Iphone 4 ultra sensitive keypad

Hi, I have real problems with the keypad ony my Iphone 4.  It is ultra-sensitive.  Sometimes, it will just type by itself when I hold my fingers above the keypad. Also, type 's' will get a 'z', press delete key and types 'm' etc..  IOS 5 is installed, but issues were present before up-date.  Problems present when using all apps - skype, whatsapp etc.. and also when playing games.
Anyone experiencing same problems.  Any advice greatly apprecaited  Thanks.

Is this only an issue when using 3rd party apps or do you have the issue when you use the iOS messaging and mail apps?

  • IPod on iPhone is case sensitive with bandnames, iTunes is not

    Hi,
The iPod application on the iPhone (software version 3.1) is case sensitive with bandnames, iTunes (9.0.1) is not.
iPod on iPhone shows the bands
    "Guns n' Roses"
    and
    "Guns N' Roses"
    as separate bands.
iTunes manages them as one band.
    Cheers,
    Philipp

Both the root file-system and the /var file-system on the iPhone are case sensitive.
I have no idea why. Curious thing for Apple to do.
Must be a unix hacker there. They love case sensitive filesystems
This is likely a cause of the problem.
Best just to rename the offending artist and album fields.
You can sort & filter them in iTunes and change a whole whack of them at once.

  • QuickTime 7.1.3 ultra-sensitive to codecs installed

Ever since we've installed QT 7.1.3 any program that depends heavily on QuickTime (After Effects & FCP 5.1.2) are ultra-sensitive to which codecs you have installed. I have crash upon crash when opening After Effects unless I uninstall two 3rd party codecs before opening any projects. Final Cut Pro will not even open past the splash screen with them installed. Unfortunately, I have numerous projects that rely on these codecs. QT 7.1.2 was not this sensitive and I never had this problem until 7.1.3.
I've sent crash reports for nearly every crash-out I've had.... so Apple... if you're wondering who sent you the 200+ reports over the past 5 weeks... it's me.

It doesn't look like BitJazz has released an update to their SheerVideo codec almost a year, so there could well be compatibility issues. Again, you might want to try to contact them and ask if this is a known issue. Other reports I've seen indicate that there are indeed problems with QT 7.1.x and this codec, so it would appear that you're not alone.
As to the x264 codec, Henry just released a 1.1 version, so if that's not the one you have, you might want to give that a try.

  • I find using the iPhone / iPod size virtual keypad much easier to use with a stylus...as when an iPhone app is installed on the iPad.  Anyway to use the iPhone size keypad with all apps?

I find using the iPhone / iPod size virtual keypad much easier to use with a stylus...as when an iPhone app is installed on the iPad.  Anyway to use the iPhone size keypad with all apps?

I don't want the keyboard to become bigger.  Wish there was a way to always have the iPhone sized keypad available for use with any app.  When typing with fingers or stylus, the distance between keystrokes is SO much shorter and efficent on the iPhone keypad vs the "full size" iPad keyboard.
I've heard that there will be some keyboard options when the new IOS comes out...wish this was one of them.
Haven't looked yet, but is there a place you can recommend things such as this to Apple?
    Thanks.

  • My iphone 4's text, keypad and alert tones are no longer working, also Ipod no longer plays without headphones plugged in. Please help!!

Since about a month now my iphone 4 text/alert tones, Keypad and lock tones and also the music are no longer working. It is not onTone 'None'. When someone calls me it rings no problem but no other sunds seem to work. It only vibrates.
If I go onto itunes from my phone it also doesnt play the clips of music. Has anyone else had this? I have reset, restored, updated and nothing has worked or helped.

No the mute button isnt on as it still rings for calls.
Mine is since that update aswell, I have been blaming that but just wasnt 100% sure. There was an update this week but hasnt sorted it. Im a 4hr drive from nearest apple store so really trying to avoid having to send it away/go to a store with it.

  • IPhone keyboard and phone keypad "sticking"

My iPhone 4S, when using keyboard, has started to repeat letters.  Three or four in a row.  When I attempt to erase the repeated letter it will start to erase everything - one word at a time but fast.  By the time I get it to stop, I might have lost most or all of what I've typed.  Also, the keypad for the phone "sticks" for lack of a better word and the key sound just drones on. And the phone will all of the sudden magnify everything till like only a few letters are visible.  I have to turn off the phone to correct it and since everything is so big it's a real pain to try and find the "slide to turn off" slider thing.  Has anyone experienced these problems?

    anyone help?

  • IPhone 2G touch sensitivity offset

    Hey folks,
I have an old iPhone 2G running iOS 3.1.3, wich I am using for developements and
    tests.
It suddently started to lose touch sensitivity on an horizontal strip at the bottom, but then it started to gain touch sensitivity on a horizontal strip at the top above the screen border. Both strips are abouth the same height, so I am suspecting that my iphone touch sensitivity is kind of offset off its normal position.
    Has anyone experienced this problem?
I already tried to restore, hard reset, jailbreak, shake, heat, etc.
Can it be solved using a path / bootloader / downdgrade or another software workaround? I cant take my iphone to the app store, genius bar or whatever, because I am hundreds of kilometer far away from one :-)
    Any help will be apretieted.

Error 26 is a hardware failure. Apple does not "fix" iphones(except for screen replacement & battery replacement). If your phone is under warranty & Apple determines the failure is covered by said warranty, it will be replaced. If your phone is not under warranty, you will have to find a third party repair facility. Note: warranty & service for iphones is only provided in the country the phone was originally purchased in from an official supplier.

  • Increase your iPhone 3G cellular sensitivity

Are you not happy with your iPhone 3G cell radio reception? I have the Casemate "Black Premium Leather Sleeve for iPhone 3G" from the AT&T store and when I slip it on I get at least two more antenna bars. I do not have a stake in Casemate or AT&T -- I'm just a user that loves the phone and very happy with the extra bars using this sleeve.
This has been tried on two different iPhones and two different sleeves. This sleeve has a metal frame that's covered with leather so the cell antenna must gain sensitivity with the extra metal surrounding it. This also protects your iPhone from dings and with a nice anti-glare screen protector you have a perfect package. Give it a try. It lists for $29.99 but you can find it for less on eBay .... The package has CAS IPH3G LTHR SLV CSMT OR under the bar code.

Do you have push email enabled? That increases useage time (and display thereof), even when you are not actively engauged in using the phone.
Wouldn't push only impact the phone if it were actually receiving messages.
I was under the impression push didn't maintain a constant always-on connection to the server with the iPhone. Doesn't it work along these lines: a message/calendar/bookmark update is received at the server, it then sends the phone a silent SMS message telling it it's about to get a push message and to get ready to receive it?
If that's the case, then Push will eat a bit more battery life than Fetch, as the mail app is always running in the background, idle, waiting for a message, but it's not the same as Fetch being set for constant or something frequent where the data radio is constantly fired up checking for messages to pull off a server.
The original poster's experiment seems interesting, and worth investigating. My iPhone came off the charger last night for a few hands of MotionX poker game play, and some meal input into a diet tracker, and that was all the use it got last night. Didn't plug it back into any charger and it had a competely dead battery this morning.
Something is running in the background beyond just push, in my opinion.

  • IPhone 6 touch sensitivity problem near edges of screen

I'm wondering if others are experiencing the problem I'm having with the sensitivity of the touch screen near the edges of the screen.
Often times I have the press harder or multiple times on buttons near the edges of the screen. When typing on the keyboard, it will often miss my first attempts at pressing the letters "A", "Z", "123", "L", etc. When using the calculator, I often have to press the "+" or "1" two or more times before it recognizes the press. All of these letters are near the edges of the screen. I tried typing on my wife's iPhone 6 Plus and do not have the same problem.
Do I have a faulty touchscreen, or is this a common problem?

After much troubleshooting and a phone replacement (for an issue with the home button too), the problem appears to be software related. On my replacement phone the problem continued when I restored from an iTunes or iCloud backup. But when I set up the phone as a new device then manually entered my 10 email accounts, re-downloaded my 100+ apps, set all my customizations, etc. - the touch screen works fine. I've even backed up and restored the new setup and old setup several times to confirm this.
All I can think of is there's likely screen size setting that's carried over from the iPhone 5 backup, that's mis-matched on the larger screen on the iPhone 6.
I wish Apple would involve me in beta testing their new software/devices and I could help them figure this stuff out, and save myself and other from countless hours of setting up their phone again. A selective restore would be nice (accounts and apps, but not settings).

  • IPhone 6 screen sensitivity problem

Have iphone 6 15 days ago. After update 8.1.3 I am getting annoying sensitivity problems. Needs tapping many time for action.
I see multiple of same complaints. Is Apple doing anything to fix.If so i need to know. Live far from apple strore. No land line or cable.
    Tks

    Hi This is Boddyrod
Went to apple store and had my iphone6 changed for a new one. The same problem was there with the new phone. Was advised to empty and start from new phone status, activate and transfer manually without restoring from iphone 5 back up.  Normal operation so far from last 3 days.

  • Only bottom half of iphone is touch sensitive...

I dont know what just happened but only the bottom portion of the touchscreen on my iphone is now touch sensitive.. I'm hoping turning it off and then on will somehow magically solve the problem..Is there anyway I can turn off the phone without sliding it off?

Yes you can reset the iPhone
    follow the below video
    http://movies.apple.com/movies/us/apple/iphone/2007/tips/iphone-tip-resetiphone560x316.mov
if this doesnt help do a full restore from within iTunes
_+Note: A full Restore will delete all media and data. All settings will be reset as well. If possible, sync iPhone with iTunes before restoring to back up your most recent settings.+_
    Hope this helps

I updated my iPhone with iOS7.0 and since that time I cannot use the keypad or numbers to type messages etc!
Yet I tap the icons and calculator and they work??...
Apple support gives me a troubleshoot number. When I press " quick fix" for diagnosis, it tell me the number cannot be verified!
    Please help?

    See Here  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once...
Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Some users have reported that as many as 8 or 9 attempts were necassary before success.
Take your time and pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4...
    However...
if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.

  • Iphone 3gs screen sensitivity REVERSED........please help ???

I have 3gs, and for the past few weeks having some wierd issues. hope i can explain it well.
I dunno what happened but my screen sensitivity has reversed, i mean to say generally when we make calls and if the phone is next to your ear the screen turns black and unresponsive to the touch of your ear and once you finish the call and remove the phone from your ear the screen activates to end the call.
in my case this screen sensitivity have reversed, the moment i take my phone next to my ear, the screen activates and thus it becomes responsive to the touch of my ear and as a result automatically the call sometimes go to speakerphone or sometimes go on hold and what not, and as soon as i remove the phone from my ear, the screen blacks out and not showing the screen end call button. i have to end the call through the top button. after a few seconds the screen appears and acts normal for applications and internet stuff. again if i make a call it starts acting in the same reversed way..............
its very very annoying and i need some expert advice. my phone is in its original condition, never unlocked, never jailbroken, with 3.1..........please please help me........hope u all understood what i was trying to say.........

And I thought I was the only one having this strange problem. For me too the automatic screen saving is reversed! Everytime I have a call the screen is on and active right next to my ear. When I want to end a call I have to place my finger on the sensor to activate the screen as it goes black otherwise.
Same while playing the voicemail: it goes black shortly after I start the recording and only would show up with my finger placed on the sensor...
No case. Reset and recovery done. No change.
So I guess we have a hardware problem.
I will go to my local dealer next monday to let them have a look!
    Cheers.
