Iphone 4 sound is not working in apps

My iphone 4 sound is only working in my music app and my videos and my ringtone but not on any apps such as snapchat,facebook,youtube,instagram, and more. what should i do?

Standard user troubleshooting as outlined in the manual are restart, reset, restore, restore as new. Start with a simple power off, and back on. Any change?

Imy iPhone sounds are not working. Any help please

I have an iPhone 4s. I Powered it offhand when I opened it again all the sounds like the keyboard sounds and the sound u here when u unlock the phone. Even the music in games are not working. However, when I listen to music or watch videos on YouTube there are no problems. Any help please??

All the contacts sync configuration has been done, first I configured the iTunes to sync with outlook but nothing happen, then change to Gmail but same.
My contacts on my iPhone, no contacts in outlook.

I just bought my iphone 3g today. Everything seems to be working well. No crashes. Everything synced well also.
But for some reason the sound seems to be not working. From the sounds setting, I turned off both vibrates and even put the volume to the fullest. Everything else is set ON. I tried playing music but that won't work either. I turned it on and off and that won't work either. Is there a secret button that I'm totally ignoring? I'm going to go in tomorrow to see whats up but I'm hoping to fix the problem tonight if I can. I will appreciate any help I can get.

It might sound silly, but I had this happen on my 1st gen iPhone a few months ago. It was as if the thing was totally muted, I couldn't play any music or hear anyone on a phone call. I really thought my phone was broken. I talked to an apple rep and they asked me to plug my headphones in, then remove them. lol That fixed the problem. For some reason, the phone thought the headphones were still plugged in and it was routing all audio to the headphone jack instead of the speaker/earpiece. Plugging the headphones in, then removing them told the phone they weren't plugged in anymore and it worked fine after that.
Hopefully your problem is as simple as that.

It is not the switch on the side or any silent settings. My Iphone 4 alerts are just not working I have everything turned up as loud as it will go and nothing works! Help please!

To be honest these are the solutions that may or may not work.
First thing I would try is rebooting the phone by holding the sleep/wake button and home button for 15 seconds until you see the white apple logo.
If that doesn't work I would restore from backup. If that doesn't work I would restore as new. If all else fails take it to your closest apple store they may replace the phone for a working one..

TS3274 Sound is not working

Sound is not working in apps or keyboard clicks even though they are on in settings.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. My Pokerist app sound does not work, only with headphones....can anyone help me? Thank you

My Pokerist app sound does not work. It will only work if I have head phones on. All other sound works, songs, video etc. I deleted the app, then installed again still no sound. It is not the app because I also have a IPhone and the sound works on Pokerist. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

Check out this link - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085. There have been instances where settings have accidentally changed. Double click on the Home button, swipe all the way to the right to reveal the leftmost icon and alternate settings if necessary.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430 It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on General
3. Tap on Reset
4. Tap on Reset All Settings
What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

When my iphone 4 is not plugged in to headphones the sound does not work, and if I try to adjust the sound with the plus and minus buttons in the side it comes up like normal saying "Ringer" but then there is no bar underneath it. Sometimes the sound will work for a couple of minutes. However, there is definitely no problem with the speaker as the alarm always works perfectly fine.
I have tried restoring it, this did not help.

No. What he should be doing is syncing his contacts to an app on his computer or cloud service, then sync them back to the phone (without restoring the backup).
Never rely on the backup for contacts. The contact info stored there may be incomplete and is only meant to maintain the recent calls and favorites lists.

Sighhhh, wasted so much time yesterday and today going around Sony centre and then carphone warehouse. They told me to come back after Easter.
I came home, banged the phone against the wall and it worked.
Turned out that mic was working on loud speaker and when using headphones so I thought that the secondary mic is working and the main one (placed with the speakers) isn't. So I banged that part against the wall slightly (in plastic case to prevent scratches) then put the phone underwater, waited for it to dry and now it's working. Idk how well and if it's of perfect quality again but people can hear me well.

Check the mute switch along the side, near the external volume controls.

Sometimes I start to use the music app and then part way though a track it stops. I try to re-start it with no joy. I'm also finding the touch screen is less responsive. Can any help me fix the issue or will I need to take it into the store?

Removing the SIM has no affect on the power of the phone. It is just the part that facilitates connecting to your carrier. Try holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo on the screen and then release the buttons. The phone should reboot. You may need to hold the buttons together for 15-30 seconds.

Sound not working for apps

The sound is not working for game apps, and possibly other apps. Sound effects work. Side switch is not on mute. Nothing, I repeat NOTHING, is muted. YouTube videos work. System sounds work. Games that are supposed to have sounds no longer have sounds.
I also cannot update the iOS system. It says that there is no internet connection but the internet works fine for everything else. I am posting this from the device. Resetting and restarting have not worked. Also, the keyboard seems to be having minor problems as well, such as capitalizing, autocorrect, etc, which used to work but now doesn't.
I have not used the iPad in over a year because of forgotten passcode, and now it has a bajillion problems!

You said that you "reset" and that means different things to different people so we could use some clarification on that.
For now, I would start with this. If you have already done this, please remember that is where the clarification is so important. Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. The iPad will start up on its own when you do this. No data is lost. It all settings have to be entered again.
IF you changed your Apple ID, go to settings>ITunes & App Store>Apple ID. Sign out in there and sign in with the new ID. This is worthwhile reading and should help.
