Iphone 4 Sprint contacts folder.

Today my personal contacts are not displayed in the Contacts folder. When I send a text or email the first letters search through the normal contacts list. Therefore, I have not lost the contact list but it is not displayed in the folder.

i had the same issue!
what i did i did a hard rebootby  holding down the home button and power button at the same time and then u will see the apple logo
if you do, do this it will take longer then usual to boot up and it should fix your issue. thats how i fixed mine
last choice is to restore

  • Importing a contact folder from external hard drive onto new iphone

It is kind of a long story...my mom was updating iphone on computer when computer crashed. iphone crashed. had friend move all info from crashed computer onto external hard drive. got new iphone.
so, she no longer has a computer and we have to share mine. she has her own itunes on an external drive and i have my own itunes on another hard drive. i got almost everything except the contacts moved back on her phone. i see the folder and contacts in a 'contact' folder on the external hard drive, but how do I move that to the new iphone without it being in outlook/google/yahoo. i tried 'adding folder' to the library containing the contacts, but that didn't work.
    any suggestions? thanks!!!

thanks for the advise about the two users. so, i did that. but, now cannot seem to import the contact folder into the Address Book. the files in the 'contact'-hard drive are called CONTACT files (.contact). i don't know what that means. can i open those in the address book?

  • How can I set up a second Contacts folder on my IPhone

I have an Iphone and a Palm Pilot.  I want to stop carring the Palm, and have the contacts there put on the IPhone.
I came upon Plaxo, which would allow me to sync from desktops and laptops to the net, as well as syncing with my IPhone.
However, it appears that Plaxo will sync with the IPhone Contact folder, then wipe out the subset of numbers I keep there.  I want to keep the contacts separate - especially because of the ringer tone controls.
Is there a way to create a second contact folder that I can sync with Plaxo, which will keep separate the current IPhone contacts in my existing Contacts folder?
My existing contacts folder was created, in a way I which I knew, when I got the phone.  It is a 3G, using 4.2.1 (8C148)..

If I can not set up a second Contacts folder, does anybody have an alternative way of having contact information that a person could see the information from an Outlook Format available for viewing?

  • How to I delete all contact on my iPhone at once. These are contacts ABOVE the contact folder that says From My Mac. I do not want to erase all of the other settings and content from my iPhone -- just the contacts.

How to I delete all contact on my iPhone at once? These are contacts ABOVE the contact folder that says, "From My Mac."
Someone said create a new empty folder on the computer and sync to that -- didn't work .
Another person said, "Reset information in settings to restore to the default." That would erase ALL of the conetent I have on the phone and I do not want to erase all of the other settings and content from my iPhone -- just the contacts.
There has to be a better way than gong through and deleting one-by-one.

Go into Settings...Mail, Calendar and Contacts and siwtch off the Contacts section from the account in question.
The phone should ask you if you want to keep or erase the contacts stored on you phone.
However, if they aren't synched to anything and only exist on your iPhone, you'll have to delete them all one by one

POP: yahoo, aol, comcast/time warnder/road runner
Imap: google, hotmail, and more including icloud.
If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically  Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.
To find out more about what happens to you, search on Google "difference between pop and imap"

  • 'Contacts' folder with sub folder cannot be removed after synching via iTunes

'Contacts' folder with sub folder cannot be removed after synching via iTunes
I am trying to remove a 'Contacts' subfolder
    ie Contacts < default folder
    - Contacts Mysubfolder 1 < Trying to remove this subfolder folder
via my microsoft outlook onto my iPhone.
Despite not having 'Contacts Mysubfolder 1' on my PC's outlook after deleting it, it does not delete the subfolder in my iPhone.
I even restored my iPhone settings to the original via iTunes.
I also replaced my physical iPhone but still synching with my original Apple ID + iTunes on the same desktop.
All I did was after replacement of my iP, i setup my microsoft Exchange account, and there it was, the Contacts subfolder which is no longer around, appears on my iPhone contacts folder list.
My outlook is on Microsoft exchange and I am on iP 3Gs
    Please help
    Thank you

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you are running 64-bit Windows and the above steps haven't helped try installing the version of iTunes that can be downloaded from this support document. iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
If you still have no luck try reinstalling iTunes 12.0, links in the user tip.

  • How can I synch ONLY the default 'contacts' folder in Outlook 2003?

I am using Outlook 2003 SP3. In my 'contacts' menu I have 3 folders: 'Contacts', 'iPhone' and 'Old.' I created 'iPhone' and 'Old' folders and 'Contacts' was the default folder. When I synch my 3G iPhone with Outlook I want to synch ONLY the default 'contacts' folder. But I can't seem to do this. My options are to synch all folders or a selection of non-default folders (i.e., anything but 'Contacts.')
Does this make sense? I don't want to synch anything in the 'old' folder to my iphone. But I also don't want to move all of my current contacts to a special folder just so I can synch only these items.
So when I synch my iPhone I want it to limit the synching to only the default 'contacts' folder.
Is there a way to do this?

Open one of the folders that keeps changing. Set it to the view mode you prefer. Press Command-J (Show View Options in View menu).
At the top of the View Options screen is an item which allows one to set "Always open in xxx view". Chekmark that.
Repeat for each folder you want.
This is a per-folder setting. Note that the View Options screen is 'live" - you can leave it open, and as you open successive folders it will display the settings for each in turn.

  • How to sync iPhone 4 contacts to Mac address book

    Hello!
I can sync all my contacts from the Mac address book on my MacBook Pro to my iPhone 4. However, why does it not sync the iPhone contacts to the Mac address book? Should it not be like a two way sync? I was looking at the syncing options but it does give that option. I just want to make sure that I have the same contacts on my iPhone and Mac. I do understand that MobileMe does that. But till I can afford to have MobileMe, maybe there is another solution?
    Anybody... help!

I had a major drama doing this last night, have managed to restore my Address Book file with a backup after I mistakenly wiped all the contacts I had created on my iPhone. Yikes! I suggest when you sync your iPhone leave it plugged in after the sync until you check that the contacts are all where they should be. That way, the most recent backup that is done automatically when you plug in the iPhone will still have all your iPhone contacts should something go amiss and they can be restored. Also export your computer's Address Book (File>Export in Address Book) which should land in your Documents folder.
To get all my iPhone's contacts back into my Mac's Address Book, I created a group in my Mac Address Book called 'iPhones contacts'. When I synced the iPhone with my Mac, (Info tab>Sync Address Book Contacts in iTunes), I checked the box that says 'Add contacts created outside of groups on this iPhone to...' and checked the new 'iPhone contacts' group and when I synced, all the new contacts on the iPhone landed in my Mac's Address Book. Phew. Heartstopper!

  • If I delete my iCloud account, will my original Sprint contacts delete also?

I have 100's of contacts in my iPhone from my Sprint account.
When iCloud happened, additional contacts came into my iPhone from my old Mac Mail address book, which Apple did it without asking.
Now I have a lot of duplicate contacts - many of which have different name configurations.
    So, question:
If I delete my iCloud account (I'm switching to Gmail), will ALL the contacts be deleted as well, even the ones I had from my Sprint account?
Because when I choose "turn off contacts" in my iCloud settings on my iPhone, ALL of the contacts disappeared, including the Sprint contacts.  And I need these for making "phone calls", like the old days.
IF deleting iCloud account deletes ALL my contacts, then I have another question:  Can I export my contacts from my iPhone 4 and then RE-import them when I switch to Gmail?

    Moving to Gmail.  I'm done

  • My outlook 2010 Contact Groups are not visible in iTunes; only syncs main Outlook Contact Folder, others not synching

I have an iPhone (running the latest device software) and have Outlook 2010 for PC on my desktop.  I have several Outlook 2010 Contact Folders/Groups but when I try to sync with my iPhone I only have the option to sync all of my contacts.
When I sync this -- the only Outlook folder/group that is synced is my main 'Contacts' folder/group.  All the rest of my folders/groups are not being transferred to my iPhone.  I've had this issue for a few months now -- and though I like the iPhone, my old Blackberry nev er presented this problem when it came to the simple base function of syncing.  Appreciate your help -- as I am out of answers.  Thanks.

  • How to set a default iCloud contact folder?

If I have different iCloud contact folders, how can I choose a default one for creating new contacts on my iOS device? There's no option for that... All new contacts I create on my iPhone or iPad are placed in "all contacts" folder. I would like to choose one of my iCloud folders. This is so basic... There should be a solution!

OMG! Apple is the biggest company on earth and they didn't think about such a basic feature for their iCloud... Now I begin to understand why investors are loosing faith and the share price is falling. Thanks anyway for your answer!

  • Contacts "selected groups" doesn't list main contacts folder

When I select "Selected Groups" however, I can only select sub folders, not the main folder...
So... How do I get my main contacts folder to sync with my iPhone?
    Thanks!

  • 1 PC, 2 iphones, 2 contact folders. How to synchronise?

My wife and I both have an iphone. I created 2 separate contact folders in contacts but when I try to sync my iphone, it does not give me the choice to sync between my folder and hers? Itunes only shows me ALL Contacts and then then get all mixed in my phone. How do I only get to sync MY contact folder?

To transfer the data and settings from one to the other, back up your iPhone 4 and restore your iPhone 5 from this backup (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109).  (You won't be able to restore your iPhone 4 from the backup of your iPhone 5 as you can't restore to a backup made on a device running a higher version or iOS; and the iPhone 4 cannot be updated to iOS 6.1.4.
To syncing them with the same iCloud account, go to Settings>iCloud on your two phones and sign in with the same Apple ID, then turn on the data you want to sync.  Then sign into the same iCloud account on your computer, if it meets the minimum system requirements to set up iCloud as outlined here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/.

I want to erase all contact on the iphone and put some new one professional. I dont want these new one sync with gmail anymore but sync with itune who is on my professional computer and is now empty.
How to process step by step pleaaaaase. already 3 weeks that Im looking for an answer and no mac store in my current country.
    Thanks a lot in advance

    Great. Thank you.
Now that I made that mistake by adding them to the "On My iPhone" folder, are you aware of a way there a way to import them to Gmail contacts? I would like to do this as a one time thing so I don't have to manually re-enter each contact.
Ideally, I would import all to Gmail, delete all contacts off iPhone, then re-sync Gmail with iPhone so all contacts transfer to the Exchange account.

  • How can I delete my contacts folder in icloud?

How can I delete my contacts folder in icloud so I can start over again?

Got the answer from some other posts - thanks.  But now that I have resynced, and if I am backing up to my Mac not the icloud how am I keeping the contacts in icloud current with my Mac and iPhone and Ipad?  As soon as I turn contacts to sync on my phone it is turned off in iTunes.  Still on Snow Leopard and I think that might be part of the syncing problem
