Was this what S. Jobs was having problems with during his keynote. 3gs connected no problem and was loading a page while the iphone4 connected to wifi but was not able to load anything in safari?
Can you start from scratch like reset your router? Try connecting to a different router like at starbucks or other free wifi spots. Set your router to use all b/g/n. Try just using a specific frequency. If restore doesn't work and a hard reset doesn't work then you will have to wait for a tweak to see if others are having the same problem or for the next 4.0.1 update.

Have you tried a simple reset of your iPod to see if that helps? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, have you tried any of the troubleshooting mentioned in this Apple support document?

i have a linksys router bedfw11s4 version 4 and im having problems with wifi on my iphone
i can search and connect to my router but the interent is extremely slow
i have no problems with my laptop
i read some info on this board regarding changing it to static ip but im having problems figuring out how to config it
when i goto into my router setting i only see 1 DNS address

So on your IPhone you are getting connected to your Wireless Network, but the Internet is working slow, then i would suggest you to change some settings on your Router....
Once you login to the router setup page, Under Wireless ... Change the Wireless channel to 11-2.462GHz and click on Save Settings....
Then under Advacnce Wireless Settings.... Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings".....
Now check if your IPhone, how is the Internet Speed....
If still slow then i would suggest you to upgrade the firmware of your Router....
Go to website linksysbycisco.com/downloads.........insert model no of your router in serach tab......select proper version of your router........download the firmware file......save that file on desktop..
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...

Now reset your router :

HELP I have a wireless Linksys router WRT54G connected through my cable company broadband modem on a Mac. I have another computer to which I installed wireless capability because it didn't come with it. This required attching some piece of equipment to the back of the PC which enabled it to get on the internet without another cable modem. My question is this. If I get an iphone or a laptop(with built in wireless ability) will I automatically be able to go on the web because of the router on the Mac.

yes certainly... if you get any wireless device in network that would certainly connects to a wireless n/w of router...

I can't see my own linksys router

I installed a linksys router for a friend, I can connect to it with my iphone, and my laptop. He can not even see it in the list of wifi signals. He can however connect to the neighbors device but not his own. I have been working on this for several weeks now. I can pull up in the driveway and my phone connects ASAP. My laptop connects, yet he can not and he doesn't even see the router listed as a device. But he can connect to his neighbors router, so I no it's not his laptop...

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Random reset of Linksys router

Problem: Linksys router randomly resets in small business environment.
Model Number: WRK54G V2.0 (Router is part of Linksys Network Kit.)
Router Firmware: 1.00.1
Observations: Linksys router resets when Sony laptops are using the Linksys router and other routers (from neighboring small business) are on.
However,
Linksys router does not reset when Sony laptops are not using the Linksys router.
Linksys router does not reset when Sony laptops are using the Linksys router and the other routers (from neighboring small businesses) are off. This was discovered during after hours when neighboring small business were able to turned off their routers.
Solutions found on internet search: All internet search solutions found to date recommend replacing the Linksys router with another brand of wireless router. Solutions date back to March 2005.
Question 1: Does Linksys have a solution for using Sony laptops in a multi-router non-Linksys environment?
Question 2: What is happening in the Linksys router to cause it to reset?

My 1st gen iphone (16GB) is up to the same antics. Pre 2.0 all was perfect. Then then update... During calls, if you adjust the volume for either the iphone earpiece, speaker phone, or bluetooth headset (I'm using the Plantronics voyager 520, which was purchased at the apple store), the ringer volume gets adjusted as well.
Just go into the sounds option under settings, make a call, and watch in awe as you adjust your call volume and ringer volume at the same time.
I've missed calls b/c the volume resets it self to a lower (random) setting. Now I must check after every call. The best part is if you push up on your volume button while at the home screen (the ringer volume pop up appears) and note that you have it on the highest setting, go ahead and check the sound option under settings. It will be at some random lower level. Oh my phone never did this on 1.4. I do hope the engineers are reading this and release a fix ASAP. The main purpose of the iPhone is to be a phone. Missing calls due to a low ringer volume is crazy.
Oh, I've already restored, don't bother, problem was not resolved. I haven't come across any other problems with the 2.0 update.

Will Airport Express find network printers on existing network on Linksys Router

If Airport express is connected to an existing network hosted on Linksys router, will it discover the network printers already on the network?
I hope to use Airport Express to extend my network to iPhones to print and to play music.

If an AirPort Express is configured to "join" an existing wireless network, it will perform as a wireless client and not as a router. It cannot discover other network printers and share them out. Instead if you connect a printer to the Express' USB port it can share out this printer.
Also, the Express cannot extend a wireless network provided by a non-Apple router ... at least not if the connection between routers will be wireless.

IPhone stalling Linksys Cable Gateway???

I've got a Linksys Wireless Cable Gateway/Router (WCG200) set up at home, and on several occasions when I'm surfing on my iPhone, the linksys simply stalls or hangs, and I have to turn it off and back on again to let it sync back up to my ISP (Cox). The linksys stalls not only the Internet activity on my iPhone, but also my other computers in the house. But it only locks up initially when I'm actively surfing on the iPhone. It does not lock up like this when surfing via the computers. As soon as I turn it off and then on again, it syncs back up fine and works properly until the next time.
The tricky thing is, it doesn't seem to do it with any regularity. No specific website I'm surfing, no specific time of day. The only consistent thing is that it only happens when using the iPhone (but not all the time).
Any ideas?

When I read your post it immediately caught my attention because I had the same thing happen to my D-link DI624 router.
I was surfing the web one evening and all of a sudden web pages stopped loading saying it couldn't connect with the server. I noticed I still had 2 bars for my wireless connection, but nothing was working. So, I chaulked it up to the iPhone 1.1.1 quirkiness and didn't even bother to check any of the other computers running off the same wireless network that night.
The next morning I heard my wife complaining about her email not sending from her laptop. Then my middle son said he "didn't have internet" so went and reset the router. So, that explains why I lost my connection the night before!
Coincidence?

If you have enable the MAC filter on your Router, Make sure you have input the right MAC address of your Iphone under the MAC Filtering.

Please help... Linksys router and Imac help

I just switched to Mac, but I might be returning the Imac and getting a Dell or something because it's getting a little ridiculous.
My IP address on my Linksys router is not being recognized by the airport in my new Imac. It took FOREVER for me to get this to work and now it has crapped out 2 times in the last 4 days. I am about to take this new Mac back to the store and go back to a Dell.
Here is a basic description of what is happening:
When I do a diagnostic test I click on Airport and it is saying that the airport signal is fine (green dots), but it doesn't find the IP address. I select my network name that the Airport is picking up and still nothing. I can even get online by selecting a different wi-fi signal from someone that lives close to me too. It's obviously something with my Linksys router that does not work well with my Mac.
Also, even when my Mac doesn't get online, my Ps3 and 360 both still do so I know it is the computer/router that is the problem.
I try unplugging the router, modem, restarting...etc. but it just seems so wierd that it goes off like that.... It's also very annoying, because then I have to hear from my wife about that we spent $1500 on a computer that won't get online some of the time, when I can still get online on my PS3 and 360.
By the way, when I am not connected to the internet Safari will NOT let me put in the 192.168.1.1 in the address bar to get to my router settings. But I did check them from my PS3 and the "clone my MAC" thing is still enabled.
Apple's software update tells me there's no new software available for my machine, which leaves me with no idea what's causing this or how to fix it.
Any advice, solutions, or tips are greatly appreciated.
Can anyone please help me??? If this is going to be a continuous problem, I am taking the computer back and getting a new Dell or something since we mostly use the computer for the internet functions.

Let's double-check your iMac's AirPort settings ...
System Preferences > Network > AirPort

ASA 5505 Connected To Linksys Router

Hello, I have a cable modem internet connection and my cable modem is connected to an ASA 5505. The inside interface of the ASA has an IP address of 192.168.2.2 and is connected to a Linksys router's internet port which has an IP address of 192.168.2.1. The Linksys router then has a local area network of 192.168.1.0 and all my clients are on that network. Everything is working fine except in my ASA logs all the traffic shows up as the router's external address which is 192.168.2.1. I would like to see the 192.168.1.x address of the clients in the ASA firewall. I've tried making some changes to the Linksys router but that hasn't resolved it. Is there any changes I can make on the ASA to get this to work? Below is some of the config:

The Linksys doing NAT is the reason why the ASA sees all the traffic as having source address as 192.168.2.1. The only way for the ASA to see the original 192.168.1.x address is to change the Linksys to not do NAT.
One thing that I notice is that there is not a route statement in what you posted for the 192.168.1.0 network. It is not clear whether the route does exist and you did not post it or whether the route does not exist. But if it does not exist it would certainly be a reason why you lose Internet connectivity when you change the Linksys to not perform NAT. (the ASA would have no knowledge of how to forward to the network and would drop all the traffic). Try adding the route to the ASA and changing the Linksys to not perform NAT and let us know if it works.

Intel MacBook Connecting to Linksys Router

I'm getting ready to purchase a MacBook. Currently, my setup is a G4 Mac mini that is wirelessly connected to a Belkin repeater (which is repeating the signal of a Linksys router). I've heard rumblings that Linksys routers are being funny with the new Intel processors. Now, since I do have that repeater and since the repeater creates a new wireless network in addition to the weaker Linksys one in my present location, would I have any problems getting the MacBook to connect to either of the wireless networks? This sounds like a problem that will have to be solved by experience.

Hmmm...I hope it will be simple. But I don't know if the fact that I have that repeater creating an entirely new network will be to my advantage or disadvantage. I guess we'll find that out on Friday!

HELP PLEASE !!! Can't get Linksys router to work.

Okay, I am a new owner of an Alu-imac 2.4 ghz !!!!!!
Installed Leopard last night and wanted to get my internet set up and ……. IT DIDN'T WORK !!!!!!!!
The Diagnostic thing wouldn't recognize my internet.
(Info for you):
1) I have an Linksys wireless router that is right behind the computer. I have to have a router for my 360 and my PS3 across the room. So I had the cable internet modem hooked to the wireless router and then to the computer. (just like it was hooked up to my PC)
2) I tried everything I could think of to get it to work. The diagnostic show that the Ethernet had a green light, but it would not let me online at all.
3) So then I tried unplugging the modem and the router and still nothing. (It gets stuck on the page where it asks "do you use a cable modem, if so please restart it and then hit continue") And still nothing.
4) So then I tried to just run the internet straight from the cable modem to the imac, and this didn't work either….. Then for some reason like a 1/2 later the network settings brought up the IP and everything and I had internet.
5) *But I need my Linksys router to be used !!!!* Is there any advice any of you can give me !!! I can call Linksys if I need to when I get off work, but I thought maybe some of you could help me first. *I did have to call Linksys before I could get the router to work on my old PC as well*, so maybe it's something with them ????

If you have an old firmware it would be a good idea to go out to Cisco.com and see if there is any firmware updates. I have looked on the site for you and I see the latest firmware is:2.0.2.1

You can also try to reset your device to its factory settings, to reset your router please take a object that has a point and hold the reset button in on the back for "atleast" 30 seconds until the lights on the front to start flashing.
About Mac address, you can map a Static IP with a specific mac address, You can folllow these steps in order to configure it.
