
Now I have people with android phones (at work) laughing at me about low quality and reliability, and the sad truth is, they are right, since their galaxies and nexus' dont consistently shut off on them.
Does anyone know IF and WHEN a fix will come and what else that fix may BREAK in the process???

My iphone 5 is dead. After updating iOS to 8.2 battery consumption was too high. I had no issues till last night. Phone was off because of battery low. I have kept the phone on charge for almost 8 hours now. Tried with socket and later to laptop. No issues with cable. Tried almost all tricks of holding lock and home button for a min and also tried toggling silent button. No luck.

  • Iphone 4s turns/shuts down completely for no known reason, why?

my new iphone 4s shut down completely...and only holding the home button and on/off button reboots the phone.  but what causes it to automatically shut down to the point where itunes does not recognize the phone?

Ok, well thanks for confirming this.
    I have two other questions...
I found this : '' If you're getting the unit fixed by Apple, be aware that you must have the original HD installed. If it's a third-party SSD or hybrid, Apple will tack $950 to the bill; if you don't have the original drive anymore, Apple will return your laptop unrepaired. ''
    Is that true ? Because I actually have a hybrid HD and don't have the original...nor 950 $ ...
    I found this information on : http://logicboardmac.blogspot.ca
Finally, I also found information about a flat rate repair option ?
    http://nwsinglespeed.hubpages.com/hub/Do-You-Know-About-Apples-Flat-Rate-Repair- Pricing
Anyone knows anything about this ? Woud this apply to my macbook pro ?

Today I was shopping and I went to check the time on my Iphone but it had shut itself off for no reason and now it won't turn back on. What should I do?

It could have powered off. Try holding the sleep button down for a few seconds until the apple logo appears to restart it

  • IPhone 3G shutting down with no reason after upgrading to OS 3.0

After updating to OS 3.0, my iPhone started to shut down regularly with no reason. Once it is off, I cannot restart the device using neither the sleep button nor both sleep and home buttons. It get started only after plugging the device to either electricity or the computer. I don't know if anyone else is facing with the same problem and if Apple is aware of the problem and provide a resolution in 3.1 update. Please help me on this if you have a solution..

Please try hard-restore by restoring from DFU Mode:
    Steps:
    1) Turn off iPhone
    2) Turn on and see the Apple Boot Logo
    3) while on the boot logo, press sleep/wake and home button at the same time for 10 seconds.
    4) quickly release only the sleep/wake. (Do not let go of home button)
    5) iTunes should recognize your iphone as a restore mode.
    6) Restore your iPhone.
    7) After restoring, do not recover from backup, set it as a new iPhone.
See if the problem occurs, Hope this solved the problem!

Hi everyone... Last Wednesday my iPhone 4 shut down automatically... I had battery. It took about a half an hour to reboot it. I called AT&T and they reset the network... didn't work. I did a hard shut down and didn't work. Now today, every call I had was dropped. So of course this morning when I woke up at like 8:30 am by 10:30 am my battery went from 100% to 35%. ***. Can someone help me???

Are you still running iOS 7 bet?. If so go to the private developer section for help. We cannot help you here with beta software.

I would instead say you have a problem since nearly all IPs work as advertised.  IF you do have a bad phone, take it into an Apple store and get a replacement.  Hope you didn't jailbreak your phone though as Apple probably will tell you, you broke it, you fix it.

  • Im trying to erase all the data on my iPhone, it has been on the shutting down screen for about 10 minutes will it ever cut back on

After I clicked erase all data on my iPhone 4S it has been on the shutting down screen for over 10 minutes.. Will it ever cut back on?

Sounds like we have a similar problem.  Four days ago I was playing music through a wireless Bose speaker via bluetooth and everything was fine.  Then I was texting while listening and got 2 texts about the same time as I was typing one and my phone went black.  I pushed the home button and it worked, went into my texts and all were there.  However ever since then the time isn't right, so it can't keep time no matter what I do.  The bluetooth works only at times, the wifi keeps jumping on and off, sometimes my data won't work and the other day I couldn't even turn it off, so had to wait until it died.  The battery life display at that moment wasn't correct either.  Took to Verizon, they couldn't help.  Suggested a factory reset, which I did last night and still the same issues!  One day I couldn't even text my husband on his iPhone.  Just wouldn't work at all.  Did everything suggest and still not good.  Seems like after stalking these pages today a lot of people are having this problem in Dec/Jan and of course also I'm 3 weeks out of my 1 year warranty and so were many others, by days.  Very strange, and all on the 5C.  What did you do?  Is it working now?

  • Hey, constantly since I installed the iOS 7.1 upgrade, my iPhone has been constantly shutting down and I think it's really frustrating and I whant to know how I can stop my iPhone from shutting down so I can downgrade to iOS 7.0.4?

Hey, constantly since I installed the iOS 7.1 upgrade, my iPhone has been constantly shutting down and I think it's really frustrating and I whant to know how I can stop my iPhone from shutting down so I can downgrade to iOS 7.0.4?

7.1.1 is certainly compatible with the iPhone 4. Just try a reset first.
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • Iphone 3gs shuts down & reboots on its own.

The 2 yr old iphone 3gs shuts down on its own and the silver apple icon pops up ~ the phone boots itself up. This has been happening more frequently, since Dec 2010. I could be on the internet, or using any app and it does this. A couple times I had to simutaneously hold down the power and home buttons to turn on the phone, and, or, unfreeze the phone. I always charge my phone, and regularly sync it with the latest upgrade(s). What is going on?

I had this, but I have now rectified the issue. It's an app?
I de-selected all my apps and just left the standard ones on.
I did a full restore from backup but did not sync any apps.
Problem solved, no more dropped calls. No more apple logo for no reason.
I am slowly re-adding my apps, 1 or 2 at a time, I have over 150 so it may take a while but so far I have reloaded about 10 of my most used ones and still everything fine. I will find the one that caused the problem eventually!!
Happy bunny again though, as I have a phone that can actually make a call for more than 5 minutes!!

  • My iphone 5s shut down and it shows to connect to itunes

my iphone 5s shut down and it shows to connect to itunes

Do not under any circumstances download the program Dadasmithywinkle has recommended! It is a jailbreaking tool. Jailbreaking your iPhone voids its warranty and removes all the security.
It sounds like your iPhone is in recovery mode for some reason. What happens if you try to connect it to your computer with iTunes?
