IPhone 4 upgrade iOS 4.3.2 freeze

I tried to upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3.2 using my iTunes for Windows.
When I click "Yes" to grade, the download started but it freezed at about 15% of the download.
Then, the iTunes gave me a message saying that the network connection time is over and asked me to check the netwoirk connection.
However, my network is working well.
Can anyone help ?

Just want to report that this issue IS fixed with iOS 6.1, but (still) ONLY for unencrypted back ups.
Back up your old device (unencrypted), restore (new) phone to 6.1 and restore from back up should bring your messages right back.
Worked for me from iPhone 2G 3.1.3 to 3GS 6.1
(If you're at all interested, the problem was due to the way iOS 6.x converted the SQL database containing your texts (sms.db) to merge SMSs and iMessages, so even though the messages remained intact often the headers/table was corrupted meaning nothing showed up in the SMS list. The messages themselves were never lost or deleted)

HI, Sorry for my BAD english, I'm Italian. I have an Iphone 4s.. four day ago, I upgraded my IOS from 5.1.1 to 6.1.1 (thinking that 6.1.1 was mature). This is WORST decision I was made. WIFI it's unusable. iPhone it's connected, but doesn't navigate.... or navigate like a SNAIL.
I'm a computer technician and cisco CCNP... after some speedy try, I was able to use WIFI with WEP and not with WPA....
Best result was with an 802.11/B AP  with 128bit WEP (no problem at ALL).......  I think there is a problem IOS - WPA and 802.11G AP...
I hope this can help some user...... for me it's absolutely USELESS info because all my customer uses different AP with different encription so I CAN'T use anymore my phone.... I switch to galaxy sIII until apple resolve this issue.
I'm an apple fan since 1987 (MY MAC II)  and NEVER has problem or problem was immediately resolved but
on last THREE year, apple was made some mistake.... using CUSTOMER as TESTER....
After 20 year of apple, if all continue so. I MUST abandon APPLE.

I know that only some iphone 4s are affected by this problem but....
before write, please CONNECT BRAIN and verify your info...
So .... My brain and my iPhone are working, Yours are not.
for your reference, HALF internet (including APPLE support ) are FULL of post regarding this issue....
Do you actually knows how big the Internet is? Do you also know how many iPhones is out there?
    Stop BS.

My post would be a temporary solution for who are affected by this issue, for use wifi until apple fix it..

I can back up the phone no problem without doing the IOS upgrade. I do have the latest version of itunes. Any suggestions? Is there another way to download IOS6?

  • Iphone 6 plus ios 8.2 freezes up

It only happened of late that when I tried to type my messages be it on whatsapp, wechat or even safari, it would freeze up and the only way to get around it is to hit the button on the right to go on standby and then wake the phone up again and access the app to continue.
I realised I've also been having my phone freeze up when I wake it up from using TouchID, and tapping on my Setting icon. The only way to get around this problem is by doing the above as well.
Does this happen to anyone and if its a problem with ios 8.2?

The problem is much more complex than is there a smudge on the lens or is your finger covering the lens. It appears to be iOS 8.2 related as the issue coincided perfectly with my upgrade to iOS 8.2 on my 6 plus. The focus is now fixed to approximately 12 inches. Landscapes are incredibly blurry. If I tap to focus the lighting box will come up but it will not focus. Reboots and changes to HDR do not fix it. Changes in mode (i.e. slo-mo, time-lapse, video) have the same problem.

I just finished my  multi-device upgrade to iOS X. Now, Keynote freezes and is basically dysfunctional.  Anyone else have this problem?

What did you upgrade? There is no such thing as iOS X, there is iOS and OS X. iOS is for iphones, ipads, and ipods and OS X is the Mac operating system.

  • Since upgrading to iOS 6,my 4s freezes up, so I cant submit my passcode. Updated apps shut down unnexpectedly.  Another quality miss, Mr. Cook?

Since upgrading to iOS 6,my 4s freezes up, and  I have had to restore it once already.  Today it looks like I will need to do it again, as I cant even submit my passcode after entering it. Updated apps shut down unnexpectedly, including newest versions of Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIN. I thought this new iOS provided GREATER integration with Facebook?  Instead,  I am forced to access it on other devices and "gasp" my Windows PC!   More quality misses on top of the Maps fiasco, Mr. Cook?

    Try:
    - Reset the iPhone. Nothing will be lost
Reset: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPhone.

  • All day calendar events not being displayed in the notification centre for iphone 5 post ios 7 upgrade. Please help. Is it a bug?

All day calendar events not being displayed in the notification centre for iphone 5 post ios 7 upgrade. Please help. Is it a bug?
With iOS 6, the all day events showed up in the notification centre but it lacks in the upgrade iOS 7.

Same problem here. Some people pointed out that all-day events do show up in their notification center, but that seems only to be the case for birthdays (and only as text like the weather). I've tried it myself on my iPhone and iPad and it did work for birthdays but not for any other all-day events. I already sent this to Apple as a product feedback as well, as should everyone of you. The more people mention it, the faster Apple's going to fix this issue. In its current state, notification center is not a very helpful feature in my opinion. There's absolutely no point in not showing all-day events in the 'today' calendar overview.
Here's a link to the product feedback page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/
I posted my message in the iPhone section since I couldn't find a page specifically dedicated to iOS 7.
I really love the look & feel of iOS 7 but it's kinda sad to see notification center not tapping its full potential.
    Cheers!

  • HT1688 I updated my IPhone 5 to IOS 7 and after that now it freezes when I try to type anything.

I got a new IPhone 5 at the end of July and it worked just fine, but when I updated to IOS 7 now it freezes anytime I type something.  I can push the letters on the screen and then about 1 minute later they will display on the screen.  I even updated to IOS 7.0.2 hoping this would fix this problem, but it did not.
I doesn't matter if it is a text or in an app on the phone I can't type with the keyboard with out a long dely in the time I type the letters and the time they appear on the screen and then if is misspell or misstype something then I have to wait again to delete it and retype it.
What can I do to fix this problem I have rebooted the phone several times and it continues and I have even HARD booted the phone by holding Home button and top button to lock or power off until it shuts off and then turned it back on and it still does the same thing.
I can't really use my phone to type anything it is very frusterating!!!!!!

I have Sprint and all my friends have other carriers. There's are working perfectly fine. I have an iPhone 5 and since I updated it, it gives me an invalid SIM message. I called sprint and they told me to take out the sim and put it back in after a minute. No matter what I do, after about an hour of restarting it it shows "Invalid SIM"

  • Iphone 4 wont play videos after upgrade ios 4.3.2

I wonder if anybody can poine me in the right direction.
I have an Iphone 4 running the latest iOS 4.3.2, the problem is that I can't play non-native videos on my iphone using Apps such as Azul Media Player or VLC. Both afore mentioned Apps are supposed to make viewing of non-native formats such as .mpeg. avi, etc possible, - indeed they DID prior to latest iOS upgrade.
Now it might be worth mentioning that Ive upgraded my iphone to latest iOS but Ive also installed a new Windows based PC at home. I'll tell you why ive mentioned this.
Originally video files where imported to my iPhone via Itunes which was running on an old X86 Windows Based PC - Windows XP Pro SP3
verything was fine, no problems importing using iTunes File Sharing and equally no problems viewing videos using Azul Media Player.
Yesterday seems to be where everything seemed to go heywire!
I took delivery of a new Acer AX3950 Computer running 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium.
I installed 64-bit Itunes then reinstalled a back-up of data from DVD which contained all Music Albums, Apps etc. I then connected my iPhone 4 to my new PC and sync'd - everyhting went smoothly just as anticipated, all data restored lost nothing.
Then, Im prompted to upgrade to latest iOS 4.3.2, which I did.
All files downloaded, unpacked and went thought the verification process with Apple Inc, iPhone was preparred to receive latest iOS then the installation began, - and subsequently failed before completion. I was then offered the choice of performing a recovery - losing all Music Albums, Apps restoring my Iphone to its native factory settings, - which was my only option at this stage. So, I opted to perform a recovery, - which failed also!
Now im left with an iPhone 4 in my hand which is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. There was a picture on the screen which depicted a USB data cable with the words Recovery Mode above. Then, low and behold, I had a bright spark of an idea...
I went and fetched my old X86 based Windows XP Pro SP3 computer set it up and connected my iPhone to one of the USB ports.
Then I opened iTunes which detected the phone was in recovery mode and asked if I wanted to Recover my iPhone installing latest iOS and returning it to native factory settings, - again, I had no other option, so I went ahead.
Once again iOS 4.3.2 was downloaded from Apple, unpacked, verified, iPhone was prepared etc..
installation began and continued successfully including reboot, - Yippie! My iPhone 4 sprung into life!
I was then offered the choice of restoring all data from a recent back-up - which I did. After almost 2 hours (despite iTunes contdown timer continually saying 7 minutes remaining) I finally restored my iphone back to what I thought was it's fully working condition. Well almost, apart from the video rendering issue as mentioned.
Now, if you're still with me, - and God knows I hope you are..
    This is what I'm wondering..
Why is it I can't play non-native video files on my iPhone 4 since upgrade to latest iOS 4.3.2?
Please help if you can it would be greatly appreiated. - my iPhone is bog-standard issue, all Apps have been purchased via App Store and the phone has not been tampered with - i.e. Jailbroken.
    Yours with much respect.
    Edward of Derby

I have the same EXACT problem.  it won't play some of my videos, any youtube videos (says it cannot connect to server) and won't play a lot of other internet videos

Same here.... No fix. Replacing is the option apparently and if you're out of warranty, you're SOL. That was as per the "Genius" at Apple.

  • How to upgrade iOS on iPhone when disk iTunes is installed on is virtually full

I'm trying to upgrade iOS on my iPhone. The PC that I run iTunes on is old and as such the C: has only a 40GB capacity and us virtually full. I have a symlink set up which points the default iTunes backup folder at a secondary, larger internal hard drive and I can back up my iPhone without any issue and not rake up space on C: (thanks to the symlink). However, when I try to upgrade from iOS 4.3 to the latest, iTunes complains that I have no free space and the I should free up 5GB which I can't do! I've got 1TB of available space on my network but iTunes only looks at the local disk when upgradin, giving me a scary "you'll lose all you data" type message when I try to progress.   What are my options here? Uninstall iTunes and reinstall it somewhere with more space? Back up my iPhone, let iTunes wipe my data then restore from backup? Get Apple to fix iTunes? Sell everything and go and live in a commune with no electricity? Anyone got any idea?  Thx

OK, I took your advice and tried to delete some of the 'crap', uninstalled a bunch of things, got Windows to 'Compress old files' and woohoo I now have 8.3GB free.
Tried the upgrade again and there's no diskspace warning, however, iTunes throws a 1303 error when trying to backup and gives a 'Continue and you'll lose everything' message.
I can backup without a problem using the Backup Now button in iTunes, but when it tries to do it as part of the upgrade it fails.
So I'm back to square 1 really after hours of harddrive 'optimisation'. Any idea how I celar the 1303?
    Thanks
