IPHONE 4 UPDATING ISSUES!!
I AM STILL NOT ABLE TO UPDATE TO 4.0.1 AND MY IPHONE HAS NOW BOMBED OUT!! WONT RESTORE WONT DO ANYTHING GREAT!!! TOOK IT TO APPLE IN THE UK AND THEY WERE TOOOOOO BUSY TO LOOK AT IT AND HAD TO BOOK IT IN - THEY COULDNT SEE ME TIL WEDNESDAY!!!! WHAT A JOKE!! I WILL BE THERE TOMORROW TO SEE THE TEAM!! HAS ANYONE HAD ANY OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS AND COULD YOU ADVISE ME IF ITS FIXABLE - DONT BOTHER SAYING TRY THE DIFFERENT PORTS, DIFFERENT LEADS, DIFFERENT USER ACCOUNTS COS NONE OF THIS WORKS JUST ANYTHING REALLY THAT WORKS PROPERLY COS I NOW HAVNT HAD MY PHONE FOR 2 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why are you all so bothered iv got caps lock on surely this isnt what the forum is about!!!
anyway i get an error 9 code coming up everytime i go to restore it, about 30 times iv done this and when i plug my iphone into the computer i get the following message displayed - itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode you must restore the iphone before it can be used with itunes"
next i click on restore and the following appears a box with the option to restore and update i click that option and it goes into extracting software, the verifying update with apple, the preparing iphone software for restore then my iphone goes into the mode with the white bar going across the screen gets 3 quarters of the way and then freezes and comes up with error 9

Following are the seemingly essential details in regards to this discussion :
iPhone Model = 4
Purchase Date = 05.Jan.2011
Initial Activation Remark = I used my gmail email account to add contacts initially. But phone always failed to sync (back) with gmail after the initial setup. As in if I make any changes in the iPhone’s Contact List, it won’t automatically be saved to my gmail account. But I thought to keep a full phone back up on my MacBook Pro will be safer option as well.
Latest Full Phone Backup Date = 19.Sep.2013 [via iTunes-11 on MacBook Pro-OS X 10.8.2]
iOS 7 Update Date = 20.Sep.2013

Problem = iOS 7 update deleted all the Contacts that were originally saved on the iPhone.
Tried & Failed = I tried to restore from the available 19.Sep.2013 backup from my MacBook Pro. It restored everything but still NO CONTACTS. If I add email [orginal gmail] account's contacts then it does not show the contacts that I saved on the phone locally; around 1100.
I am in the great trouble because my 1100+ contact list just zeroed by this new update.
[Also, my iCloud all got screwed up. I had earlier used my wife's credit card to register for iTunes, and now my account got her name all over it. There is no option to change the name on icloud.com. I will start a new discussion for this problem.] Though I am trying not to lash out on Apple (for now), but I think that it is seriously getting into my nerves.
Could anyone please help me to get my contacts back? I will be eternally grateful.
I still got the Full iPhone Backup on my MacBook Pro that I did just before the update.

Hi I am trying to update my Iphone 4 software and selected "restore from Itunes back up" as part of the process, but I am getting an error message telling me I need to first go to the Icloud settings on my phone and turn off "find my phone" before I can. However I can't do this as my phone is asking me to start set up - I can't get into my settings! Help please!
Use your computer to go to http://www.icloud.com/find. Log on. Find and click on the iPhone. Choose "Remove From Account" if that option is available. Otherwise, you may choose "Erase iPhone" if you wish, knowing you have a good iTunes backup.

The iPod Classic I bought a month ago is not synching with my new Mac Book I bought 3 weeks ago. All the software was immediately updated. My iPhone 5 synchs fine, and so does my 2nd generaton iPod Touch. The original computer I synched all of these devices on was my HP latop. I bought my Mac and Classic to the Apple Store for a 'Genius Appt' and they could not figure out what the problem is. The connected my Classic to another computer and the same thing happens. It says device is not recognized. They also took other iPod Classics and connected them to my Mac and other Macs. The same thing was happening. They took notes and said it probably is an iTunes update issue.
I can manually drag songs into my Classic but I lost all playlists because it cannot be backed up as well and they had to restore it. For now I am holding on to it but it's usless to me if I cannot use it the way I liked too. I used it for the gym and bike riding and my last iPod battery died after 6 years. A charge would last 45 miutes. I love the Classic for what I use it for but it's a $275 brick to me now. At least the renewed by receipt so I can get a full refund.
Is anyone else seeing this issue ? The Apple Store employee said he saw a first generation iPad havng the same issue. As of now the Support Dest is unaware of this. As much as I love my new Mac I am disappointed I cannot sync my new Classic to it. Total bummer.
Any help would be apprecated.By the way, I totally restored everything. It was ok. It starts to 'unrecognize' my iPod Classic when it comes to synching with iPhoto. After this happened all the menus disappeared from my iPod (music, Podcasts, movies synched fine). It seems to be a problem when synching with iPhoto. It was the same thing before.

had update issues but now my iphone is in a loop of the apple sign then the circling thing, itunes doesnt even pick it up, cant get past this point!! ? any help?

Has anyone else had the issue of losing theYouTube app on the original IPhone after updating to 4.3.5? (The Restrictions is turned as OFF)
The Youtube app is now cleaned away from the IOS 4.3.5
Any help would be appreciated.This still doesn't make sense. The iPhone 4 may have come with a number of different versions of iOS out of the box depending on when it was purchased and how long it had sat on the shelf.
If you can't find it, check restrictions and make sure you haven't locked it out. -
Iphone 5-updated to ios 7.0.2 keeps freezing in lock screen.I always need to restart or should wait till a phone call come to unlock the screen. Does any body have the same issue??
I do have the same issue with my 4s after updating.tried with restoring several times,but the problem still persists.....

It seems after the latest software update, my iphone 4 has issues with the phone and voicemail locking up as well as opening random apps. Any thoughts?

Updated my Iphone 4s to the new IOS and now i can't restart or recover it. as soon as it starts recoring, the status bar fades and the connect to itunes screen appears. WHAT THE HEY!? I'm SICK of UPDATE ISSUES!!!!!!
Yes, yes, yes... I've gone through all the common sense trouble shoots. Would't be here asking questions if that answers existed on the net. Sorry if I sound a bit edgey, but I've had nothing but issues with every update since IOS 7. Clearly there's nothing that can be done about this. and this is the final nail in the coffin to try to make me buy an Iphone 5.

iOS 5 update issues. It tells me "This device isn't eligible for the requested download." Anyone else having this issue? It's giving me this message for my iPhone 4 and iPad 2.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

When a new iphone software update is released i download it and then whenever i install it it always has an error occur and has to delete everything on my phone then restore it after the update is finished. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my phone/computer that is causing this?

My iTunes is having issues contacting the iPhone software update server. Help?
I click Check for Update in iTunes and it gives me an error saying, "The iPhone software update server could not be contacted." and then tells me to make sure my network settings are correct and my connection is active. But I can still get on internet with my computer.
That error indicates that something is blocking your computer's communication with the update server. Remove your third-party security software and disable your firewall, then try again. As long as your phone isn't jail broken, which would also block the connection to the update server, it should work just fine after that
