Iphone 4 sync lost foto's and other data
Hello
In oktober last year my old iphone 4 needed repairs so I made a backup before I brought it to the store.
The iphone didn´t get repaired but In received a complete new one.
I started using my new ihpone normally for the next 4 months. Tonight (9 march 2012) I connected my new ihpone for the first time to Itunes to get some music back on my iphone.
Itunes started to syn and it restored the last backup i made 4 months ago. This resulted in the fact that I now lost all my new contacts from the last 4 months, but more importantly I lost pictures, movies, etc.
Is there any way to retreive the foto´s and stuff or undo the sync? I would really like my foto's and stuff back that itunes deleted.

No, the personell at the mobile store (not apple) were not very good.
He didn't even know I had received a brand new phone untill I told him so. He told me only some hardware was renewed.
Anyways, just very angry at the moment. I know I failed with using Itunes. But I truly believe that itunes should always ask you to backup before doing such actions.
i noticed there are a lot of people on different forums with similar problems. My theory is that when many people experience similar problems like this then Apple should look into the mirror and ask themselves if they did anything wrong.
I never asked my old backup to be restored on my new phone. Itunes just went and did it and deleted my content in the process. Just have to live with it now.

ShelleyHow did you "try" to transfer this data? The only way to restore App data is by restoring from a backup that contains the App data, then syncing the Apps back to the phone. Emails are not included in any iPhone backup, only account settings.

Cannot sync iPod with iTunes and "Other" data increasing
So here is my issue:
Since I updated my iPod to v1.2.3 (or whatever the most recent one is) my iTunes will give me an error message when I try to drag+drop files from my PC library to my iPod (error message 48). Now when this happens I'll get the error message but iTunes will keep transferring the files I wanted to add to my iPod, BUT instead of them showing up in either Music or Movies the tranferred data just adds to the "Other" section. And I don't know how to view/delete "Other" files.
Is the only answer to restore my iPod? And if I do this, won't I just have the same issue when my iPod is re-updated to the most recent version again?If the iPod database gets corrupted, it will add files to "Other" instead of where they really belong.
Restoring the iPod will erase this database and recreate it.

No, it shouldn't. This is why you Restore the iPod. It erases the corrupt database. -

well first make sure that when you click on the name of your iphone on the left hand side of itunes that you go to the app and music tab and check mark the sync apps and sync music. then try clicking apply in the bottom right hand corner. then if not try doing it again after going to prefrences in the top menu and going to devices tab and click reset sync history if that doesnt work with music try and drop and drag to the name of your iphone, lastly if that doesnt work you can try restoring from a backup from before you updated. it will keep the new software but put everything that was on your phone when you created the backup back onto your phone.

By synching our computer and tablet together with our new iphone, we lost all our critical calendar data. How do we get it back? The help info, HT4901, was the closest info from the Help pages but it assumed we were already on icloud and had simply disconnected our calendar from icloud. Actually, we were simply trying to synch our devices by signing up with icloud for the first time, so it seems our calendar never had a chance to get uploaded. In any case, how do you reconnect / re-access a calendar on icloud?
If your calendar does not appear on icloud.com it never uploaded to iCloud. If it is no longer on your computer you would have to restore it from a backup source such as Time Machine to restore it.

if you "reset all content and settings" your phone will go back to its out of box factory settings

You can change the account shortname to whatever you wish to use.
As you can see from my example above. Once you click on the Create User button a new account will be created.
She will need to get her own Apple ID setup so when she starts with iTunes she can open her own iTunes account unless you both want to share the use of the same Apple ID. This can create a bit of confusion if you have your own iPads or iPhones or iPods. As you have discovered it's pretty much one iDevice with one Apple ID.
As for the iTunes library that becomes a more complicated issue. -
I have 2 iphones syncing on one computer and on the same apple ID.
Before i updatad my Itunes to the last available update and my Iphones to 5.01
i had no problem draging jpg. and mp3 files into my iphones DCIM folder (the picture folder that opens
when conecting to Itunes). Since my updates Itune wont let me drag and drop any files' even pictures that
were taken with my Iphone on 4.3.3.
Please help as we have no itunes music in Israel, only apps and i cant copy any of my old music from my computer
to my iphones.
If it helps, i am using a pc with 32 bit windows 7.
Other from the obove Itunes works fine and does sync pictures from my computer to my Iphone from "my pictures" folder.

I already took a chance deleting one of the iPhones, hoping if I deleted the wrong one, I can still reauthorize it (all with the same Apple ID acct, so not subject to 90-day waiting period, right?) The iTunes database just updated itself, and it says I have 4 "devices" "in the Cloud", but 5 "computers" associated w my account. How can I find out what computers are associated? Isn't there a list I can see? I dont have a clue what computers they might be. If I use the "Deauthorize All" option, is it a pain to add them all back in. I assume I would have to log in from each computer to reauthorize each one. Would I have to be running the newest OS or version of iTunes to reauthorize? I think I have a PowerBook G4 Titanium with an older OS and iTunes. I'd like to keep that authorized, if possible.

Recent software upgrades has changed the way my iPhone syncs with my macbook and items entered on my iPhone are no longer uploaded to my macbook. I've tried to fix it and seem to have made things worse, my iPhone now has a long list of calanders that I don't want and can't delete and nothing is uploading to my macbook.
You need to look at Mac's iTunes, check > System Preferences > iCloud.
If you use iCloud for Calendar, Contacts then turn off those items in iTunes, Info tab with your iPhone connected and selected. -

If the basics from the User Guide have all been tried (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new) and you still have problems, then you've done all the troubleshooting you can do. You'll need to bring your phone into Apple or an authorized service provider in your area.

Our exchange server crashed and we lost all contact and calendar data. We found an app to get the contacts off of people's phone to import but can't find the same for calendar. How do I get my calendar info off my phone and in to new exchange server?
You'd have to think through this, but it seems like if you are using Outlook, and the items vanished from the Outlook client as well as the server,that you could re-populate Outlook using iTunes.

This stuff was originally used by a PollingChannel to directly monitor subscribe/unsubscribe commands issued by higher-level components in order to drive a count of active subscriptions, and from that, whether or not the channel needed to issue poll requests.
However, DataService, and then Consumer ended up managing this directly because they had better insight into when they considered themselves subscribed and they notify the PollingChannel of their state changes directly (mx_internally). When this was added, the underlying poll-sync responder machinery didn't go away, and it generally doesn't cause problems except in the case of a client disconnect without a preceding explicit unsubscribe. In this case the higher level component moves to an unsubscribed state when it disconnects (and lets the PollingChannel know) but because no unsubscribe command is sent by a poll-sync responder, the extra count it added never decrements and the channel continues to poll incorrectly.
