Make sure ALL security apps on your computer are disabled when updating, even if there was no problem with them before.
If doing so doesn't help and you've tried multiple cables and computers, there likely is a hardware problem in the phone that requires replacement.

IPhone Application Update Problem -- Please Help

So I downloaded the application Aurora Feint. Synced it to my iPhone and all was well. Then apparently there was an update. Instead of logging onto iTunes and updating it that way, I decided to try out the Application Store update feature on the iPhone itself. The problem is that the feature won't work for programs later than 10MB. (Aurora Feint is 20+MB.) So now I'm left with an unusable Aurora Feint update icon on my screen that is just taking up space.
I tried holding down the icons so I could just click the X to get rid of it. Problem is the update icon has no X. Then I tried syncing my phone via iTunes and telling it to remove the AF application. Supposedly it did. But when I disconnected the phone, the AF update icon is still there.
Can someone please tell me how to get rid of the blood thing?

If all else fails, first remove the app from iTunes (delete it), then do a restore of the iPhone. It should be gone after the restore.

Iphone 3G update problems

Hi,
I had error within downloading updates on my iphone started with 4.0 OS version.I received 99,9% of update package,but it stops working in the end. I tried different connections, different locations even contact local administrator with the feedback of error in iTunes application. No network connection loss.
iTunes error text:
There was a problem dowloading the software for the iPhone. The network connection timed out.
Make sure your network settings are correct and you network connection is active. or try again later.
Have you anybody expirienced that? I tried it ten times.

HT1212 IOS7 password problems on iPhone & OS update problems on MacBook -- HELP!

I've updated IOS7 on my iPhone & I've been asked for my password, which I don't know (I actually don't think I set one).
I tried to sync iPhone with iTunes on my MacBook Pro, however the phone won't work without itunes 11.1 (which I seem to not have). I need to install OS 10.6 version or later on my MacBook Pro, however when I have tried to do so, I keep on being told I need a previous version. I tried 10.6.1 which doesn't work and can't seem to find 10.6.
I have no idea what I'm meant to do to get 1) my iPhone working and 2) update iTunes so it can eventually sync.
Someone help?! I'd be forever grateful!

Your Passcode problem is a different issue, but until you update your computer, & iTunes you will not be able to fix that.
An Apple store will restore your phone, or you can use another computer. Follow the directions here:
Force the phone into recovery mode, as described here, and restore it:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
This will remove the passcode.

IPhone Backup/update Problem?

I'm trying to update my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.1, but when i try to backup the phone first, it says that the backup is not compatible with my iPhone, and that i should delete my backup file before trying again. I looked where the other forums said to look for the backup file, but my computer says that the file doesn't exist. If i update to 4.1, will it delete anything that wasn't backed up, or is there a way to fix the backup problem? My computer is a Toshiba Satellite L500D with Windows 7

Iphone 3g update problem

So my main problem with the ios 4.o update is that the phone will back up ( which takes ffoorrrreevvveerrr ) but when it is done baking up it will not install the actual update. itunes will say that it is ok to disconnect but it will NOT install 4.o for some reason. Any tips would help

IPhone 4 Update Problem. Please help!

I updated my iPhone 4 to ios 7.1.1 and after the update, it is says to connect to iTunes. When connecting to my phone to iTunes, it will not connect and I have loss all files and photos.

Where are you and where did you get the phone? All iPhones come with a 1 year warranty from the original date of sale.
Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store and take it in for them to have a look at.

First, what on earth does paying 500.00 for a phone and thousands of dollars in other apple products have to do with anything?

Iphone 4 update problems

I recently updated my iphone 4 (from an up to date itunes) and ever since my phone has constantly crashed. I have lost count of the amount of times I have restored my phone. Sometimes restoring the phone works for a few hours then I am back to square one.
Any one got any ideas on what to do? The only advice I can find is to restore it which I have done about ten times in the last 24 hours

I have not tried restoring it as new. The phone is currently refusing to be restored at all. I shall try that next time it feels like corrporating thanks

Iphone apps updating problem

I have iphone 2.0 attempting update my apps and itunes says I'm not connected to the internet. of course I am. does anyone know how to resolve this and what it is.
I also update my itunes to 8 to get the 3.0 software -

Iphone applications update problem

in my itunes, the apps update icon keep showing me i have updates... example "23 updates available"
but when i clicked on the message, and gone into the update page, it will show me "no updates available. check again later"..., the application item on the left of itune still shows "23" as a number of updates i have,,
so i am confused, should i ignore the number? or what should i do?

i had tried the following:
- uninstall and re-install itunes
- uninstall, and remove all preference files, then re install itunes
- delete n move to trash ALL mobile applications in itune, and then sync with iphone n transfer applications over to itune
the last method seemed to work, as it shows the correct number of updates as my iphone.
but when i click on the update link in itunes, again its shows "no update available"
currently i am using iphone app store to update all apps

The last version of iOS to be supported is 4.2.1. If apps require something higher, you will not be able to use them. The only way around this is to buy a new phone. You can NOT install iOS 5 on an iPhone 3G.

Thanks but I have tried doing the above - when I said 7 times I was modest, its more like 15 times.
And I am referring to the 5.1 software update. I dont have wifi so I guess I will have to try that seeing that my husband also has the same problem - he has also tried downloading several times. It always times out en says that the connection is lost but yet there are always an internet connection and a decent signal once it stopped. Think it said error 32052 or something!
I am disappointed because the update includes inprovement on the battery life - did you guys notice any difference?
