IPhone 4 turning off after unplugged from wall or PC/MAC
Hi
Can someone help please?
I sold my iphone 4 recently and it was returned to me.
The guy had it for 6 hours and it suddenly crashed apparently (this is his words)!
He then tried to restore and it failed with unknown error 21.
Im no stranger to resetting and sorting an iphone out but this one has me banging my head against a brick wall.
I have tried to restore and the same error occurs.
I have also tried entering into DFU mode etc and the same results.
Volume up and down and resetting still no change.
I took it to the apple store as a last hope to see what they said and they dvised it had been tampered with so would not test any parts!
Should i try a new battery? Or is this something else? Has anyone seen this before?
Needless to say i am furious as i personally feel that this may have been a drop/water damage or jailbreak gone wrong or, even worse, a logic board swap SCAM.
Any help would be great.
Cheers
Hi
Thanks for the replies.
I have this afternoon taken the phone to a third party repair service store.
They took the battery out and used a fully charged battery, which i saw power another iphone.
This did not fix the issue.
The gent in the repair shop told me that it looks like a logic board fault. He also mentioned that it looks like it had been tampered with!
He also advised that he has seen a huge increase of this sort of thing happening on ebay.
He wished me luck with it and closed the phone up.
So it looks like i am now left with a dead phone and a fight with ebay! :-(
Cheers all.

Nano turns off after unplugging from computer
My nano works fine, if its plugged into my computer. When I eject and then unplug it turns off and I can't get it to turn back on. Once I managed to unplug and get it to turn on, then turned it off then I tried to turn it on again 5 mins later but nothing. Battery says it's off and I go through making sure everything is off or paused at least before unplugging but same result everytime.
I think this is ridiculous. I got the iPod nano 4th generation (8gb) this summer and my click wheel isn't working. Apple is making a huge mistake by ignoring our emails which could lead to business loss.
But!! I know how to get it working (for a while).
You just leave your ipod alone for about a week or two. And it's completely responsive. But unfortunately if you plug it into the computer, the wheel will become unresponsive again. It costs more to fix than to buy. <-- Crazy
The only thing is that i've lost the reciept ¬¬' But if you go to an official apple store. I've got a great excuse or whatever to why you deserve a new ipod or money back. It is 3 years garentee and it has only been made for 2 years.
Going to the store soon so i'll see if i can give you guys some info. -

hello sir my iphone screen turns off after using 2-5 minutes what would be the problem please help me out
To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone. If it still does not work, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:

Iphone turning off once unplugged from charger
my battery is at least 30% but when I take it off the charger for a second it turns off and wont turn on until I plug it back into the charger, and this only happens on occasions (mainly when I am in a hurry). I just don't know why it does it, and its not like my battery is too low to keep the phone on. HELP

My Iphone 4s is 2 years and 3 months old. the battery drains very quickly, sometimes turning off once it reaches 40% if I open an app or say the camera.
I charge it more than twice a day now as the battery life is so poor.
Also, when I take a photo, the phot sometimes shows in the album, but if I click on it, it shows up as a white screen and I cannot send the photo either as the recipient gets a blank screen.
I am not super flash with technology, so please be nice!
Thank youBasic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue persists, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement. -
IPhone 4s turns off after a while when I turn on 3G/wifi
Hi,
Recently I have been facing a serious problem with my iPhone 4s. The battery is draining quickly, I mean very quickly, especially when I am using wifi or 3G. 3G to be more specific.
I have been charging my iPhone 4s at work on the computer USB cable. I don't know if this damages the battery, I believe it has already happened or maybe it messes up the battery life and percentage.
Sometime when I am talking on the phone and I have like 47% it shuts down, whenever I turn on my 3G after a couple of minutes even when i have 70% it shuts down then I wait a couple of minutes and I will be able to turn it back on, it works for a like 1-2 minutes then it shuts down again. I seriously can't use 3G!!! The iPhone will not let me! Sometimes when I open the camera to take pictures, the iPhone turns off!
Is there any way to fix this, has anybody faced this problem, how can I fix it? I have done a restore but it did not work, if I have done it corrrectly.
I currenlty running iOS 7.0.2.
I will appreciate the help.
Regards,
FirasHi firaskurdi
i also ipone user, v6.0.1, maybe your problem are similiar to me.
i have done the following:
hard reset - done
soft reset - done
restore itunes - done
battery calibration - done
firmware 7.0.4 - do not want to perform too because ios7 heard that is drain battery faster than previous firmware.
but do not use.
maybe you can do a battery calibration 1st, means full charge, turn off 3G, use it until 0% and let it shut off, charge back, turn on iphone, wait it charge until 100% without interruption.
then you do a reset on network settings.
i go to apple store, they have same technical knowledge with me, ask to change a new board, or buy a new phone. wow...incredible, my iphone was 1.5 years old and never drop to floor before.
thanks.

Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro form 6-8 months and everything works great but from 2-3 days ago now everytime when i disconnect the power cord from the computer the system turn off.
I think the battery is good because i can use the computer only with battery (like im doing right now) and if i press the battery indicator button all green lights turn on and i can use the computer for 1-2 hours using battery only but for some reason if i connect the power cable again and disconnect later the computer is turned off.
I install all updates by apple.

hello ?
We are users such as yourself and can only give advice:
1. Dry the phone with a towell and put the phone in a plastic bag half filled with uncooked rice or silica gel pack and seal the bag
2. Do not remove or try to start the phone for at least 3 days
3. There is an extremely small chance the phone will start after drying this way, and even if it does, it's likely never to work well again and develop new problems in the future.
4. Get an out of warranty replacement from Apple. Unless you purchased damage inusurance, there is no warranty coverage for water damage -
My iPhone 3GS has worked like a charm. I stupidly agreed to do the software update today, and now both of my computers ignore it. Both computers are Mac. Both are updated. This is extremely frustrating, since I need my phone today for work purposes, and since I can't add music to it...it's basically useless. I use it as an MP3 player to play music during wedding Cocktail Hours.

MacBook Pro turns off when unplugged from outlet
I have a MacBook Pro Intel Core Duo 2.26GHz
2 days ago when I unplugged it from the wall it shut off. It has been doing this since even though the battery is fully charged.
Once it is off I am able to turn it back on not plugged in and use it for the full length of the battery without problem.
Anyone would know what would cause this? and how to fix it?
ThxI would try the SMC reset.

Iphone turns off after a few mn of utilization with the battery full
My iphone 3GS turns off after the battery is fully regenerated. I can only use it a few minutes before it turns off. I have to plug it again to turn it on, and the indicator of charge is around 98 %. The problem does not come from the battery. Has anybody found the same dis-functioning? A solution? Thanks!
More than likely the iPhone has a hardware problem.
If there is an Apple store nearby, make an appointment to have this confirmed. -
hi guys...im iphone new user...problem is now my iphone keep turnned off after i done restore & updated...then my iphone was jammed when i reloading my profile from itune...now totally cant sync my phone to itune...anyone can help?
I had the same problem yesterday and found an interesting topic on the net. Remove the SIM card from your iPhone, restore it and insert the SIM card when required.
This definitey solved my problem and prevent my iphone to reboot each 30s ... Problem was the restore time from the Cloud! -
Why my iphone 5 turns off while recording videos ???
please help !!!!! i m extreamly disappointed in apple ;[
Hello Dhananjay,
I recommend steps 1, 3 and 5 of the iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/.
If you get to step 3, then I suggest closing all the apps. Here is step one to get you started
Restart iPhone
To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.
All the very best,
Sterling
