IPhone 4 suddenly has no wireless connection

The WiFi on my iPhone 4 is suddenly “Unable to join network.” The router (AirPort Extreme) is working fine; both the iMac and my husband’s iPhone 5 have strong wireless connections. I tried rebooting and re-setting the network settings, to no avail. What happened to my phone's wireless, and how can I get it back?

Well, I tried again to reset the network settings, via Setings>General>Reset>Network Settings. The phone's wireless still would not connect to the main network, but somehow it accepted the Guest Network. Go figure! Thankfully, it's working now.

    Hey there Galileo,
It sounds like your iPhone screen is solid white and you cannot do anything with it. Take a look at these steps from the following article about that kind of issue:
Get help with the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you see a solid color screen (black, white or blue)
Plug in your device to a power source. If you see the low-battery screen when you plug in, let your device charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad) before using it.
Reset your device while it's plugged in.
If resetting doesn’t fix the issue, restore your device.
If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • My iPhone 5s suddenly has boot loop and shows blue screen.

My iPhone 5s suddenly has boot loop and shows blue screen. I tried to restore it with iTunes but it says that I have to enter my password on my phone first, which I can't technically do. What to do?
Also, I've read that I could get a replacement phone from apple but it was bought for me in CA, and I'm in the Philippines. Can I get a replacement still?

  • HT5569 iPad 2 (ios 7) has been working perfectly fine, but suddenly has ceased to connect to home wifi

My iPad 2 (ios 7) has been working perfectly fine for years. All of a sudden it's stopped connecting to my home wifi. The password is not recognised, even though it is the right password. I've tired the reboots and forget network etc. The renew lease option is not there, maybe because I reset all network settings. It's just puzzling. I haven't changed anything; my HP laptop is fine. Why would my ipad suddenly do this? is it just an ios7 glitch that apple haven't addressed yet?

If you are having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPad. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
First, test your iPad on some other WiFi networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
If it works well there then the problem is probably with your network. Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
If your iPad does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings to see if that corrects the problem. If not, contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPad is bad.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

Your desktop is connected to the router.
Open the Internet browser and in the address bar type 192.168.1.1. Log in to the router setup page.
Go to the wireless tab. Check the wireless network name. Change the channel to 11 and make sure that the SSID broadcast is enabled.
Go to the wireless security sub tab and check the wireless security settings.
Go to Advanced wireless settings. Change the beacon Interval to 75, RTS threshold to 2307, Fragmentation threshold to 2306.
Try to connect to the wireless network and see if that works.
Thanks, but still no luck. Ive tried in both Windows 7 and XP. In W7 i get the "Windows was unable to connect" message. In XP nothing happens it just doesnt connetc. Ive checked the security settings and they are all rigth. Is my router malfunctioning?

  • IPhone 4 suddenly has vertical lines

I was using my iPhone while charging and after awhile, the device became hot and this vertical lines appear.
I locked and unlocked my device and it becomes usable for awhile.
The screen started shaking madly and the vertical lines reapeared. Then this whole process keeps repeating and I can only use my phone for awhile by locking it and unlocking all the time!
By the way I dropped it once a long time ago... Can anyone please tell me if this is software issue or hardware issue as I do not want to waste my money to go to Apple to repair... Thanks in advance!

    Hello there, nick37332001.
It can be hard to determine the cause of behavior like this, but I recommend trying these troubleshooting steps if you see vertical lines on your iPhone display. First, restart your iPhone:
    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
You can find the full article with these steps here:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the lines are still there after you restart the iPhone, I recommend that you back up your data and restore the iOS software next:

  • IPad2 has slower wireless connection than laptop (netgear router)

I have done numerous speed tests that show my laptop at 5meg and ipad2 always below 1meg. All the similar posts i have read suggest turning off qos on the router but mine doesnt even have that option. Its a netgear 150 and brand new. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me mad!! Thanks

Have you powered off everything and power up again?  Power off printer and router.  Power on router and wait 2 mins.  Power up printer and see if it connects to your SSID.

  • HT204409 a problem with my iphone 4s of seeing wireless connection

my personal iphone can't see the wireless connection from the pc as configuration of the pc has been reset , i try to reset configuration setting of apple iphone and it still not see the wireless connectoin , i wan't quickly soluation to this problem, plz

    Try resetting the iPhone,
Reset your iPhone by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPhone will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.
Good luck and do report back.

  • BTHomeHub - iPhone wireless connection issue

I recently downloaded Documents to Go, and discovered that the desktop sync application cannot sync with my iPhone. This seems to be caused by settings on my BTHomeHub wireless router - can anyone suggest what the problem is?
    I have checked the following:
1 - the Remote app cannot connect to ITunes either, on my Mac or on my PC (With Bonjour recently installed)
    2 - I've tried restoring and reinstalling applications etc;
3 - Remote app works if i simply use my Mac to create a network - suggests isolated to the Homehub
4 - I've tried the troubleshooting tips on the Dataviz site - eg, confirmed mac and iPhone are on same network.
    Thanks

This appears to be a basic flaw of the iPhone, most likely purposely created by Apple to discourage file sharing between iPhone/iPod users, and continue to keep everyone coming to the iTunes store.
As a long-time user of Windows smartphones and PDAs, it's ridiculous how much Apple forces you to go through to get the simplest file-sharing tasks. I'm a recent purchaser of an iPhone, which I love for the things it does great, but file-sharing isn't one of them.
I have downloaded numerous apps from the Itunes app store which sound great (Documents2Go, mbPointer, eWallet, iPresenter, etc.)...but they either don't work (because they can't simultaneously pair the iPhone and your laptop on the same wireless connection, or do so randomly and inconsistently with absurdly complex chains of steps required).
Apple should be ashamed of themselves for frustrating the heck out of its iPhone users. $300 and $60/month is a lot to pay for torture. Yeah, I love certain iPhone functions...but wireless connections and file sharing totally stink.

  • WRT330N Dropping Wireless Connections

I have a WRT330N which I have been using for a while with a couple of wired connections and 3 wireless connections.
It has been working great for months, but has suddenly started dropping wireless connections.  I basically haven't touch the thing since I set it up and it has worked flawlessly.
Any idea why it would suddenly start behaving this way?  Nothing else about the environment has changed either.
    Could it be dying?
BTW, it will drop connections with a system literally sitting right next to it.. so distance isn't an issue.

Try to upgrade the firmware of the router .
And also do not use any electronic devices in the range of router .

  • Printer 'offline' when actually not on wireless connection laptop

I have an Officejet Pro L7590, connected via a wired connection to my Linksys router.
My laptop runs Windows 7 32-bit Home Premium and is wireless connected to my router.
When I double-click the printer in 'Devices and Printers'. It shows 'printer offline'
When I print a document it goes to the queue, but doesn't printer.
I have already tried the following:
    . re-install the printer
. install the printer as local printer, with as port the IP address of the printer
. install the printer as networkprinter
. run the Diagnostic tools provided by HP
    But still the same problem.
When I connect my laptop via a wired connection to my router (without changing anything to me printer settings) the printer is 'online' and works fine.
How can I make the printer work when my laptop has a wireless connection?

    Hi there,
Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.
    Best of Luck!

  • Wireless Connection after 10.4.8 Update

I want to try and update again to 10.4.8. Has the wireless connection issue been resolved yet? The problem I was having before was when my mac went into sleep mode or I would reboot the wireless connection would be dropped. I tried just about everything I found on this board, but nothing worked. I had to archive and restore my mac back to 10.4.4. Is it safe to update, if not is there a fix for after I update?
    Any help would be great!.

If I had an IntelMac I'd wait, or certainly not go past 10.4.7, and at that I'd surely use the bigger Combo Updates, not any of the Deltas.
Yet if I did try 10.4.8... it'd be installed on a seperate FW drive for testing... without messing with the working install.
All that being said... I still am at 10.3.9 or less on all my important work machines... only have Tiger on 2 machines to help sort out/test all the 10.4 problems!
